At Chapter 9 it all became clearer. And our faith in NK was renewed. He wasn't the backstabber we thought he was!!
The past year has been the worst and probably the best in Arnav's life. The worst for obvious reasons of course. But the best because it has forced him to introspect on his relationships...with Anjali and the rest of the Raizadas, with the Guptas and most importantly with Khushi. Never before has he ever given a thought to how others are coping. No one except Anjali, of course. There was a time when he would never have gone to visit the Guptas and find out how they were and whether they needed anything.
This past year has shown him that his "I'm ASR and I am never wrong" persona has the power to destroy lives. It has forced him to realize how his misguided views and actions led to Khushi's molestation. But most of all the past year taught him to be less self-centered, less self-focused and understand that to love someone means to put them and their welfare before oneself.
And now Khushi's back...with a new haircut and a new wardrobe? I'm waiting to see if "the little black beads" that gave Arnav so much hope a year ago are still around her neck.
