"Anuj and Arnav were senior to me, Shyam was in their section. Anuj and I fell in love and I didn't know that Shyam has a liking towards me. Arnav was Anuj's friend so we both also became friend, I am like a younger sister to him and he often used to tell me that if he had any sister other than his Di she would be just like me, everything was passing smoothly, till one day Anuj confessed his love in front of whole school. After that day Shyam followed me everywhere, he told me that he loves me more than Anuj or anyone, no matter how much I ignored him, denied him but he didn't back out and that is when Arnav jumped in and he fought with Shyam for me, asked him to stay away from me and that is when Shyam bad mouthed about me and Arnav though whole school knew about me and Anuj still some of them believed Shyam and then Anuj and I decided to go abroad. That is when Arnav for the first time confessed his feelings for you with us. You know Khushi, he loved you when he doesn't understand what is love, when he was just 7 years old" Lavanya told her and Khushi was continuously nodding negatively

Arnav, loved her, he loves her

"Nahi, tum jhoot keh rahi ho woh hum se nafrat karte hain, unhon ne humain ghar se nikala tha Lavanya tum toh jaanti ho na phir …… (No, you are lying, he hates me, he threw me out of this house, you know it and still you …..)" Her voice choked and Lavanya just embraced her

"You don't know how much he was guilty of doing this to you"

"But he mistrusts me, he thought that I … with Jeeju ….. he ….." Khushi was not finding the words to explain

"Yes he did this, but you don't know his condition when he came hospital to see you" Khushi looked up at her as her crying stopped

"He …. He came to see …. m… me"

"Yes"

Lavanya was pacing in the corridor trying to call Arnav for the 20th time now and praying that he would pick up, What she didn't knew was his condition,

Once his tears dried, he almost dragged himself to the bed feeling hollow, It was then his eyes went on the blinking screen of his phone, he don't want to attend any call but it was from Lavanya and he has to talk to her

"Hel …."

"Thank God Arnav you picked up, Pari … I mean Khushi is in hospital …. She has …." Lavanya was about to tell him that Khushi had a heart attack when a hand pressed her shoulder, Anuj stopped her and motioned her not to tell him

Arnav who was feeling that he has shed all his tears proven wrong when fresh tears made their way to his cheeks, holding the phone he was sitting like statuette with one sentence reverberating, "Khushi is in hospital"

"Arnav are you listening?" Not getting any answer Lavanya spoke

"Wh … which h …. Hos … hospital" Only he knew the courage he has to take to speak these two words

Lavanya told him the name and he without caring to put on his shoes or slippers left for there

Everyone in the hospital stared weirdly at the man who walked in trousers and t-shirt without his shoes, but he wasn't bothered at all, Anuj met him at the reception and Arnav frighteningly stood to the ground motionless not having the courage to ask about Khushi

Anuj felt sympathetic for his friend who has grown into a stone to the world but his heart was a gem, understanding his condition Anuj quietly take him to the ICU where Khushi has been

He stopped at the door and dared to look at her from the small mirror frame. Needles attached to her body, once again he put her into this. He shut his eyes furiously

"You don't exist for me anymore Khushi"

"JUST GO AWAY KHUSHI"

He can't believe he said those words to her, He opened his eyes feeling pressure on his shoulder

"Arnav" Not being able to control anymore he turned around and hugged Lavanya

"I failed her Lavanya …. I …. I misunderstood her, … I asked her to leave the house …. I thought wrong about her … I ….." He was crying like a 5 years old child whose most favorite thing has been taken away and now he has left empty handed

"She is not going to forgive me ever, I … I made a …." He stopped and breaking the hug he looked at Lavanya

"What happened to her?"

With teary eyes Lavanya helplessly stared him back, She never saw him going weak and now… She looked at her hands which have been tightly clutched by him, She looked back at his face and she decided

"I … I found her on the road unconscious, Doc …. Doctors are saying she fainted because of weakness and her mind is in state of shock" Lying to your best friend is never easy

Arnav broke down as he fell to his knees and the tears again streamed down his cheeks

"I mistrust her, how can I be so foolish to hurt my Pari, my Angel" He banged his head to the nearest bench and Lavanya quickly sat down and held his hands

"Arnav she'll be fine, and I know that your love is so strong that one day she will forget about this day and she will forgive you" She helped him sitting on the bench and now when he was silently crying she called the nurse and asked her to bandage his bleeding forehead

"I don't need this I am fi ….." Arnav tried to keep off the nurse when Lavanya intruded

"You cannot hurt yourself Arnav, I am sure Khushi will not like it"

And quiet, he let the nurse do dressing to his wound

"I think I should check Khushi" Saying she entered the ICU and once again Khushi's pale face came in front of his eyes

"I am sorry Khushi" He said painfully and that was the moment when Khushi opened her eyes

For three days he forget every other thing around him, he even forget about his sister, his family. From three days the hospital corridor was his home, he ate only when Anuj or Lavanya forcefully made him to eat otherwise he spend hours staring Khushi from the mirror frame, he don't have the courage to go and face her

He felt ashamed for what he did but he cannot right it now and it was the third day when doctors shifted Khushi to the private room. Now he was standing at the door, finally convincing himself to talk to her. He has decided that he will tell the truth of Shyam to his sister, he will tell Khushi he has feelings for her, no more lies but then he heard her crying

"Ha .. Hamari shaadi hui unn …. se .. au …. aur unn … unhon ne humain sha … shaadi ki raat ghar se ni …. nikaal dia, unhon ne hum pe bhrosa nahi kia …." She was saying more but Arnav feeling sick of himself turned his face as tears of guilt ran down his cheeks

"Don't worry Khushi, you'll be living with me in my house as my younger sister" He heard Lavanya saying it and then he realized that he never deserved her, he has to live a life without her in it, so he will. This is going to be his punishment for hurting his Pari, his angel

He sighed as he leaned back his head on the wall outside her room letting the tears wash his face

Khushi hearing it keeping her hand on her mouth in shock as she shook her head. This cannot be true, This never can be. She didn't know when her face was drenched in tears. She had read novels, watched films seeing the lovers sacrificing their happiness for their loved ones but someone did this for her, that someone was Arnav. She cannot believe it

"He let go of you to see you happy, Anuj and I were married that time Khushi but for you he requested Anuj to be away for some time. He called me, texted me almost every half an hour to know if you are fine, The Pari about which I use to speak at phone was you Khushi" Lavanya jerked her and she shook her head once more

"No Lavanya … how … how can it be …. He …. He ….. I ……" She stuttered in her sobs

"The gifts, the jalebis, the flowers which you get on your birthdays, he used to send those to you, he accepted his defeat that he has to live without you, he has to live alone" Lavanya continued and Khushi tried to get any memory when Arnav even wished her birthday, it was always her who every time stubbornly refuse to cut cake without being him present there

"He loves you Khushi, he loves you like crazy, please … please go back to him before he break down completely, please Khushi" Lavanya pleaded for her friend and once again his statuette figure flashed in front of her eyes when she accused him for everything which happened with her, least she knew that it was their fate that the shifting and turning of events occurred otherwise he always tried to protect her, to keep her happy

"Wh … what should I do Lavanya …. I … I hurted him … I …." She wept and cried covering her face in her hands

"Call him, you can heal everything for him just call him" As Lavanya said she looked up at her

"Yes, I'll call him" She wiping her face take her phone from the side table and called him

She called once, twice, four times he didn't attended

Now she was getting worried for him,

She gazed at Lavanya in fright,

"He … he isn't picking the call"

"Don't worry, he must go to the guest house, we can go there" Lavanya said as she remembered once Arnav mentioned to her and Anuj that he use to visit their guest house whenever he is sad

"Yeah" Khushi almost ran out of the room to the stairs when she has to stop as an arm pulled her back and the other came to cover her mouth to forbid her from screaming

Horrified, she tried to pry the hands off her mouth and waist, the hand moved up to her nose and as the smell of chloroform hit her nostrils she became motionless as she fainted

"LEAVE HER YOU BEAST"

Lavanya ran fast as Shyam jumped in shock and tried to drag the unconscious Khushi with him, but Lavanya came there and tried to take Khushi away from him.

Shyam grinned evilly as he weaken his grip on Khushi and Lavanya took hold of her,

"Khushi … Khushi open your eyes …. We've to see Arnav Khu …." Before she could speak further Shyam brought the chloroformed handkerchief to her nose and soon she was lying unconscious with Khushi

"I love this, Ahh …. I got my two ladies to me and now Arnav could do nothing about it" He laughed as he dragged both of them out of the mansion carefully keeping an eye so that no one in the house could watch him doing it
