"Khushi, can you get me a coffee please?" Arnav asked, busy viewing his business documents.
"Ek minute Arnavji" Khushi replied.
"What the! For the past ten minutes, you've been telling me the same thing! What the hell are you doing on the laptop?" Arnav uttered, annoyed at Khushi paying no attention to him.
Arnav had been dumbfounded when Khushi had asked him to gift her a laptop on her birthday since he always thought that Khushi hated those high technology tools. But then, she had convinced him about the need of keeping up-to-date with the evolving world, and how she had heard about the possibility of shopping or even obtaining new recipes online. Since that day, Khushi was always being found busy on the laptop which had become her new friend. Arnav did not have the guts to say anything since otherwise, Khushi would complain about him doing the same.
"Arnavji, you have no patience at all! Wait, am just going!" Khushi said, while leaving the laptop on the bed.
Overwhelmed by curiosity, Arnav slyly moved on the tip of his toes and checked the history section of Khushi's laptop.
"Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada…how smart!" he murmured when he realised that the history was completely empty.
"Yes, I am smart…I have a brain too! And have I ever checked like a thief what all you do?" Khushi let out, while poking fun at Arnav's failure at tracking what she was doing. "Here's your coffee!"
Arnav was flabbergasted to see Khushi all of a sudden and tried to evade the matter.
"Khushi, I was thinking that since our wedding, we've not yet gone on honeymoon!" Arnav said with a smirk, slowly approaching Khushi, knowing how she would blush at the idea.
"Honeymoon?" Khushi asked with reddened cheeks "Let's go to Maldives!"
"Maldives?"
"Yeah, it's a beautiful island!"
"Okay as you wish…Wait a minute, is this a new coffee mug? I've never seen this blue mug before and it has Deloitte written on it!"
"Yes, I've recently bought this mug because…anyway, Arnavji, I was just thinking why don't you buy a bike?" Khushi proposed.
"A bike? Are you serious? I mean how I am supposed to go the office dressed in a suit on a bike? It's ridiculous! And since when have you grown a passion for bikes?
"Since he…" Khushi started to say, before adding "Just forget it!"
"What!...Paagal"
"Paagal aap… why don't you ever play football and cricket?" asked Khushi, putting her hands on her hips.
"So, I am paagal because I don't play football or cricket? I mean why do you want me to play football or cricket?"
"Because he does it!"
"Who does it?"
"He!"
"He who?"
"Just forget it! Else you'll get jealous!"
"Why would I get jealous, Khushi? Whom are you talking of? Waise Khushi, where is Salman Khan? I mean the poster..you've removed it!" asked Arnav, intrigued by what could have pushed her wife to remove the poster of her favourite actor.
"Yes, I have removed the poster!"
"Why?"
"Because Salman Khan is no longer my favourite hero!"
"Really? Then who has replaced him? Me?" asked Arnav with a sly smile.
"Don't have such great hopes! I have another favourite actor! He is the best in this whole wide world…handsome, killer looks, fab acting…he is so perfect!" Khushi said grinning, seemingly lost in dreams.
"What the!" Arnav uttered.
"Not what the! What an actor!"
"And can I know his name?"
"Barun…Barun Sobti...my hero!" Khushi said, while bringing her crossed hands to the chin.
"I don't know any Barun Sobti!"
"That's because you are always busy at work! I watch him every day in his show 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon' on TV, the same show that you refused to watch with me and then, all day long, I spend time on India Forums to look for every tiny bit of news on him!"
"Sneaky girl! So, this is why you asked for a laptop! Online shopping or recipes were just excuses, right? You waste time on a forum?"
"I am a big girl! I do what I want and if I want to drool…hmm… I mean watch him, then it's my right! We live in a democratic country, right?"
"You drool on him, Khushi?" Arnav asked frowning his eyebrows.
"Haan to! Everybody does the same on the forum and yes, don't call us stupid because the same people have suggested the idea of clearing the history, which is simply brilliant! The IF girls have much experience about that"
"Would I dare say that?" Arnav said amused by the extent to which Khushi had become a fan girl.
"That's good then! Else, you would have ruined my mood for the party!"
"Which party? Whose party?"
"Barun's party…it's the 21st of August today…Barun's birthday! We are all invited for a virtual party on India forums!"
"Are you serious? All for that guy!" Arnav asked, suppressing his laughter with difficulty.
"Don't make fun of my Barun! He is so cool, chilled out, happy-go-lucky type unlike you who are always short-tempered!"
Sensing that Khushi was getting angry unnecessarily, Arnav tried to save the situation by adding:
"Okay promise! But Khushi, there's one thing in common between me and your Barun, we are both leos!"
"Oh yeah! Even if you don't like bikes, football and cricket, you still are somewhat like Barun! And now you even have the mug in which he loves to drink and we'll be going to his favourite holiday resort for honeymoon!"
"What! So the mug, the honeymoon trip, all these questions…it's all about Barun Sobti!"
With an innocent look adorning her face, Khushi made a puppy face which always worked in her favour.
"But you'll always be the first in my life" Khushi said cupping Arnav's cheeks. "And consider it your good luck that Barun is happily married, else who knows!"
Arnav pulled her by the waist and said: "Thank God he is married! I think all husbands and boyfriends must be feeling the same with crazy girls like you!"
"Khushi, please tell me that when we'll have our child, you are not planning to name him Barun if it's a boy"
"Why? Barun is such a nice name…but I had another name in mind…Ruble!"
"Ruble…cool name!"
"You find it cool…that's great because it's Barun's nickname!"
"What! Can we stop the Barun mania for today now?"
"No way…it's his birthday today and all you'll hear of is Barun, Barun and Barun! Why don't you also join me in the celebrations?"
Hearing these words, Arnav just went as fast as possible to escape, but it was just not his day today. It was Barun's day as he realised that almost all the women of his house – Payal, Anjali Di and even Manorama Mami – were only praising Barun Sobti.
