CHAPTER ONE

KHUSHI'S POV:

"Hey, how are you doing?" My sister Payal asked.

"I'm doing good." I replied.

"Well, you doesn't sound good. Problems with the funny guy?" Ridz piped in. Riddhima Gupta was one of my bestfriend. We went to school together and were inseparable since then. We not only have same surname but also imaginations.

Payal and Ridz both knew about my relationship with Arnav.

"No" I replied. "I have no problems, It's just that it's very difficult to see him leave my apartment everyday, to go with his wife."

"Khushi, you know this relationship will never work. It is best to let it go." Payal said

"Hmm. Tomorrow is his wedding anniversary." I said in a dull voice.

Riddhima said. "Oh."

"He took a leave from the job for a weekend to spend time with his wife, Lavanya." I said while giving a sad smile to both of them. "Let's talk about something else?"

"Okay. We have class in five minutes." Payal said.

"For once, Let's not attend today!" Riddhima said taking my arm. "Let's go shopping. I have to buy a dress for my date with Armaan."

I sighed.

Payal, Riddhima and I went to the mall that was near the university, I knew it was too dangerous to go to Payal and Riddhima to the mall, the huge risk of not going out in 4 or 5 hours, but now I happily accepted that torture in order not to think about Arnav.

"Khushi, is that Arnav?" Riddhima asked me pointing towards cash counter. I turned to see... There was my personal god, my Arnav, I didn't think twice and got up to greet him.

"Hi." I said happily.

"Good afternoon, Khushi Gupta." He said in a very sharp voice, he never spoke to me like that, not even at university.

"There you are.." said a woman standing behind him, she was tall, brunette, dark skinned, and had brown molten eyes. Just as beautiful as those of my Arnav, shit was it was his wife.

"Good afternoon Ma'am. I'm Khushi." I tried to sound calm.

After witnessing the whole scene. Riddhima and Payal immediately came to where we were standing and I thanked god.

"Sorry, she is my wife, Lavanya, and they are my sons, Maan and Aditya." He pointed to two beautiful children who came hand in hand with his wife.

I gave them a bright smile and turned to them. They grinned in response. I stiffed a giggle. They look naughty. Just like my Arnav.

"They are very cute. Thank you for introducing me to them."

"So you are my husband's students?" Lavanya asked with a sincere smile.

"Yes." Riddhima answered.

"Weren't you all supposed to be in class right now?" Arnav asked coldly, seriously, I have never seen him like this.

"We took a day off for keeping things off our mind. Guess we needed the break." Payal answered quietly.

"Well, you should not bunk classes and roam idle." Arnav said sharply.

"Please love, don't get angry on them. Do you our collage days when you used to escape the classes to watch movies with me?" Lavanya said dearly.

I winced. That confession really broke my heart.

"Sorry for interrupting you guys. We should leave now." Riddhima said quietly.

"It was a pleasure to know you Mrs. Raizada." I said nervously.

"The pleasure has been mine." Lavanya said while giving a beautiful smile, God. This women is simply perfect.

I tried to give a fake smile back. "We should leave."

We three left from there as fast as we could.

ARNAV'S POV:

Lavanya is a wonderful woman, she was simple perfect and she gave me the best gift of my life. Maan and Aditya.

My children were my life.

I am the worst scoundrels to cheat on a woman like Lavanya, she and I just got along. We never had any spark between us. Time went on and I got used to her. A part of me wanted my wife to be Khushi. She was everything I wished for, she was the most beautiful women I've ever seen. God, I fall in love with her from the moment I saw her, I was lost in her beautiful hazel eyes.

She smelled like a strawberry.

Her aroma intoxicated me.

It was like a spell.

She will definitely be the death of me.

"Love, are you all right?" Lavanya asked concerned, kicking me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Shall we get going?" I asked.

"I have to get things ready for children to leave them to your parents." Lavanya told me, my parents had given us a weekend in a very exclusive spa in Miami, it was like a mini honeymoon. "I understand." I said with a fake smile and trying to hide the pain, but could not hide the tears fom my eyes that I would not see her for 4 days' 4 long days.

At the parking lot.

"Arnav, aren't these your students?" Lavanya asked seeing the bottom of the parking lot. I saw Khushi who was crying in the arms of Riddhima. Payal was stroking her back as if they were trying to console her, I wanted to run to her and tell her I loved her. Her tears were killing me and it added to my guilt.

"Yes, they are." I said, trying not to look interested.

"We should go to them. Maybe something had happened there." Lavanya alarmed.

"No Lavanya, it's not right for me. I'm their teacher and I should not mix in their lives." I said coldly.

"Well, you can't but I can. I'll go and see if they need something."

This women was very stubborn. I sighed and walked after her.

* * *

"Something happened?" I asked as I approach them.

"Not at all. We are fine." Payal said nervously.

"Why are you crying?" Lavanya asked Khushi.

"It's silly.. -" Khushi lied.

"Please don't fake it now. Tell us the truth." Lavanya asked sternly.

"I just had a fight with my boyfriend. I think he is not interested in me anymore." Khushi said with difficulty.

I looked at her and she turned away.

"Ahh I see, it's not worth to cry for him, you're a beautiful girl. You deserves a man who makes you happy." My wife said trying to console her, and although what she said was true, Khushi deserved someone better. But if I ever imagine her with another man.. My blood boils with jealousy, I know I'm selfish and but Khushi is mine and no one can have her.

"Mrs. Raizada I really appreciate your concern, but I really need to go home now. Thank you." Khushi said quietly.

"It's nothing dear. See you some other time. Please don't waste your tears for that mourn."

I took a discreet glance at Khushi and gave her a small smile. Khushi blinked in response.

Lavanya and I went in the car, I could only think of what Khushi said. 'I think he is not interested in me anymore'. I sighed. I have to make things right now. I can't afford to lose her.

"Poor girl" My wife murmured. I kept mum again.

* * *

When we arrived the room, I was thinking about Khushi. How am I supposed to make things right? Just then Lavanya went to the kitchen and I took the opportunity to enter the bathroom and quickly typed a message for Khushi.

I'm really sorry for behaving like that Khushi, We seriously need to talk about this. I love you.. I really do. Please reply me back. Don't ever think of leaving me. - Yours, Arnav.

After sending the message, I lay down on bed. I know I was acting desperate, but I did not care, I just wanted her to know that I really care for her.

I was a selfish pig but she was all worth it.

I know many of you are hating me for putting Lavanya good, but you should remember that anything that glitters is not gold.
