Chapter 2:You Are My Life, My Soul

Arnav had closed his eyes in defeat. He wanted death to take over. He had lost everything of importancein his life. He had no wish to live. He wanted to run to his mother and seek her protection. He just wanted to lay his head on her lap and ask her to put him to sleep while she sang him a lullaby. He was tired and defeated. He wanted peace and only his mother would be able to provide him with that.

And so Arnav Singh Raizada went into the battle of life and death with full intention of loosing. For the first time in his life, he didn't want to win. For the first time in his life he wanted to loose so as to not cause more pain to the ones he love.

Arnav Singh Raizada wanted to lose in the battle of his life and death.

And thus in his battle, he became unconscious and his real battle started.

The ambulance was there already. Akash and NK had together lifted and placed him inside not waiting for the nurses to come out. Akash and everyone sat in the suv to follow them except khushi who refused tobe parted from arnav. She knelt down next to his body which was now shivering in pain. She held his hand and squeezed it with all her might. Tears had flooded her eyes as the pain to lose her husband had raged havoc in her heart. The moment arnav had pulled the trigger, all hell broke loose in her heart. It was as though someone had slowly and painfully brought a knife near her heart and painfully stabbed her. She knew that she would die without arnav.

She would make him live. Live for her. But something happened at that second that her heart skipped a beat. The monitor showing his pulses was deteriorating.

The doctor inside the ambulance was now in panic as he knew that if arnav hadn't the will to live, there was nothing actually possible in the medical field to save arnav.

Dr: Patient's heart rate is deteriorating. He is going into cardiac arrest. Nurse get the

Defibrillator ready.

Hell broke loose on khushi's heart as she saw the straight line on the monitor. Arnav was now clinically dead. Numbness took over khushi as she saw the doctor giving arnav CPR.

The doctor removed khushi's hand from arnav as he had to give the Defibrillator to arnav. The electric charge that would determine the life or the death of mr and mrs Arnav Singh Raizada.

Dr: first charge ready, all clear

And he applied the shock to arnav. His body raised and fell as the shock went coursing through arnav's heart to bring him back to life.

Dr: nurse check for pulse.

Nurse: still no pulse doctor.

Dr: Charge again. 150 percent

And the shock was applied again to arnav. But to no avail. There was still no pulse.

This was the third and the last charge they would be allowed to place. It was now or nothing.

Dr: charge set at 200 percent. All clear.

And he applied the charge again.

Dr: nurse, the oulse.

Nurse looked at doctor with sad eyes and replied,

Nurse: no pulse doctor. We have lost him.

Those were the words which tore khushi's world apart.

WE HAVE LOST HIM.

How could she loose him. She always believed in god. Today she was ready to fight with all of them for her husban's life and if she doesn't get that she would take her own life. As there would be no happiness in her life without her husband.

Arnav Nahin toh khushi nahin.

Was literal in both ways. She wouldn't be happy without him and if he isn't there, there was no point of her existence. But she had to put up a fight for her suhaag, her sindoor, her life.

She took his lifeless body into her arms and claimed his lips with ferocity. All she could taste was his blood oozing from his mouth.

The nurse went to give support to khushi and pull her off him but the doctor asked her not to interfere. He had never seen a couple so connected in his life. There was only one thing left. A miracle could save arnav's life. Only a miracle.

Khushi felt anger seep through her as she felt noresponse of her kiss on him. Blind rage and anger on herself and her fate to loose arnav in such a manner. She took her hands high up in the air and brought them crashing down on arnav's chest.

Beep beep.

And silence.

Arnav was in a dark place. He noticed that he was standing on a bridge of sort. He turned around to reciece the shock of his life. He saw his mother(Alisha Singh Raizada)

Alisha: I meet you at last son.

Arnav: ma?

Alisha: yes son. Its me. I have come here to make you change your mind.

Arnav: what?

Alisha: you have no business to die here.

Arnav: but ma, what is the use of a life where I have only caused pain. To those whom I love.

Alisha: wounds can heal son but the devastation your death will cause will be severe.

Arnav: how can I go back ma? How can I undo the things that I have done? The pain I have caused has no ailment.

Alish came forward with anger coursing through her. She was always known to be soft and arnav had never seen this side of her. The anger in her eyes were evident proof that he had made a mistake. he faltered under his mother's gaze.

Alisha: LOOK AT ME.

She shouted when arnav had lowered his gaze. As soon as he heard her scream, he looked into her eyes.

Alisha: whatever I may have taught you or failed to teach you, I am damn well sure I didn't teach you to be a COWARD. How dare you run away from you responsibilities? I taught you better than that. You are better than this.

Arnav: but ma,

Alisha: shut up and listen to me.

Arnav was silenced.

Alisha: you say you have given pain to others in the form of hatred. You say that you have caused grievous wounds which has no ailment. You are WRONG. There is one medicine. There is one cure. But you should be ready to give it.

Arnav: what is it ma?

Alisha: Love.

There was silence as she cupped her son's face in her hands and kissed his forehead.

Alisha: give your love to her unconditionally and you will heal her wounds arnav.

Arnav: you know about her?

Alisha: of course. How could I ever leave my chottey alone when he wont let anyone care for himself. So I had to do it for you. But now I think I don't need to look after you. Khushi is doing that for me.

She showed arnav the vision of how khushi was crying over his body.

Khushi: you cannot leave me like this arnav. My parents did, but I wont let you go.

She placed her hand over his heart.

Khushi: this heart belongs to me. how dare your ego ask it to stop. How dare you leave me arnav singh raizada? You have no right to ask it to stop beating. It has to beat. For me,for us. One time, for the last time, give me your heart.

And she kissed him again and hit him hard over his heart.

Beep beep

Beep beep

arnav smiled looking at khushi.

Arnav: thanks for stopping me from making the biggest mistake of my life. I will never again quit.

Alisha: now there is the chottey I always loved. The never Give Up attitude in you is what has always made me and your dad proud.

Arnav: dad(devendra mallik)?

Devendra: I am here too son.

Arnav turned to hug his dad. He felt so happy. His heart was full of life. It was finally alive after such a long time.

Devendra: I hope your mom's lecture was enough son?

He chuckled as Alisha hit him on his shoulder.

Arnav felt complete. All his pain of loosing his parents had gone the second he knew that they had never actually left him. They had always lived inside him. In his very heart. Protecting him and looking out for him.

Arnav: do you have anything to say pops?

Devendra: just one. Listen to your motor mouth mother word to word and follow it with all your heart.

The vision of his parents slowly started to fade.

Arnav: is all this real or is it just happening in my head?

Devendra and Alisha smiled.

Devendra: of course this is happening inside your head, but why on earth should that mean its not real.

Alisha: Anyway we have to go and you have to return to live and also give khushi the love she deserves. Never give up on her.

Arnav lifted his fist and pointed it towards them as though making a promise.

Arnav: give up the idea that I'll give up.

And slowly everything faded around him again as he was brought back to life by his khushi.

Faint beeps were heard and all the hair on the doctors body stood on end as he saw a miracle take place. He saw the faint blips on the monitor showing the faint pulses of his patient, the one whom he had already declared dead, come back to life.

The doctor immediately put the oxygen mask on arnav to make him breathe.

Khushi felt happy as she heard the beats. They were the same inside her as well.

Both there beats were synchronized. Their hearts beat as one.

Dr: ma'am he isn't yet out of danger but I can say that he is fighting for his life. He is fighting to stay alive. Just pray for him as we go in the operation room.

Khushi waited with others as the operation on arnav had started.

The doctor looked at the wound but was completely taken aback. This was truly a miracle. But now he had to concentrate on bringing arnav out of danger.

After about 2 hours of surgery the doctor finally stepped outside the operation room.

Dr: congrats, Mr.Arnav Singh Raizada is out of danger.

There were cheers from the entire raizada family and the doctor too rejoiced as this was the first time he had ever witnessed this. The whole family were completely soulless when he had come out and as soon as he had broken the news to them he saw the life return to each and everyone's life.

He was amazed how much difference his patient's life could result in the family.

Akash and nk came and thanked the doctor.

Dr: please thank god. It was his doing. I had no role to actually save him.

Everyone looked at him confused.

Dr: arnav Singh Raizada had shot himself 5 times. But the miracle about it isthat the other 4 bullets had taken the same trajectory through his body. thus he was actually only one gunshot. Plus his lone gunshot has also missed not only his organs but also all the major veins and arteries inside him.

All were shocked. It was indeed god's grace. Anjali immediately stood and walked to the temple to offer her thanks and khushi silently prayed to her devi maiyya thanking her for the same.

A day had passed since the operation and khushi had been with him in his ward.

All the 24 hours she sat near him holding his hand. Giving kisses on his hands momentarily.

Arnav's eyelids moved and akash ran to call the doctor.

Arnav: khushi

Arnav said in a weak voice. The first words out of his mouth was her name.

Khushi's happiness was the same as the happiness of a mother who first hears her child call her ma. She was so happy that arnav had called out to her. She went and looked into his eyes. There was something different she saw there.

The pain in his eyes which used to tormenthim was gone. It was replaced by love.

Looking at this her eyes filled up with tears.

Arnav slightly shook his head and with great difficulty he took his trembling hands and wiped the tear that had escaped her eyes.

Arnav: no more tears khushi. I cant stand them.

Khushi smiled.

Arnav: I love you khushi.

Khushi's smile widened and she hugged him.

Khushi: I love you too arnav.

Arnav found peace in her embrace. He was totally complete.

Arnav looked toward the sky outside the window,

Arnav(thinking): thanks ma, thanks pa.

The doctor came and had a huge smile on his face seeing khushi and arnav like that.

He carried out his routine check on arnav. When he was finished he went outside.

Everyone followed the doctor to ask him various questions regarding arnav's health.

Dr(thinking): the more they love a patient the more my life is made hell by answering silly questions. God please don't take this hell from me.

inside the room arnav was still staring at khushi and khushi was staring at arnav.

Arnav pulled khushi onto the side of his bed. He used his hand to catch her head and pulled her in to claim her lips. Khushi completely taken aback by his move found that she had lost herself in him and began kissing back. Arnav pushed his tongue inside her mouth and explored her. Khushi felt herself to rise above all else. The love he was showering on her was proven by this kiss. He kissed her tightly, passionately, slowly, harshly and intimately. Finally when he broke the kiss to allow her to breathe. he smirked as he saw her face flush. She was blushing profusely. her cheeks had reddened.

Arnav: my wife, my lovely tomato.

Arnav smiled and kissed her cheek.

He put his head back on his pillow and khushi cuddles on arnav and kept her head on his chest over his heart and a smile on her lips as both closed their eyes and slept peacefully for the first time in years.

i will be writing an epilogue for this...so the next chp will be the last for the os. hope u liked this one as well... let me tell you, this one was a bit difficult as i had a lot of thinking to do...finally everything fell into place and i am really happy with the way it turned out. what say? comment and tell me...😊
