Arnav whispers...

A: Khushi?

K: mmm?

A: Kuch hua?

K: haan...she nods her head.

How does she tell him about the circus that just went ballistic in her body? The rushes. The urges. The pounding of her heart as though it was just going to race out of her. How?

Arnav... releases himself from her...and steps back. He cups her face in his hands and looks into her almond brown eyes. Khushi was ready to crumble at that moment. He looks deeper into her eyes...and smiles.

A: Muje bhi!!!

PART 3

Arnav walks away, leaving Khushi in a state of daze. Her mouth agape. Her fingers touched her neck. She could still feel the tingling. She blushed and smiled. Arnav steps back to take a peek back at her. He sees her smile. She catches him looking at her and embarrassment overcomes her. He winks at her and disappears downstairs. Khushi runs into the bathroom'.hoping to run from all that's just happened. She splashes cold water over her face and instructs her throbbing heart to get a grip on itself. She takes a few deep breaths. Calm down Khushi. ..she tells herself.

Its getting dark now and HP asks Arnav if her should lay out dinner. Arnav told him to go ahead and also go call Khushi. A few minutes a very self-conscious Khushi walks down the steps to the dining table. She walks into the kitchen and asks HP to call Arnav for dinner from the living room' there was no way she could see him eye to eye. As she brought the last pot of food to the dinning room, she saw Arnav now sitting at the table''DHAK DHAK DHAK. "Shhhshhh"'she told her heart. "Not now...chup!!!"'.and she clenched her fist to her heart. Arnav could tell she was uncomfortable'.still enjoying every minute of this poor girls innocence!

A: Khushi'chalo. Betho.

K: Haan...and she sits beside him.

Arnav serves her some curry and roti and all she could do was just stare at plate. She was still fighting all her little daemons in her head.

A: Khushi? Khushi? He said louder...Kahan ho tum?

K: Uh? Kuch nahi.

A: To khana shuru kare? Tume aur kuch chaiye?

K: Nai'yeh theek hai.

Suddenly, the lights go out and Arnav felt Khushi flint in fear. He knows she is scared of the dark. He slips his hand on her lap'.

A: Khushi'its ok. I'm here.

Khushi grabs his arm with both hands and pulls herself closer. She tucks her face into him, looking for comfort from this blackness around her.

A Shouts: HP!! HP!! Yeh generator kyun nahi chalu hua? Zara dekho to? OP OP'bring some candles... fast!

OP had already lit a few candles and was heading to the table with them. "Yeh lo Arnav babu!...Me Hari Prakash aur generator ko dekhke atta hun. Pata nahi, kyun itni der kar di? Hamesha ki tarha shuru nahi hua." And he leaves to the back yard.

A whispers: Khushi? Ankhen kholo. Dekho candle agayi.

He gently lifts her chin and nudges her face to see the flickering light of the candle.

A: Tum theek ho?

Khushi nods. He looks at her. Her eyes looking back into his. They are saying "Thank you". He smiles back with a silent "You're welcome!"

They continue their meal by candle light in silence. Arnav is still holding her hand under the table. She willing welcomes this comfort. Ever so often, he stole a glance at her'..each glance piercing her every bone!

After a while, HP and OP return saying that the generator seems to have a problem, but being Sunday the electrician will also be unavailable, so they will have to make do with candles tonight. He goes to light more candles to place around the house. At this point, Khushi and Arnav both recollect the time his Ac created a power outage at GH. How ironic was that - Arnav Singh Raizaida's house can have a blackout too!!

I'll try and write a bit more tonight. Arnav gets a feeling that there is more to what he knows ..but how can he go about resolving this confusion about Shyam and Khushi. Surely Khushi cannot be so conniving. Having seen her in her home territory, he could not see an ounce of ill will in her or her family and he was liking the moments when they were not fighting. It just seemed so right. They were meant for each other.
