Happiness. Unadulterated and complete. That's what I received from reading this Fan fiction. I told you once that I am 100% sure that you are a brilliant writer because your comments were always very insightful.
And never have I been more pleased to say that I was so damn right.
Once upon a time- There were two good friends who also liked each other. In between all the affection and attraction there was also a tiny sapling of love which would have grown up beautifully.
Happily ever after- Maybe sometimes you do get those too in real life.
But there are a lot of grey patches between the 'once upon a time' and 'happily ever after'. Fate is an attention wh**e, I think. It routinely throws tantrums and puts a spanner in your work. Just like it did to Arnav and Khushi. Ten years is a long, long time. I can't even imagine it in my head clearly. Seething in all those misunderstandings. How would have Arnav felt? And Khushi?

But the satisfaction that came when those misunderstandings that all the long years had heaped over their shoulders had crumbled was so...so sweet. It brought a wonderful possibility for them to be together as life partners even as the fate that couldn't keep them apart fumed in impotent rage.
I really like the way you weave warm beating hearts in your story so nonchalantly. I admire and envy that ease a lot. Like the way Arnav and Khushi both kept the photograph of their teenage years with themselves after all those years. The way Arnav proposed to Khushi. He wasn't comfortable doing it, he is a man of action not words, and yet he did it all because he knew it would make Khushi happy. The way Arnav looked at Khushi in the mirror when she had draped on the red saree.
The effulgence of Khushi's character and the complex depths of Arnav's love were so artfully woven in this delightful fic that I am in awe.
I don't believe in happily ever afters. There can be no one stretch of life. There will be some lows and some highs. But once in a while, just once in a while, life gives us those moments which we'll cherish forever. In those moments there lies a world of potential. In those moments everything is possible. In those moments you feel that you have received your happily ever after.
I don't know whether Arnav and Khushi will live in that moment forever but their love is strong and they know how to keep each other happy.
If that isn't a happily ever after, I don't know what is.
