Part 5:

Gupta House

The door bell rang and Khushi who had taken Nikki in her arms rushed to the door to open it.. She opened the door with a smile feeling it must be NK.. She opened the door and said. "NK.. kitni der laga di .." She was surprised to see Arnav and Arnav was frustrated to hear again "NK"'s name from her mouth..

Arnav: Arnav .. Its Arnav Khushi.. Not NK..

Khushi was surprised. Why was he here? And where is NK? But more than knowing the answers of her question she was all scared of the fact that he again have noticed her concern for NK rather than him. She turned not to face him.

Shashi (Khushi's father) saw Arnav at the door and rushed towards him to welcome him inside. This is the first time in this 9 months that Arnav had come to Gupta House. All the financial matters that he had resolved for Shashi was always done from his office. He never ever cared to visit Khushi's family. It was not required he thought. Then why

has he come today. Whatever the reason was, he was the Son in law of this house and thus had to be greeted.

Shashi: Arnav.. Glad to see you here.. Come in Beta.. Why are you standing here.. Khushi.. Cant you welcome him in?

Khushi gave a weak smile to her father and walked behind him and Arnav. Garima, Buaji all were surprised at his visit. He greeted them all and then was served with juice and sweets by Payal. Payal handed the sweets to him and Arnav was about to take it when Khushi interrupted:

Khushi: Jiji.. inhe meetha mana hai..

Arnav and Khushi both looked at each other.. He could see the care and concern for him in her eyes.

Payal: Arre haan.. Hum toh bhool hi gaye.. Hum aapke liye Coffee leke aate hai.

Arnav: Payal isski koi zarurat nahi. Tum baitho.. Khushi mere liye coffee banaake laayegi. Hai naa Khushi?

Khushi gave him a blank look.. Why She? She knew he hated her.. Then why does he want her to make coffee for him? She again gave a confused look to him and went to the Kitchen. Niki was still in her arms.

Arnav excused himself from the rest and followed her to the Kitchen. All the others were surprised at this action from Arnav. They all knew he was desperately waiting for the 3 months to pass to get rid of their daughther then why was he behind her? Following her? First to the Gupta house.. And now in the Gupta House kitchen?

Khushi reached the kitchen and started preparing the coffee..

Khushi: Najaane apne aap ko kya samajhte hai.. Kabhi chot pahuchaate hai aur kabhi.. (She remembered the pool scene when they were very close to each other and when he was about to lick the water droplet from her cheeks.) She blushed.

Niki: Maasi.. Are you blushing? (She asked innocently and in a sleepy tone) and accidently pressed khushi's wrist on her bruise..

Khushi: Aah!! (She watched the bruise and remembered the Lift incident..And a tear drop fell down her cheek again.

She was about to wipe her cheeks when suddenly he hold her hand.

Arnav: Khushi.. Yehh kaise? I mean...

Khushi removed her hands from his and turned to prepare the coffee again..

Khushi: Aap ko isse matlab? Aap yahan kya kar rahe hai..? Aap yahan se ...

Arnav: Dont you ever dare ask me to go out from here.. Understood? (He said this leaning towards her).

Khushi immediately passed Niki from her to his hands and turned again. Now Arnav was holding Niki in his arms like Khushi did before..

Arnav: What The..!! Why did you make me hold her?

Khushi: Hum aapki Coffee bana rahe hai.. Aap agar thodi der usse uthaaege toh koi farak nahi padega.

Niki had never been in her chachu's arms before. This was the first time he had picked her. He felt nice. Niki was sleepy and thus Khushi was carrying her to make her sleep in her arms. It had been 5 minutes Khushi was still loitering here and there in the Kitchen and Arnav holding Nikki... Nikki hugging him and in deep sleep. Khusi finished making his COffee and handed it to him.

Khushi: Lijiye.. Aapki Coffee..

Arnav: Tum agar Nikki ko apne paas lene ka kasht (trouble) karogi.. toh main Coffee pee sakunga..

Khushi saw Niki sleeping in his arms and extended her hands to take her back from this Monsters hands. Niki's chain had stuck to Arnav's Shirt and it was pricking Arnav seriously.

Arnav: God!! Why do childrens have to wear all this stuff..Why are you looking at me like that Khushi.. Just take it out..

Khushi was concerned for him once again. She raised her hands to remove the chain and had to open his first two buttons. Some strange feeling invoked in Arnav. Her fingers carressed his chest unknowingly and he liked that. God knows why he felt this way when she touched him. Khushi was still unable to remove the stuck chain. All this time, she had her eyes glued on the chain and his shirt whereas Arnav's eyes scanned her face.. Her eyes, her cheeks which still had the mark of her dried tears. Her wrists were close to his lips during this action and he could see the red bruise clearly now. He held Niki from one hand and held Khushi's wrist from the other but this time not angrily but slowly and passionately without breaking his eye lock with her. She could not understand what was he going to do. He brought it near his lips, opened his mouth and placed a warm wet Kiss on the bruise and licked it. She was stunned to his actions. Never ever she thought he would do that. He had that right though but still. This is not meant to happen in this 3 months.. She cannot let him do all this lovey dovey things with her, claim her and then ask her to get lost from his life after the contract is over, No way she thought. She removed her hand from his and again concentrated on the chain and his shirt.. though she knew this was like a Mission Impossible for her after that wet kiss. She still continued not looking at him at all. He again held her hand, pinned her back to the Kitchen slab and this time placed a similar wet kiss on her shoulder bone. Her eyes opened wide as he also licked her shoulder and was in no mood to stop. His actions were making her get wet now. But she would never give up to this. She pushed him harder this time only for him to move two steps back and Niki to wake up. Khushi removed the chain from Niki's neck, picked Niki from his arms and ran out of the Kitchen left with a Cold coffee and Arnav with the top 2 buttons open of his shirt and the chain still hanging there.

Khushi still could not believe what he did in the kitchen. This guy was really unpredictable. It was just today afternoon that he had almost forced in to her in the lift and now in the evening he tried to make up for those things. But this time it had a different feeling from her side too. She was breathing hard and it was harder for her to control what was happening to her. Payal saw Khushi and came near her.

Payal: Khushi tum theek ho.. Arre yeh Niki sogai kya? Aur isske gale ki chain kahan hai ? I am sure Niki ne kahi gira di hogi.

Khushi was in no mood to answer her jiji. She saw Arnav coming out of the Kitchen and she was becoming more conscious. His hair was little messed up due to his earlier actions, his shirt buttons were closed now. He had removed his waist coat and it was in his hands.. May be he was feeling damm hot. He looked little tired and he was walking

towards her. He came to her and without even looking at her he extended his hands to give Khushi Niki's chain.

Khushi in no time grabbed it from him and made Nikki wear it again. They both were quite uncomfortable now in each others presence.

Arnav: Its too late.. I think hume chalna chahiye Payal..

Payal: Arre haan.. Hum abhi sab se keh dete hai..

Khushi: Jiji.. Hum bhi aate hai.. (She didnt want to be alone with him again...)

Arnav was pissed at her reactions. Did he do anything wrong that she is ignoring him more than before? Well I will how long can she ignore me, he thought and walked behind them.

Payal and Khushi took the blessings of the family and headed towards Arnavs vehicle. Before Payal could enter the backseat, Khushi rushed in and took her seat.

Payal: Khushi.. Tum peeche nahi baith sakti.. Aage baitho..

Khushi: Nahi jiji.. Hum yahan theek hai.. Aap aage baith jaiye..

Payal could notice some tension between Khushi and Arnav since the time they were alone in the Kitchen.. What had happened for Khushi to turn so tensed and shocked, she had to know this.. May be later she can question her sister.

She sat in the front seat with Niki in her arms and Arnav drove. He was continuosly checking Khushi from the mirror and could see how uncomfortable she is even sitting behind him.. They reached RM and got down. Without a single word, Khushi went inside only to be called by Anjali.

Anjali: Arre.. Aap aagaye...Aapke ghar mein sab kaise hai Khushi?

Khushi was in no mood to talk to anyone..

Khushi: Di.. Hum bahut thak gaye hai.. Hum aapse kal baat karte hai.. (Saying that she rushed into her room. Arnav saw her going and he too was went in his room and closed the door. Anjali and Payal both gave some confused looks and left)

Arnav could not sleep that night. Her thoughts, her innocent face, her smile, her touch, her fragrence everything related just to her haunted his mind, his thoughts. He kept turning on the bed, tried all his best not to think about her, not to dream about her, but all in vain. He was totally into her. If this feeling was for the next 3 months, it was still fine with him.. But what if he could not isolate from it even after these 3 months, after she has gone..?? No way.. he wont let that happen. He is the one to write his own destiny and now He would be the one to write her destiny too for the next 3 months. She cannot ignore him. Not at all...
