Part 7
Khushi was in no mood to study or say her final good byes to anyone or anything in school. All she did was hold that rose close to her heart. She looked down, blushed, smiled and by only moving her pink lips. She whispered, ever so softly... thank you. She knew he was looking. From where. She didnt know. But she could feel his heart beat near. Her heart felts his heart beating. He was close. Close enough for him to see her. She didnt look up or try to look for him. She felt shy. It was the first time someone gave her a rose. And that to. Someone whom she actually wanted to accept it from. She smiled and turned around and sat on the chair. She placed the rose gently on the table and tilted her head. She rested her head on or hand and held the note in the other. Still looking at the rose.
Arnav smiled. His smirk now became a smile. He was content, pleased that she was pleased. He queitly walked out. Making sure that no one saw him or heard him leave.
'bhai...bhai'.., arnav heard someone calling him out from the hallway. It was akash. Arnav turned around.
Akash; bhai this is the second time today you are smiling. What is up. You feeling ok. Are you .. is there a girl... hmmm hmmm... come one tell me. I told you about me a khushi. You have to tell me about her...
aranv just stared at him angrily. How was he to take his and khushis name when akash just took it with his. He denied the fact. And turned around to walk back to class.
Akash: bhai.. fine dont tell me. But I dont feel so well. The nurse says I have a fever. I spoke to ma and she said that we should come outside before the next period, she will pick us up.
Aranv argreed. And they also got anjali from her class. They didnt have enough time to tell khushi or payal. Arnav wanted to tell her, but couldnt. His brother and sister needed him. His was their brother, and the eldest. All three met mm outside and went home. Mm took akash to the doctors and found out that he had the chiken poxs. Mm seemed to see a bit of a tiresome face on arnav as well. Turned out that he was also catching on the same chicken pox virus. Anajli was fine. Mm took them all home and made arnav and akash go straight to bed. Anajli was told to stay away from them and mm for the next couple of days. Anajli packed her bags and asked if she could go and stay at khushis before they move. She could also help them pack. Mm called garima and anajli went over to kushis place.
After school khushi searched for anajli. And akash. But her eyes wanted to see only arnav. She knew that if those two were near. Than arnav was not far. She got worried when she didnt see them on the bus on the way back. She reached home with payal and was shocked to see anjali there. Anajli told her how both of her brothers had gotten sick. Khushi was worried. She couldn;t express her concern. Not infront of anyone. And she would not be allowed to go. She wanted to go and take care of him. But she woulndt be allowed to go. If anjali was sent over so she didnt get sick, then how on earth would khushi be allowed to enter there.
Finally moving day arrived. And mm wasnt able to come because of the boys. Prakash had come over to get anjali and say the final good byes to the guptas from his family. The movers came and started to load the stuff.
Anajli": khushi I couldnt find your payal. But I got you this cute teddy bear. You can hug it and think that you are hugging me. ok. She said with a smile and gave it to khushi. She also got payal one. But of a different colour. The girls hugged each other and sat in the car. Shashi and garima bid farewell to the raizadas and were off to their new home. The drive seemed never to end. Khushi had placed the rose in a book. And made it flat. She held the book close to her on the ride home.
Tears gently made their way down khushis eyes as she stared outside of the window. Garima noticed it and asked her if she was ok. And what ever God does in life is always done for a reason. She reassured khushi that everything will be fine and that they will make new friends. Payal was excited. She was finally going to get her own room.
Khushi just held the book close to her heart and sighed. Staring aimlessly out of the window.
Months passed but arnav never came over the their guptas. Anajli, mm and prakash did come over. The boys never did. Prakash found no reason for them to go along. When ever the guptas use to go over to the raizadas for holidays such as diwali, and what not. There were always too many people around for them to even see each other. If they were lucky, they might be able to get a glance of each other. Khushi had gotten a new email address. And gave it to anjali. She wrote it on a piece of paper with her name right above of it, and put it on anjalis desk. The guptas went home and anajli went to her room. She was too tired to even notice anything on her desk. Diwali had been a long a tiring day for her. Mm asked arnav to go and make sure that anjali was asleep. Arnav went in to check up on his sister. And noticed the paper on her desk. It said khushi. He immediately grabbed it, copied it onto his phone and put it back.
He wanted to talk to her. It had been ages since he even saw her. He only had her payal. Which he still held close to his heart. He would look at it every night before going to bed and would wake up to its sound every morning. In his dreams, he would always remember the times that they had spent near the pool. And even the one time that he saw khushi dancing in the rain. He was surviving with those memories of her. But he needed more to survive. He needed her. Which he could not get. At least if he just spoke to her. He would have something more to hold on to.
He quickely opened up his computer and started to write a long email. He wanted to write out eveyrthing. And anything. He just wanted to talk to her. He wrote his name at the end. But stopped. Would she write back. Would she even read what he wrote. no.. she wouldnt. She would feel too shy or hessitant. He knew one of the girls in his class, that was also friends with khushi. He devised a plan. He asked his friend to talk to khushi. And email her. Saying that she got her email from anajali. And later introduce arnav as another friend. But not arnav. She would recognize that. He made up a new email address, just for her. One that was only meant for her. And a new name. Aish. He was now aish for her and her only.
His planned seemed to work. His friend managed to convince khushi to talk to her 'cousin' from india.' she made up a million excuses as to why she should at least talk to him once or twice. He needed friends, and thought that khushi would be a good friend to him. After many attempts khushi agreed.
But for some odd reason, when she received the first email. Her heart started to beat harder and louder. She held her chest with her hand. And closed her eyes. All that she could see was arnav. Why was her heart beating so hard with his face in her mind. This was not arnav. It was someone named aish. She sighed. How she wished it would be arnav. But she only hoped. She started slowly talk to him time and again. But as their friendship grew they spoke more frequently. As she got to know aish better. She always had a feeling that she knew him. She asked him a couple of times, but he said he lived in india, and they had never met.
Arnav always smiled whenever khushi asked him. But he didnt want her to freak out. Or become uncomfortable. This new alias, was perfect for them. It was something that they both had only for the both of them. No one else ever knew. But them.
Years passed. Meeting with each others families slowly decreased. Distance always plays a role in the strength of a relationship. Be it friendship or relationship. It always has a heavy price to pay.
Khushi got into a canadian univeristy and managed to get her parents to agree to send her there. It was University of Toronto. She got into the medical program there. She packed her bags and was off.
Precap. GUESS WHO ELSE IS THERE :D :D :D as the senior. Heheheh..now they will be all alone. Mua ha ha. See distance does bring one closer than before. Writing up the next part tom.
Dont forget to comment and like. Thanks guys
