Geet opened her eyes slowly as she took in the new day. Maan's body shifted restlessly behind her, Geet sighed, glowing in the feeling of Maan's warm body pressed all along the length of her. His warm breath tickled the nape of her neck and his stubbled jaw was buried into the crook of her neck. Geet wriggled closer with a satisfied smile on her face, as his hand pressed over her belly. She didn't think she could be any happier than she already was. She was carrying the symbol of their love in her womb and was in the arms of her husband. She blushed as she remembered what had transpired last night and again this morning. They had made love in the wee hours of the morning. Few minutes later, she shifted her position to face him. Her hands went around his chest and their legs tangled, she rubbed her foot along his calf. She heard him sigh loudly as he opened his eyes to pierce her soul.
"Can I thank you again?" He spoke.
She grinned rubbing her face in his chest "You already did, many times"
His hand went around her shoulder as he pulled her closer to him.
"What do you want? A boy or a girl?" he heard her ask him as she looked up at him running her hands lazily over his chest.
He ran the tip of his finger over her eyebrow before cupping her cheek "Surprise me"
She smiled widely. "This surprise wasn't enough for you? You want more?"
He leaned in to lightly touch her lips which still managed to tingle her toes. When he felt her sigh, his lips curled into a smile. He pulled back a little to see her face, "Kiss me Geet" he spoke throatily. Her heart flipped at a simple request and she lifted her head towards him. Placing a hand over his cheek, she gave him what he asked for and some more. Their mouths met, sending hot shivers down their bodies, a need to be together, an escape for the feelings filled in their hearts. As Maan's hands moved around her curves, she moaned his name fighting the urge to fall over the edge. When Maan ended the kiss, he brushed his lips slightly against her and was rewarded with another sigh. He chuckled.
He grabbed her hand and pressed it over his heart. "It doesn't matter what we have Geet. What matters is that the baby is healthy. What matters is that we are going to be proud parents of a little one. What matters is that you have a tiny little being growing inside of you." He swallowed the sudden lump in his throat. How do you explain the feeling of knowing that you have created a life with the woman you love. He just hoped his actions spoke louder than the words and his Mishti would understand him and she did.
He saw the glistening in her eyes as they filled with moisture. Maan was a man of few words and seeing him sharing his feelings was a lot for Geet. He propped himself on one elbow, his head over his palm as he hovered over her. "Hormones making you cry already?" he gave her his lopsided grin and her stomach flipped. She smiled back at him through her tears as his face came closer planting a kiss on her nose.
She let out a heated breath and ran her hands lightly over his arms and shoulders before placing them behind his neck. Maan pulled her up and gathered her in his arms hugging tightly. "I am so glad you are in my life"
"Me too" she spoke softly "me too"

Maan and Geet sat in the examination room. Geet shifted anxiously in her chair as Maan placed a hand over hers. "Relax Geet. The doctor will be here any minute"
The door opened and a nurse walked in. She checked Geet's blood pressure and asked her to change into a gown. They waited patiently for another couple of minutes before the doctor came to see Geet.
"Hello, Mrs. Khuraana. How are you?" The doctor asked as she shook hands with Geet and gave a curt nod to Maan.
"Nervous" Geet chuckled.
"It's normal, but there is nothing to be nervous about." She put on a pair of gloves as she asked Geet to lay down on the examination seat.
"Since it's early in pregnancy, I will do a trans vaginal ultrasound to take a look at your uterus." The doctor explained the procedure to them while Maan held Geet's hand securely letting her know that he was right there with her.
"There is your uterus, that's the sac and there is the baby" The doctor pointed at the screen and explained. "Congratulations"
Geet and Maan looked at eachother with confusion in their eyes.
"That..…That is the baby?" Maan muttered.
The doctor chuckled before she replied "Yes, the baby is the size of a kidney bean and looks like you are 8 weeks pregnant."
Geet looked at her in bewilderment "8 weeks?"
Maan squeezed her hand as the whole baby thing turned to reality in front of his eyes. He couldn't make out the exact features in the grainy picture on the screen but his heart swelled with love and pride. Geet felt his lips on her hand and she turned towards him. Their eyes met for a brief moment before Maan eyes turned towards the screen once again. Geet bit her lower lip to stop herself from crying out of happiness.
The doctor nodded in response "Every thing looks fine. I would like you to come see me once a month to monitor your pregnancy"
With that she left them alone for Geet to change back into her dress. As they walked out of the hospital, Geet was still phased out as she walked a few paces behind Maan. The first encounter with their baby had left a deep mark on both of them. Suddenly Maan turned as he realized Geet was left behind. He smiled widely and let out a small laugh and walked back swiftly as he gathered her in his arms.

Savitri Devi was ecstatic with the news; she was going to a great-grand mother of not one but two babies. She was happy for Maan and Geet but her heart cried for Naintara and Dev. Only if Dev had not made some mistakes in the past, he could be happy too with Naintara and his own kid. She would be happy seeing both her grandsons enjoying the pleasures of life, becoming a father being one of them. She watched as the two bickered about something and smiled. Maan and Geet fought over trivial things but she knew that they loved each other more than anything else in the world.
"I was born in Hoshiarpur too, you know" Geet stood with her hands on her hips.
"I have made up my mind and we are not discussing this any further" Maan retorted back.
"Uh Ho, ab kya ho gaya? What are you two fighting about?" Savitri Devi made her way to the sofa and took a seat. Geet was quick on her feet as she came and sat beside her.
"Dekhiye na Daadima, Maan kisi ki baat nahi sun rahe" she shot an accusing look at her husband.
"Lekin baat kya hai? Koi hume bhi batayega?" She looked at the two adults as they fought like kids right in front of her eyes.
"Rano mom wants Geet to have the baby in Hoshiarpur as per some stupid reeti riwaaz" he spoke exasperated.
"Reeti riwaaz are not stupid" Geet retorted. When Geet and Maan had given the news of Geet's pregnancy, Rano had told them about the custom where the girl has her first baby delivered in her maternal house and asked them if they wanted to follow that. A little information to which Maan had reacted instantly, in a very bad way. Though, he didn't say anything to Rano but was quick to put his thoughts in front of his wife.
"I don't care. You are not going anywhere."
"And who is going to stop me?" her nostrils flaring, she tried her best to put up a strong front. She didn't know if she wanted to go to Hoshairpur away from him but she wasn't going to let him win so easily.
"I will" He stood in front of her, his eyes matching her fury.
"Ek min ek min, even if Geet has to go to Hoshiarpur, it is going to happen months away, aap dono abhi se kyun jhagad rahe hain?" Savitri Devi spoke finally. She knew the reason Maan wanted Geet in front of her eyes but for the first time, she couldn't understand why Geet was so adamant. She was happy in this house, wasn't she? Did she miss her family? Maybe she needed to talk to her.
He pointed a finger towards Geet, "I have made my decision, and you are not going to go." With those final words, he left without giving a chance to Geet to snap back at him.
Geet twisted her lips as she turned and dropped on the sofa "That was fun" she let out a puff of breath.
Daadima looked at her confused, "Fun? Geet what is going on?"
"Kuch nahi Daadima, bahut din se Maan ki bari bari aankehin nahi dekhi thi," she smiled broadly at the elder lady before she broke into a laughter. Savitri Devi joined her on the sofa. Geet looked blissfully happy but she had to ask.
"Geet bete, if you want to go home, you can tell me, you know. Hum Maan se baat karenge"
Placing hand over hers Geet replied "Aap aisa kyun bol rahe hain Daadima?" She placed her head over her shoulder "I am very happy here and I am not even sure if I want to go to Hoshairpur for delivery"
"To yeh sab kya tha?" Savitri Devi looked at her perplexed.
She chuckled. Raising her eyebrows, she answered, "As I said earlier, FUN"

She walked to the room and found him working over some files, a crease over his forehead, his eyebrows burrowed. He looked angry, infuriated and in some deep thought.
What had suddenly gotten into Geet? Why was she so adamant on going away from him? Didn't she know he wouldn't be able to survive without her? And now it was just not her, their little one was going to be with her. He didn't think he would be able to stay back. No, he won't let her go. If he had to lock her in this room, he would. But he won't let her go away from him. But what if she persuaded? Then what? I will go with her. Yes, I would follow her all the way.
Geet watched closely as his facial expressions changed. It went from anger to confusion to finally frustration and then solace, he smiled. He was smiling!! Why is he smiling? He wasn't supposed to be doing that. He was supposed to be mad, pout maybe, scream at her and walk out but he was walking towards her. He was coming closer, her eyes widened as she took in his serene face inches away from her.
"Are you okay?" She heard him ask
"Huh??" she blinked once to gather her thoughts.
"I am sorry, If you want to go to Hoshairpur, you can. I will respect your decision. But---"
Okay this was not how she envisioned it. "But---??"
"I am coming with you. I am not going to let you go alone. And that's final"
"No No No…" she cried out.
"No??" Shocked beyond his wits, he moved back as he looked at her baffled "You don't want me to come with you?" He threw her his infuriated look.
"No , I mean yes, I want you to come…..…I don't even know if I am going" Geet sat crisscrossing her legs in the middle of the bed "Oh this is all so confusing.. You weren't supposed to throw in the towel so easily."
"What?" Maan barked at her. "I thought that's what you wanted"
"I do, No I don't." She groaned as she picked a pillow and propped her elbows over it cupping her face.
Maan looked at her puzzled. He had never seen Geet behave like that. "What is wrong with you today, Geet? Why are you confused? You need to tell me what you want" He was surprised at the blush that had crept up her face.
Geet flashed him a dazzling smile as she eased herself up from her sitting position and got on her fours. She slowly prowled towards him, her eyes locked on his. Maan swallowed hard as she stopped right in front of him. Slowly she stood up, her face now only a breath away from his. He watched in haze as her heated gaze caressed his face, studying his features before it came back to meet his eyes.
His heart rate picked up when she tilted her face a little moving towards his ears. He could smell the familiar spicy scent of her shampoo that she loved. Locking her hands around his neck, she whispered. "I want you Mr. Khuraana"
