Hey everyone, this is my first attempt on a Mayur OS. Can you believe it I'm writing a one shot just a day before my exam but just couldn't help it when this came to my mind. And the title I just thought of it in a hurry if it doesn't go with the story then please let me know.Hope you like it!
Dia: Badi Ma, how the hell did you do philosophy, I mean come on huh, i hate it.
Badi Ma: So, now do you plan to fail in your exam or should I leave?
Dia: Sorry, sorry but please can you explain this to me, I don't understand.
Badi Ma agrees and teaches her niece the importance of philosophy. Dia had her attention fully on the work when she remembers something she had to say.
Dia: Badi ma apko pata hai ki Mayank bhaiya, Nupur ko pasand karte hain?
Badi: Kya?
Dia then explained to Badi Ma how her darling son Mayank had a soft corner for her best friend Nupur. Badi Ma was extremely stunned, Mayank who was always the reserved type, didn't like girls around him liked a girl. It came to her as a shock but she was ready to accept Nupur if that was what Mayank wanted, yet she had to speak to him first.
Later in the evening, Mayank returned from office extremely tired, frustrated and annoyed because his clients wanted him to give the presentation the very next morning.
Badi Ma: Mayank, tum tho bare chupe rustam nikle...I can't believe it that you hid this from me.
Mayank: Listen ma, I'm not interested, and what are you talking about?
Badi Ma: Of course, you don't want me to know, fine I won't ask you but I want to meet my bahu.
Mayank: Maa, what rubbish, listen I'm not in the mood for your jokes, I've got a lot to do..
Mayank started to go upstairs to his room when his mother told him how she found out about Nupur from Dia. She couldn't believe that he didn't tell her. By that time Mayank was nowhere ready to listen to his mum and instantly grabbed his car keys and left.
He couldn't believe that Dia told this to Maa. And this Nupur, he knew her because of Dia but he just didn't understand.
He hurriedly arrived Nupur's house to speak to her about this but was extremely confused if he meeting her was wrong but he didn't have the patience. Mayank silently climbed the pipe and entered Nupur's room (he had been here once to pick Dia up).
He saw Nupur sitting on her bed and on her laptop, he entered, Nupur jerked her head up and before she could scream Mayank slammed his hand on her mouth. He could see the anger, confusion and then the questioning him from her brown almond shaped eyes. He let go.
Mayank: Chup!
Nupur: what the hell are you doing? And may I know what Dia's Bhaiya is doing in my room at this time of night!
Mayank: I should be the one shouting at you...
Nupur hears faint footsteps heading towards her room.
Nupur: Listen, leave before someone enters, you know you shouldn't be at a girls house at this time of night, so leave!
Mayank: I need to speak to you...
The footsteps get louder, so Nupur orders Mayank to hide.
Mayank: Where on earth should I hide in you miniature sized room... wait... no one, and i mean no one, orders Mayank Sharma...
Nupur: Shut up and hide under the bed now!
Mayank's eyes get wider in anger but he has no choice and hides under the bed. Nupur breathes a sigh of relief and in a matter of seconds Shilpa (Nupur's Mum) enters the room looking extremely tired and she sits on the bed. Nupur gets really worried, she had to get her mother out of her room soon otherwise she couldn't imagine what consequences she would have to go through.
Shilpa: Nupur puttar tujhe pata hai aaj kitna kam tha, I'm so tired (Shilpa lays on the bed to relax and Nupur is petrified)
Nupur: Maa, im so hungry can we go eat now.
Shilpa tells Nupur to wait 10 minutes so she can rest a little. As time was passing Nupur's was getting nervous, the thought of Mayank right beneath her bed was frightening.
Nupur: Lets go Maa, dad must be hungry also...
Shilpa: Ok, fine, chal
As Shilpa was leaving Nupur's room, Nupur told Shilpa she would be down in a few minutes, Nupur was staring at her mother's back as she left, she felt someone poking her leg she looked down...
Mayank: can I come out now (Nupur nods and before she said something Mayank closes the door) listen Nupur what the hell is wrong with your stupid best friend, i mean how dare she tell Maa some rubbish. She has completely lost it! All she can do is starve herself without food, that's it and says some nonsense...
Nupur: Just shut up, how dare you say such a thing about her! And what has she done?
Mayank: Oh so you don't know do you, well for your information she told maa that i like you
Just as those words came out Mayank's mouth she recalled something.
Flashback
Dia had just caught Nupur staring at her Mayank bhaiya.
Dia: Omg Nupur, i never knew you liked bhaiya...
Nupur was shocked at what Dia was saying and completely disagreed. But Dia was nowhere near listening and kept teasing Nupur.
Dia: wait till I tell Badi Maa and Bhaiya...
Flashback ends
Nupur didn't know what to respond to Mayank but all he was doing was complaining about Dia.
Nupur: Listen, you leave and if anybody see's you then I'm dead...get out!
Mayank also didn't want to stay there any longer he had to speak to Dia immediately! He was about to leave from the door when Nupur grabbed his shirt.
Nupur: Leave from the window...
And Mayank left...she turned around to take in what just had happen when there was a tap on her shoulder, she quickly turned around and saw Mayank staring in her eyes deeply.
Mayank: Did I ever tell you...I love you...
And so Mayank vanished, Nupur began to think if this was a dream or reality!
