Tum Kaun Ho?

A Maaneet Fan Fic

Chapter 55
May 23, 2011 10:05 am Chicago, 8:35 pm Delhi

"Veerji, you can't be here. How is Geet supposed to surprise you for the wedding functions, if you see all her choices now?" Naintara gave Maan about the sternest look possible to give over an electronic device, and Geet was incredibly grateful to her for shooing him away.

Ever since the shooting it seemed like Maan had hardly let her alone long enough to go to the bathroom. He even continued to sleep on the couch in her room, coming in after Dadi and JD slept, and leaving before they woke. That was Geet's condition for agreeing to share the room, as she didn't want to give a wrong impression. It didn't matter how many times Maan reminded her that they were engaged, she still felt uncomfortable sharing a room at night with him.

The erotic dreams that she had didn't help matters at all. She had tried to dress in the baggiest t-shirts and sweats possible at night, attempting to counter the thick atmosphere of passion that seemed to develop the moment Maan would set foot in her room. It didn't help much, and she woke several times a night with her heart beating wildly from the arousing visions her sleeping mind conjured.

The whole thing was very frustrating, especially when she knew that Maan's fears over her safety were preventing him from being as affected as she. All she could hope and pray for was that the police would determine what had happened soon, otherwise she didn't know how she would continue in this current condition until the wedding. Geet only gained respite with Naintara's presence.

Maan and Dadi had agreed to Geet request not to tell Naintara about the shooting, although they did inform Dev. Menal had developed a skin rash that was worrying Naintara a lot, and Geet didn't want her Di to worry about her as well. For that reason, when Naintara insisted that Maan leave the room while they looked over clothing designs, he couldn't very well argue that he should stay without telling the truth to his sister-in-law.

"Go on, Veerji, go do some work and make money so your fiance can spend it all. Go and let us women enjoy bonding over clothes."

"Naintara, honestly I don't know how Dev puts up with a bossy woman like you."

"Because he knows who's the boss is in the family. Dadi, don't you think I'm right? How can we choose Geet's clothes with Maan veerji here?"

"Of course, you're absolutely correct. Maan, go back to your office and let us alone."

Maan didn't want to agree, but with both Dadi and Naintara after him to leave he didn't really have much choice. He looked at Geet, his eyes pleading with her to do something so that he could say. Geet knew very well that he wanted to protest that he had a right to be there, but she was going to do no such thing. She picked up one of the dress sketches and totally ignored him. Getting no support from his fiance, Maan left, but not before promising himself that he would take revenge.

Once Maan finally was gone, Geet breathed a silent sigh of relief. Now that she was no longer in his presence, maybe her body would start returning to normal, instead of being in the heightened state of awareness she'd experienced the past week. Now that he was no longer hovering like the sinfully attractive dusht danaav that he was, she might be able to take an easy breath.

"Alright, Geet. Now that the groom is finally gone, let's see what sexy outfits we can choose for you to dazzle him with."

"Se...sexy?" coughed Geet, the word bringing back all the tension she had thought to get away from. "I just want some nice, pretty clothes that aren't too revealing."

"Oh, Geet, please! This is your wedding. Your wedding to your totally, mouthwateringly hot fiance. Not revealing is definitely the wrong way to go, especially for the wedding night. We need to choose something that will nock him out cold!"

"Diii!"

"What Diii? Dadi, you tell me if I'm saying anything wrong?"

"Well, a bride definitely wants to look attractive for her husband..."

"There, you see? Even Dadi agrees with me. Now you listen to your Di. We want to choose the outfits that will send his temperature soaring and make him your deewani. Now, make sure you hold up those sketches and photos close to the camera so I can get a good look."

May 23, 2011 10:14 pm

"Just what did you think you were doing this morning, letting Naintara and Dadi kick me out of the room?"

Geet jumped at the sound of Maan's voice right behind where she was standing at the foot of her bed. With her hand on her rapidly beating heart, she turned around, exclaiming, "You scared me!"

"You deserve it for letting your husband be treated in such a way."

"To-be-husband."

"Technicalities."

Without warning, Maan grabbed Geet's arms and pulled her violently forward. He crushed her mouth to his, plundering the sweet depths in a manner that had Geet aching from pleasure before she could even comprehend what was happening. A low moan escaped her throat, which only made Maan hold her even tighter.

Much too soon for Geet, who was totally lost in the sea of sensation Maan skillfully generated, the kiss ended and he pulled back. With eyes roaming hungrily up and down her body, he said, "If you think that these baggy clothes in any way succeed in covering your lush body, then you have no idea how adept my eye sight is. I can make out even the slightest hint of your curves and easily imagine the rest. Maybe you haven't realized, but each night before I go to sleep on that couch, I fantasize about just what I will do to you on our Suhaag Raat. No amount of oversized t-shirts and sloppy sweatpants can hinder me from seeing all of you in my mind. Soon it will be reality and not a fantasy."

Leaning forward he left a quick peck on her opened lips, before cheerfully announcing, "Goodnight," as if he hadn't just spoken the most sexually suggestive words Geet had ever heard. Uncaring of the fact that Geet was literally gasping for breath, he moved toward the couch and made himself comfortable.

Knowing that he must have said all that to trouble her, Geet couldn't do anything but angrily get under her bedcovers and try desperately to forget the words he had uttered. It was all in vain, as Geet faced another night of even more intense and sexually charged dreams. Maan had truly gotten his revenge.

Tum Kaun Ho?

A Maaneet Fan Fic

Chapter 56
May 27, 2011 1:53 pm

"Nakul, you are sick. Stop arguing with me. Take this medicine and go to sleep!"

"But...achoo!...Chote Saab...achoo!...said that...achoo!...not to let you pick up JD by...achoo!...yourself...ACHOO!"

"Nakul, you don't worry about me. I'll be fine. You're the one who needs to be worried about. What do you think you can do, sneezing and with such a high fever? Now take this and go to sleep."

Geet practically forced Nakul to down the pill and pushed him forcefully inside his room. She pulled back the bedsheets and fluffed the pillow, before dragging the sneezing Nakul over by his arm. Nakul felt so awful that he was asleep almost before his head hit the pillow. Even his thought that Chote Saab would not be happy with him didn't have a chance to fully form.

May 27, 2011 3:45 pm

Geet looked at the time and made a decision. Nakul was too sick to go with her. Dadi was out with Mohan and not answering her phone for some reason. Maan was still in his meeting, and as he was in downtown Chicago, he was too far away to be of help. It seemed silly to call for a cab to take her for a drive less than ten minutes long, especially when she was perfectly capable of driving herself.

As she eased into the driver's seat, ready to head off to JD's school, she felt a great sense of freedom. Maan had been so over protective the last two weeks, he had not allowed Geet to leave the house unless she was accompanied by him, Nakul or Mohan. She was even forbidden to walk Stella, a task that had been given over to the presently sick Nakul.

Maan had also been equally protective of JD, even going so far as to not let him play in the backyard unless he was there. Arrangements had been made at the school for JD to be kept inside while waiting to be picked up, just in case. That was why Geet was on here way there right now, not wanting her energetic little boy to be stuck inside while she made other arrangements.

The truth was that Geet thought Maan's fears had proved to be unfounded. The police had not discovered any evidence linking Sameera to the shooting, causing Geet to believe in her first assumption of it being a random event. She was sure she had no enemies, and JD couldn't possibly know anyone who would want to harm him. They did live in the Chicago metro area, where there was a much greater chance of encountering violence like this than done small, Midwestern town.

All in all, Geet felt safe enough to drive alone, especially since nothing had happened after that incident in the park. She loved the feeling of being independent again, and resolved to talk to Maan about what she felt was paranoid behavior on his part. It wasn't accomplishing anything except to give her a case of acute sexual frustration combined with the feeling of living inside a cage. Though, she might not mention the sexual frustration part. Who knew what Maan would get up to if she let him know how much his presence in her room at night affected her.

May 27, 2011 3:47 pm

"I knew she would eventually make a mistake."

"Yes and we're unlikely to get another opportunity like this. I just want to remind you to be careful."

"I've been careful. I've had the perfect place chosen for months."

"Well, hurry then. You don't want her to get ahead of you. The plan will be ruined otherwise."

May 27, 2011 3:52 pm

Geet was just about five minutes away from the school when she heard a loud pop and felt the car begin to pull in a strange way. Nothing like that had ever happened before, but she had an idea of what it might be. Slowing the car gently, she pulled off to the side of the road and put on her flashers. Turning off the ignition, she got out of the car and started walking around. Sure enough, the front right tire had a large hole and was quickly deflating.

"So, that's what a flat tire feels like. And here I was thinking nothing could happen on the way to pick up JD. Well, I have no idea how to change a tire, so I guess I'll have to call someone. But who? I don't know the numbers of any car places. Oh, right. I have an iPhone. I can just look it up."

Geet put her hand in her pocket to pull out her phone, just as she heard a voice ask, "Do you need any help?"

"No thank you, I..." Geet turned towards the voice, a smile on her face. The smile turned to horror when she saw a gun pointed right at her heart.

"Do exactly as I say if you don't want to die."

May 27, 2011 4:39 pm

With his meeting finished, Maan took out his phone and switched it from silent to ring. He contemplated whether he should phone Geet up or not. He knew she was upset about the restrictions that he had insisted on for her safety, and he didn't want to make her more upset. The truth was, he missed the sound of her voice, but thought she might think he was just calling to check up on her. While he was debating a call from the office came in. He knew it must be Chelsea, since Geet would call him using her own phone.

"Yes, Chelsea," said Maan.

"Sir, have you heard from Geet?"

"No I haven't. Why are you asking? She should be back from picking up JD."

"Sir, JD's school called and said that no one has come to pick him up yet. They tried calling Geet's cell and yours also, but were only able to leave messages. I tried calling Geet, but got the same response. Finally I called Mrs. Khurana, who said that she had no idea where Geet is. I'm really starting to worry, and I don't know what to do."

"Nakul was supposed to go with her. Did you try calling him?"

"Sir, Nakul's cold became a lot worse and he's been sleeping all afternoon. I asked him if he knew where Geet is and he told me that all he remembers is that she insisted he take medicine and go to sleep."

"Alright. Chelsea, you call JD's school and tell them I will be there to pick him up as soon as possible. Then I want you to keep calling Geet's phone."

As soon as Maan hung up, he dialed Geet's phone, only to hear after four rings, "Hi, you've reached Geet's phone. Leave me a message and I'll get back to you."

"Geet, I need you to call me right away," was all Maan could get out past the lump in his throat.

Geet leaving without Nakul and then not showing up to get JD was terrifying. Maan knew that there was no way that she would leave JD stranded like that. Something had to have happened, and he was desperately afraid of what that might be. Not one to sit back doing nothing, Maan quickly dialed the number of the Kenilworth Police department, determined to do what ever was necessary to find Geet.
