THREE
This is it, he thought. Time has run out. He has to do it now.
He glanced at the book he was holding, then it struck him that he was holding it upside down. Shutting it, he quickly placed it back to the shelf.
Get it together, he told himself. The situation is as good as its going to get. The number of witnesses is minimum. He had to do what he had come here for ' have Annie's copy of the novel signed by the author.
Yes he was Maan Singh Khurana, hesitating to get a novel signed by a girl.
Geet Handa was certainly attractive. The store incharge, Pari he guessed, had confirmed what Annie was saying yesterday ' that she had just returned from a book tour and looked exhausted. Well if this is what she looks like when she is tired, she'd look unbelievable when fully rested.
Yes, he decided, she is stunning. Her wavy, long dark black hair fell on one side of her shoulder. She had delicate features, her sensual lips, her big brown almond eyes, with big lashes. Those eyes were deep, anyone can drown into them.
At one point during his vigil, she'd stood up, to relax her muscles, and he'd got a view of a slender, lean feminine figure shown to perfection in a pale blue blouse and dark blue jeans. She was fairly tall, about five feet six or seven inches, he guessed, in her late twenties.
All in all, he thought, she is just beautiful. He sighed.
He couldn't stall any longer. There was the nagging problem that Annie, nutty little sister that she was, wanted him to take Geet out. Her idea was crazy, totally bizarre.
He'd get the book signed by Miss-she needed- to lighten ' up 'and- have- some fun Geet, deliver to his sister and tell her under no circumstances he is taking her out, her request is denied and the answer is no, big NO.
"Thank you so much" Geet said as she handed over the book, "hope you enjoy it."
"I'm sure I will", the woman said "Thank you. I can believe I'm meeting you in person. I always love your books and have read all of them."
"Good night, and come again" Pari said. The woman said Goodbye with a promise to shop there again.
The man with the book was starting towards her, Geet thought. He was stalking, correct word. He had a smooth, athletic appearance that was like a tiger stalking his prey.
She was the prey.
He was the tiger.
No, no. She has to calm down. The man didn't look like a stalker, not that she knows how a stalker looks like. He was getting closer, she thought, feeling another shiver down her spine. His eyes were brown. Beautiful eyes, her gaze were locked at him.
Too bad he is a stalker, and has come to kidnap her and''
PRECAP-- "Stay Back" she yelled, "you come any closer and i''ll ink you to death"😲
