Angad stopped in front of his door, Kripa looked back at him. Walked back; settling in front of him. "Good night, Kripa." he smiled.
She frowned, "Good night, Angad." She turned around and then turned back. "Can I ask you something?" He nodded, and pulled her closer. She didn't know what to do, just stand there stiff, as she was at the moment, or hug him? She stayed the way she was; saw disappointment flash Angad's eyes. She ignored it.
"Why did you change you're song at the last moment, Angad?" she asked, watching the emotions in his silver eyes.
"If someone loved you Kripa, what would you do?"
She observed him for a second, then smiled, "No one would to begin with, but-"
"Then assume for just a second that I love you, Kripa." He stopped, exhaled sharply, and parted his lips to speak again. "I love you, Kripa. Now what?" It felt good, this was merely a game, yet he felt great inside.
"Good night, Angad."
He held her close. At first stiff, then relaxing, she looked into his eyes, "You love me Angad, but I don't love you. I never will love you, simply because I don't have the time to love you. I don't have the time to love myself. I simply don't have the time."
Angry, he opened the door to his house, then slamming the door he pushed Kripa to the door and stood against her. Anger was in his eyes, his breathing was sharp. Kripa looked at him, scared, worried. "Then imagine that I love you, and you are perfectly fine. Then what?" He was still angry, it was in his touch, his voice, and his eyes.
She smiled again, pressed her hand into his cheek, "I still can't think of loving you Angad." He left her shoulders
"Very well then, your reports will be in tomorrow. If you're fine, I'll leave from here, and I'll send you the divorce papers as soon as I get back. If you're sick, and dieing, even better. I will still leave, just make sure I know when you…" he stopped slammed his fist into the door, scaring Kripa. She moved her head to the left and closed her eyes. He looked at her sorry, then pressed his lips into her cheek. "I'm sorry," he mumbled. "I'm sorry, Kripa," His nose against her cheek now, then slipping down to her neck, and up again. "I'm sorry," he said again in her neck. She stood there for a moment longer, then pushed him away, turned around and opened the door.
"I was right, Angad. Neither one of us can't forget that in our past you have done things to me that I can't forget. And, that's why I can never love you." She turned around and smiled. "I can't wait for the reports tomorrow. I have nothing to fear any longer." and left.

Angad and Kripa sat in front of the doctor, she looked nervous. "So doctor?" Kripa asked, carelessly.
She smiled now, "You're perfectly fine, Kripa." Kripa smiled, and she felt Angad's hand hold hers tighter.
"Thank you doctor." Angad replied. After a small conversation they both left the hospital.

Now, a few hours later, Angad and Kripa stood face-to-face at the airport. Angad had no luggage, he was leaving everything behind.
He smiled, and held his hand out. "Bye Kripa." She didn't smile back, and just placed her hand into his.
No hugs, not the smallest peck, she expected. Nothing. He turned around, and started walking away, Kripa watched him. He turned around, this surprised her a lot. He walked back to her, buried his hand in her hair and kissed her forehead, then pulled her closer, into his arms. Holding her tightly. She had so much to ask, and he had so much to say. But at the moment all he said was, "Take care Kripa." He kissed her again, this time keeping his lips to her forehead for a longer time. Then turned around and left the place. She watched him leave, then turned when he could no longer be seen.

An ambulance stopped in front of the hospital, rushed men opened the back door and took a stretcher out. People rushed the young lady into the hospital, and doctors surrounded her. Blood taken from her body, glucose bottles were changed, her skin was turning a pale color as each second passed by. In her eyes, only one man's picture flashed, Angad Khanna. Kripa's eyes closed completely, with Angad's image in her mind, and a smile on her lips.
Kripa's doctor rushed into the ICU to attend Kripa. She was terrible, she had to call someone before she could operate her. She looks into her purse and takes it out, seven missed calls. She checks them and sees Angad's name flashing on it. She quickly calls him back.
Angad is on the computer, working when his phone vibrates. When he sees Kripa's number flashing on his phone he picks it up excited. "Mr. Angad Khanna?" the lady asks.
Confused he replies, "Yes."
"This is Kripa's doctor. Where are you, Mr. Khanna. You're wife is in emergency."
Pain flashes on his face, "What? Why is she in the ICU?" Then the doctor remembers everything.
She sighs, "I lied to you Mr. Khanna. Kripa has stomach cancer, and she refuses to cure herself."
The phone drops from his hand, as the doctors words rings in his mind again and again. He picks the phone up again. "I'll be there as soon as I can." He ends the call, and quickly rushes to the air port. Twelve hours he thought. It was going to take him twelve hours to get to Australia. He had to hurry.
For the time, doctor got hold of Arjun, and he was rushed to the hospital. Kripa was under control for the time, but no one knew when her pain would start again, they had to operate her as soon as possible.
Angad had told Saamiya everything on his way to the airport, she was shocked, and there was nothing more she could do other than be shocked.
********
Angad rushed into the hospital and right into the doctors cabin. She turned around and saw an angry Angad in front of her. She was in trouble.
He exhaled, deep, and sharp. "Where is Kripa?" he asked sharply.
"ICU." She replied in a small voice. Angad smashed his hand on the door beside him.
"What the hell are you guys waiting for? Why isn't she being attended, who is with her?"
"Calm down Mr. Khanna. We need to operate her, but we need someone's written permission."
"What the hell? You need someone's written permission to save someone's life?" The doctor took a small step back. "Give me the damn paperwork!" he yelled at her.
She held a file out and he quickly filled it out, and singed it. "Attend her now!" The doctor rushed out of the hospital, and asked her nurses to get ready for her operation.
Angad rushed to Kripa's room where he found Arjun in her seat beside her. Kripa was sleeping. Arjun stood up, he was in trouble as well, danger was written all over Angad's face.
"Why didn't you tell me, Arjun?"
Arjun gulped, "Kripa asked me not to."
Angad rolled her eyes, "if she told you to jump off the cliff would you?" He didn't reply. "Arjun!" Angad yelled. "Tell me everything from the beginning."
Arjun nodded. Kripa was taken into the OT, while Arjun started the story.
Kripa sat with Arjun the same night Angad had left. She was crying, as she repeated the same thing again and again, "I lied to him." Arjun sighed and held her in his arms.
"Tell me what happened, Kripa."
She pulled away and wiped her tears, first she told him about her and Angad's marriage, and how the became fast friends. Then why she left him.
Arjun felt bad for her, "So why did he leave now?"
"Arjun, I have stomach cancer." He froze and looked at Kripa. She wasn't crying, but instead smiling now. "I lied to Angad that I was fine because I wanted him to leave. I knew that he wasn't going to if he found out that I was really sick. That I was dieing. I lied to him, again."
Arjun placed his hand on her shoulder. "You should tell him, Kripa. He has a right to know."
"No he doesn't!" she yelled. "He doesn't."
"But why?"
"Because I can't stay away from him, but every time I get close to him, my past stands in front of me. I'm forced to remember everything he did for me. I want to forgive him, but I can't. I can't." Her head was in her hands now. "I lied to him." She repeated. Arjun didn't have much to say, but let her cry.
Angad was shocked, unhappy, and mad. "She was right, Arjun. We can never trust each other. She can never trust me." Arjun held Angad's shoulder. Minutes later he walked away to call Saamiya. He knew she was waiting for his call.
"Saamiya."
"Angad, how is Kripa?"
"She's in the OT. I don't know anything yet. Saamiya tell me something."
"What?"
"When I had that accident after coming from Goa, you told me that Kripa called you."
"Yes," her voice was careful.
"What did she really tell you?"
She waited until she spoke again, "Angad I knew she was diagnosed with cancer. But she had asked me not to-"
"Bye Saamiya." He ended the call
Saamiya sat on the bed with her eyes closed, "I knew she was dieing then, and I know she is dieing now. I'm sorry Angad."
Yes, Saamiya knew that Kripa had cancer. Kripa had called her a week after Angad had left Australia and told her everything.
*********
Now, almost five hours later, the doctor finally came out. Angad didn't rush to her, yet Arjun did. "How is she?" he asked.
The doctor smiled, "She's fine. Totally out of danger. We were able to take the cancer out of her stomach." Arjun could finally breath. He cared for Kripa, and he was glad she was fine.
"Can I meet her?"
"No, Mr. Punj. She's still unconscious."
"Can I see her?" Arjun and the doctor looked at Angad.
The doctor nodded, "let us shift her into a room." Angad didn't respond, the doctor left.
Angad's hand shifted from his pocket to the door knob. He held it tight and then turned it, and pushed it open. He was scared to see Kripa. He was heartbroken to know Kripa hadn't forgiven him yet. It was something he didn't wish for. Specially not after he was in love with Kripa.
He stepped into the room, and carefully closed the door behind him. It had been an three hours since Kripa's operation, and she was now awake. Angad had came to see her earlier, and was now back again.
Kripa heard the door close, she didn't know Angad was here. Thinking it was Arjun she said, "I don't want to see you Arjun."
Angad smiled slightly. "He left a long time ago, Kripa."
Her body froze, her heart skipped beats, and for just a second, maybe less she had stopped breathing. She opened her eyes, and looked at Angad, dressed in a lovely pink shirt, with jeans. He looked good as always.
Despite of everything, she was glad to see him. "You look good in Pink." He only stood there angry. Kripa turned her face. "Why are you here Angad. You knew I didn't want you here. I don't want you here."
"You lied to me, Kripa. Why?"
She still didn't face him. "Because I want you out of my life. Away from me."
"Why?"
She looked at him now, he was coming closer to her. "Do you really expect me to forget everything, Angad?"
"No. But I do expect you to trust me for the future."
"Why?"
Because I love you, he thought. Because I can assure you that I will never break your trust again. But he said nothing. She smiled.
"Go away Angad." She turned her face again and closed her eyes. Angad stood still, then sat down beside her, leaned into her and hugged her tightly. Completely breaking down.
Kripa was confused, surprised, and mad at herself. She still hugged him back, "Angad that's why I didn't want to tell you."
He looked up, his eyes now red and full of anger. "No, you didn't want to tell me because you don't trust me Kripa. You will never trust me, and it hurts. It really does." He left her, and stood up. "Kripa, just tell me one time what I can do to get you to trust me?" He turned around, "Just once."
She looked at him, "I'll trust you, divorce me Angad."
Everything stopped for him, he walked to her and fell to his knees in front of her. Kripa knew he was going to be heart broken, yet she still went ahead and asked him. She wasn't looking at him, and suddenly he smiled and held her hand. "Fine."
Just as shocked at Angad was before, Kirpa was now. She looked at him. Her eyes held nothing more than surprise. "Why are you surprised, Kripa? You asked for it."
She nodded, "Yes I did."
Angad closed his eyes to let everything sink in his brain for a second. When he opened them again, Kripa was looking at him, a sadness in her eyes he had never seen before. She reached for his hand and held it tight. "You know I expected you to debate with me!"
He was surprised, he leaned over and kissed her, "If you want me to, I will."
"I do, Angad." Her smile was gone, and her eyes now pleading.
"What does that mean?"
She held his face, lightly. "I'm sorry."
He gasped, and then sat on the bed, she placed her head in his lap and hugged him. At that moment Angad realized that maybe, just maybe, Kripa was in love with him just as much as he was in love with her. But was he correct? Was she really in love with him, or just so fond of him that she couldn't live without him? Was it love, or simply need? He wanted answers to these questions. But he knew, he would have to wait for a long, long time.
