Heyy Laxmi
aww these were such adorable updates!....from geet's thoughts to maan's possessiveness...wow dude, msk is msk even in his sleep😆....okay that just sounded weirded cuz like duh!....ignore😆
i lovedd geet's talks with priya....maaneet will be such wonderful parents in the show too😳 but you are doing a brilliant job of portraying their parenthood here👏....simply amazing!
awww that was the reason he was keeping her away?....man, how can anyone not go fida over maan!😳.....he's like one in a million and his bonding time or more like hogging Priya time all to himself is shoo cutee😆
but yes, i gotta agree with others....why does it feel, not a good feeling i tell ya, that this ff is ending?....i prefer to remain oblivious to any subtle hints you might have dropped on that😆😉
awesome updates!....pweez do continue soon!

Nothing Can Keep Us Apart

Part 88 - He's taken care of

Geet came out of the bathroom after having her shower, surprised to see Maan still sleeping. When she had gotten up that morning to feed Priya, he had been sleeping very soundly, but she thought that he would wake up when he could hear Priya making noise in her bassinet. She was sure that by the time she was done showering, she would come out to find her husband and her daughter busy with one another. But no! Priya was making contented cooing sounds while grabbing her feet with her hands, and Maan had pulled the covers over his head.

Setting aside the towel she had been using to dry her hair, she marched over to the bed and pulled back the covers, saying, "Maan, it's time to wake up."

Maan groaned and put his arm over his eyes, clearly not willing to do what his wife said. Geet wasn't having any of that, and poked him, telling him again that he needed to get up. With his eyes still closed, Maan's hand shot out and grabbed Geet's arm, pulling her so that she fell on top of him. Geet felt herself land on his hard chest, with her wet hair flying every where, but especially on his face. Maan shot up quickly in shock, sputtering and pushing Geet's hair away from his face.

"Geet, what are you doing? I'm all wet!" complained Maan, as he wiped the water off his face.

"It's your own fault," replied Geet, laughing. "Did I tell you to grab me and cause me to fall on you? No, I told you it was time to get up. Actually, it's past time. You're getting late for the office."

"Oh, who cares about the office. I'm the boss, I can be late if I wish." Maan's arms stole around Geet, and pulled her closer. "How come you took a shower by yourself?" Giving Geet a smoldering look, he said, "I wanted us to shower together this morning."

Giving Maan a smirk, Geet pulled out of his arms, answering, "You snooze, you loose, Mr. Khurana. Now, come on, get up. You can't be late for the office today. You have a very important video conference with Mr. Sen that you don't want to miss."

Maan wanted to romance more with Geet, but he had to admit that she was correct about the meeting with Mr. Sen. After getting out of bed, and giving a quick hug and kiss to his daughter, Maan went into the bathroom to get ready. Not trusting Maan to keep his hands to himself when he came out, Geet gathered up Priya, and left to go make sure breakfast was ready for her husband.

Later that morning, Geet was walking through one of the many corridors in the mansion talking with Priya. The big question was what should they do together that morning? Should they go for a walk to the park, or should they visit Nandini Nani? Geet was just asking Priya's opinion, when she heard voices arguing. They weren't angry, but they clearly did not agree with one another.

"You really need to visit him. When was the last time you went, anyway?"

"You know the answer to that question, M. It was the worst experience. I can't go through that again."

"Vicky, what would your mother and father think, if they could see you behaving in this way?"

"Don't be like that, M. You know I make sure that he's taken care of. I get regular reports on how he's doing."

"Reports are not as good as family visits!"

"I can't, M. Last time was just too painful. I can't go through that again."

"Vicky, Meera, what's going on? What's the problem?" Geet came into the room, looking expectantly at the two friends.

"Kya?" said Vicky, startled to see his bhabhi. "Kuch nahi. Nothing's wrong, Bhabi."

Meera glared at Vicky, and said sternly, "If you won't tell her, I will." Walking over to Geet's side, Meera asked, "Do you know anything about Vicky's family?"

"I know his father died in a military accident when he was a baby, and of course that Bua died of cancer, but otherwise..."

"After Vicky's dad died, the only family that his grandparents had left were him and Aunty. They had lost their son, but still felt his presence in their grandson. They even moved to Delhi to be nearer to both of them. Everything was pretty good until Aunty died. Then Vicky's grandmother had a nervous breakdown. It was decided that she would feel better if they moved back home, and for awhile she did improve, but eventually she passed away as well. A few years went by, and then they began to notice that Vicky's grandfather was having problems. He was diagnosed with dementia and eventually placed in a care facility. It's been three years since Vicky visited him, and I've been trying to persuade him that he really needs to go again."

"Bhabi, I can't do it. The last time I went, Dada didn't recognize me at all. He thought I was dad. I just can't go through that again, Bhabi, it's too painful!"

"Vicky, he's your grandfather. Going to visit him is not to make you happy, it's to make him happy. You're old enough to know that being family means that sometimes you have to make sacrifices. You have Dadima, Maan, me, Priya, all your Singh cousins, but who does he have? Only you. Where is this place that he is living?"

"Raipur," answered Meera, when Vicky didn't say anything.

"So far away? That's ridiculous! He should be here in Delhi. I'll talk to Maan to see what we can do about that. Vicky, I know it's tough when someone we love doesn't recognize us any more, but your grandfather still loves you. You're lucky to have him. It might be difficult, but if Dadima and I go with you, don't you think you can bring yourself to visit him?"

"I guess so, Bhabi."

****************

With Maan's help, Geet soon had Vicky's grandfather transfered to a care facility in Delhi. She then made sure to accompany Vicky on regular visits, which turned out very well. As Geet didn't want to leave her at home, she took Priya with them, and found that Vicky's grandfather loved babies. He always had the brightest smile when he got to be close to the baby, and that helped Vicky feel better about the whole situation. A few weeks passed, and Geet was fairly pleased with how life was going. There was only one thing that would make it better.

Nothing Can Keep Us Apart

Part 89 - Something important

"Maan, are you asleep?" whispered Geet.

"Yes, and so should you be. We agreed to sleep in on Sundays, remember?"

"But I want to talk to you about something important."

Maan sighed and opened his eyes, turning his head slightly, so that he was facing towards Geet. Looking into her lovely, large eyes, he thanked heaven that he could wake up tothe beautiful sight of his wife in his arms, every morning. Maan couldn't resist her gorgeous lips, reaching out to capture them with his own, for a long and satisfying kiss. Geet responded with enthusiasm, but when she pulled back long before either of them usually ended a kiss, Maan got a hint that she wanted to talk about something important.

"Alright, Mrs. Khurana, what is so important that you want to talk about it this early in the morning?" The question was asked while Maan reached out with his fingers and started playing with Geet's hair.

Geet also couldn't seem to keep her hands to herself, since one hand stole up behind Maan's neck, allowing her fingers to play with the back of his hair. "Well, Mr. Khurana, I want to talk to you about me going back to work in the office tomorrow."

"What? But it hasn't been long enough for you to recover, and what about Priya? Who will care..."

"Just hold on a minute. Listen to me. I've thought a lot about this, and I don't want to come back to work full time, just three days a week, and leaving a few hours early. As for Priya, we'll bring her with us, but hire someone to look after her while we're working."

"Now, just hold on a minute. I'm not so sure about this. I don't want just anyone to be taking care of my daughter."

"Actually, Mami recommended someone to me. She's middle aged, and her youngest child just left home."

"And this person is..."

"The daughter of Mamu and Mami's head gardner. Her name is Mrs. Chatterjee. Mami has known her for years, and speaks very highly of her. We can go meet her this afternoon, and talk things over."

Maan contemplated Geet's words and after a while said, "Just to be clear. I can say no, if I don't like this person? I'm not agreeing, mind you, I'm just considering. I'm still not sure that coming back to the office wouldn't be too tiring for you."

"Maan," Geet laughed, "I appreciate your concern, but frankly, as much as I love taking care of our daughter, staying at home all day without you is pretty boring. Admit it, you feel the same way about going to the office without me. Why else would you call me 10 times a day?"

"I call to check up on Priya, you know that."

"Of course you do." Geet couldn't contain her smile, certain as she was that she would get things her way in the end. At the moment, her husband was looking a little upset, and like he could use some soothing.

Geet moved closer so that her nose was touching Maan's cheek. She alternated between rubbing his cheek with her nose and pressing kisses up and down his jawline. Maan was not ignorant of her intentions, and soon gave in, moving to capture her mouth with his own. Wrapped tightly in each others arms, they kissed hungrily, until a wail heard over the baby monitor caused them to quickly break apart.

Looking at Geet, Maan asked, "Is that a hungry cry?"

"I think it's a 'I'm bored' cry. Why don't you go get Priya and bring her in here, and I'll see about ordering breakfast. I think that since today is a Sunday, all three of us should have breakfast in bed."

****************

So, with very little persuasion necessary, Geet found herself on a Monday morning once again getting ready to go to the office. She chose to wear a beautiful new white salwar, her husband's favorite color, with red trim, her favorite color. Geet was looking forward to not only getting back to work, but to see what Maan thought of her new dresses.

As if she conjured him up just by thinking of him, he appeared next to her. "Wow, I'm lucky, not just as a husband, but as the CEO of Khurana Constructions."

Geet gave him a puzzled look, to which Maan responded by brushing his hand slowly along the side of her hair, before stopping to cup her head next to her ear. "Lucky as CEO because I have the most beautiful partner, whose elegance and simplicity will win over even the most difficult client. Lucky as a husband, because not matter how smitten those clients might be by you, only I have the right to kiss you."

Geet couldn't help but be enchanted by the love and pride she could see in Maan's eyes, as well as the deep desire that simmered only because of her. No matter how much he kissed and caressed her, it never seemed to be enough. Like they had every morning, that morning they had spent a good deal of time kissing and cuddling, yet here she was, waiting once again for the magical touch of her husband.

losing her eyes in anticipation, Geet could feel the warmth of his hand on her face. She breathed in his wonderful sent, feeling it go straight to her head. As she felt Maan pull her closer, her lips parted expectantly, waiting with great anticipation for the pleasant onslaught that was about to happen.

Exclusive interview with laxmi2010, author of FF - Nothing Can Keep Us Apart

Is this the beginning of the end? by -pixie-

Yup.

laxmi - y do i feel that ur FF is slowly coming to an end...... is it ending soon???? nahiiiiiiiiiiiiii i love ur FF by deniac

Thank you for the praise, but yes the story is ending.

will this FF end soon? if it is pl dont end it its really good by Dansindiadans

Yes, it will be over soon. Sorry, I can't continue, as I have two more Maaneet FF that I want to start, and I really can't write three stories at one time. So, this story has to come to an end for me to keep my sanity.

why does it feel, not a good feeling i tell ya, that this ff is ending? by macho_muffin

It feels that way because the story is not being "cancelled" but is coming to it's natural and logical end, just as I evisioned all those months ago when I first started writing.
One thing that I want to make clear to everyone, the next update, or even the next few updates are not the end. I still have some of the best updates left to do, and of course I will be including the Pee Loon and RTM sequences, so you have that to look forward to. When the final updates come along, it will probably feel quite obvious, so as long as it still feels like there is some story left, that is because there is.
