Billy: Nahi Armaan...Tumhari shaadi hogi. And that too the day after tomorrow.

Armaan: WHAT??!!! (He looked at Billy in disbelief.)

Part 4 - Conditions and The Fixed Proposal

Billy: Haan Armaan, tumhari shaadi hogi.

Armaan: But Dad, how is that possible? We only have three days, how will you prepare everything?? (Armaan looked at him surprised)

Billy: Don't worry Armaan..You will not have the wedding at the moment. I have everything planned out; you and Ridhima will get married the day after tomorrow in the court. It will ONLY be a court marriage as of now..

Ananya: Lekin Billy, Kya Mr Gupta manenge?

Billy: Ofcourse maanenge..afterall he will get his money earlier than he expected. (He smirked)

Armaan: Money? What money? (He looked at them confused)

Ananya lowered her head.

Billy: We're 'gifting' Mr Gupta a factory once you get married to his daughter.

Armaan sneered at this.

Armaan: So basically, he's selling off his daughter..

Billy: ARMAAN! Aisa nahi kehte! (He looked at him angrily) It's only a gift from our side. Let's leave it at that for now. We just have to wait for Mr Gupta's decision tomorrow.

Armaan: Dad, I don't think this is a good idea..I mean, we can come back again after your deal is finalised with the Khanna's.

Billy: Do you really think I'm a FOOL? I know all your plans. You will do everything to get away from this wedding once we get back to London and you'll also refuse to come back here. So it's better if you get married the day after tomorrow and then we will come back in 2 months..that's when you will get married to Ridhima with all the rituals.

Armaan: Oh God! This is all happening to quickly Dad..

Billy: Well Armaan, you should have thought of the consequences before hanging around with those girls, spending MY money and drinking alcohol! I have had ENOUGH of this! I'm just sick and tired now..

Armaan: Oh Please Dad! You don't need to make a big issue out of all those things. They are very common in London. But alas! You will never get out of your boring old traditional thoughts and stop lecturing me!!

Billy: ARMAAN! We have tried everything possible to make you understand our point of view but it seems that nothing affects you! You see these.. (Billy pointed towards Ananya's tears which had gone unnoticed by Armaan. She quickly wiped the lone tear on her cheek.) Do they make a different to you?

Armaan looked at Ananya, and perhaps, for the first time after many years he felt his heart heavy. He brushed away the feeling as soon as he remembered the tears she had given him once upon a time...

Armaan: If you never cared for me why should I? (He spoke bluntly, as Ananya sobbed a little harder) Forget it Dad, I'm tired of all this too. This is the only topic we ever talk about. I don't want to ruin my day any further..I just wanna get out of this crap.

Billy: Oh you will Armaan Mallik, as soon as you get married!

With that, Billy kept his hand around Ananya's shoulder and they started walking out of their room. Before they could step out of the door, they heard Armaan call Billy..

Armaan: One minute Dad!

Billy and Ananya both turned around. They stood a few steps away from Armaan.

Armaan: I have a condition for the court marriage too.

Billy: Armaan, I do not have time for all this.

Armaan: You have to listen! Or else, I will refuse to get married...

Billy sighed and nodded at him to go on.

Armaan: The wedding will stay as a secret until we get married according to the Indian tradition.

Billy: What's the point of that, Armaan?

Ananya: Armaan's right Billy..What will we tell our relatives? That we, being so rich, had a simple court marriage for our son and brought our bahu home? They will talk behind our backs.

Billy: What difference does it make? We will get them married traditionally after 2 months or so anyway..

Armaan: Urmmm...But Dad, the media will talk nonsense and you know that. They may even accuse me for bringing a prostitute home and keeping her at home. Who knows? The media has a bigger mouth than you expect.. (Armaan chuckled, liking the fact that Ananya was on his side)

Billy, on the other hand was still unsure. He still couldn't fathom why they shouldn't tell anyone. They were going to get married in two months anyway. However, to Billy's disappointment, he knew that Armaan and Ananya both had a good point.

Billy: Okay Armaan...Yeh shaadi ke baare mein kisiko pata nahi chalega jab tak tum dono ki officially shaadi nahin hoti. But remember, Ridhima WILL be coming with us to London.

Armaan: Yeahh whatever Dad.

With that, Armaan walked out of his parents' room and headed towards his room. He had had a long day, and now all he wanted to was sleep peacefully as today had been a very long day for him indeed. Little did he know what tomorrow had in store for him...

Next Morning: Gupta House.

Armaan, Billy and Ananya walked into the Gupta house once again. Ananya and Billy both smiled as Shashank and Anjie both welcomed them inside with wide smiles. Billy nudged Armaan, signalling him to smile. Armaan simply plastered a smiled on his face.

Shashank: Ayiye na Mr and Mrs Mallik..Welcome Armaan... (He smiled, inviting them inside)

They all sat down in their respective seats. Armaan looked around the house in search of Ridhima was not present. He unknowingly wondered where she could be.

Billy: Mr Gupta, I'm sorry about my sons behaviour yesterday..I apologise for it.

Shashank: Ohh don't worry about that Mr Mallik! No problem..

Billy: Nahi lekin phir bhi...Woh thoda masoom hai abhi.

Shashank: It's okay, please don't worry about that.

Billy: Urmm...Mr Gupta, I'm sure you must have thought about the proposal of Armaan and Ridhima's marriage. I have conversed with Ananya and Armaan and they seem to really like Ridhima...

Shashank: Ohh yes Mr Mallik. I have thought about it and also talked to Ridhima and she has agreed..(He smiled approvingly)..Anjali, Ridhima ko le kar aao (He gestured Anjali to go and get Ridhima from her room)

Armaan's eyes shot up as he heard Shashank tell Anjali to bring Ridhima downstairs. For some unknown reason to him, he was waiting for her desperately. At the same time, Armaan was surprised to find that Ridhima had agreed to the marriage. He had actually expected her to say a No. They were total strangers and hardly knew each other..Why would she want to marry a total stranger? Why did she have no objections about this marriage? The same questions as yesterday circled in his head. He was fed up of not having answers to these questions.

He was jerked out of his thoughts as he heard a noise similar to a payal and heard bangles gently hitting each other. He looked at the stairs as he waited for her to come. Without a long wait, Ridhima and Anjali both slowly walked down the stairs. He looked at her, dressed in a simple red Indian suit. She was dressed up more than she had yesterday but there was something missing. It was her smile and the glow on her face. It was there until yesterday, he noticed. He took a closer look at her face and saw dark circles around her eyes as if she hadn't slept all night. Her face was really pale..there was no happiness on her face. Seeing her in this condition, his heart felt heavy..but he soon brushed away the feeling.

Ridhima felt his eyes on her once again. He was glaring at her from top to bottom. Now, his eyes simply stared at her face...He seemed to be battling against himself, as if he wanted to ask her a zillion questions. She had made her mind up now...there was no looking back. She had promised her dad that she will get married and was going to do so. She had to brush away all her awkward feelings and walk downstairs.

Anjali and Ridhima both walked towards everyone and Ridhima greeted everyone with a meek smile.

Billy: Mr Gupta, mujhe aapse kuch urgent baat bhi karni thi...

Shashank: Jee boliye na Mr Mallik..

Billy: Actually I have some important work to do in London..And I have a few clients coming in two days. So I really need to get back to London as soon as possible. But I really feel that this marriage is important too...I hope you understand what I'm trying to say..

Shashank: Jee jee..

Billy: Haan...Toh mein aur Ananya chahte the ke hum Armaan aur Ridhima ki shaadi kal hi karde..(Ridhima's eyes shot up at this point ' she tried to hold back her tears). I mean, not an Indian wedding but a court marriage as of now. Aur phir Ridhima can also come with us to London and try and adjust there..It will be quite hard for her in the beginning so it's better if she comes with us. We would love to take her with us if you no problem...

Shashank: Ohhhh jee..Mujhe toh koi problem nahi hai. And I'm sure Ridhima ko bhi nahi hai (He glared at Ridhima, pressing on his last words)

Billy: Ridhima, tumhe koi problem toh nahi hai na beti? (Sweetly)

Ridhima was surprised that he had asked her this question..whilst her father had blatantly decided not to.

Ridhima: Umm...Wohh...(Shashank gave her a angry glare once again)..Jee..Uncle, I don't have a problem..(She lowered her head, nervously)

Once again, Armaan was shocked out of his wits! She had no objection to THIS either?

Billy: Toh phir rishta pakka samjhe Mr Gupta? (He smiled and got up to hug him)

Shashank nodded and got up to hug Billy. Ananya and Anjali also hugged and everyone smiled at each other in joy. On the other hand, Ridhima was finding it very hard to comprehend that she was going to get married to a stranger who she had never met but only heard about...and that too, tomorrow itself. She stared at Armaan expressionless as he sat in his position awkwardly, finding it difficult to sit properly for the first time in his life as a girl stared at him.
