Seeing Nupur standing in front, Gunjan shuddered. Now what excuse would she make. She walked slowly towards Nupur thinking about an excuse. Something that she could tell nupur! But there was no excuse. She had even forgotten to tell Samrat bye. She just kept walking ahead. On the other hand, nupur stared at her in utter disbelief. Her eyes were wide open. But She had assumed something else.!
"Gunjan! Tu.. yeh sab.. Agar mayank ko pata chala naa toh—
"Di, Jaisa aap soch rahe ho waise nahi hai!" She said. "Woh, Main MBA class se jaldi nikal gayi thi.. toh socha ki Thodi shopping kar lu!" she made up.. & tried to smile.
"Achha? Toh tu uss larke ke saath shopping kar rahin thi?" she said!
"Mujhe taxi nahi mil rahin thi.. toh usne chhod diya!"
"Ohh" nupur said. "Tu mujhe itni aasani se bewakoof bana degi? I am you sister Gunjan.. You cant hide anything from me!" Nupur said. "Agar tumhe woh pasand hai toh bol deti! Humse kyun chhipaya?" she scolded. "Hum kya tujhe kha jaate.. Waise uska naam kya hai?" she asked.
"DI!" gunjan said realising what Nupur had interpretted! " Aisa Kuchh nahii hai! Mujhe usse pyaar NAHI hai!" she said. "Aur woh.. woh Samrat Shergill hai!" she said..
"WHAAAT?" nupur said. "Tujhe poori duniya main yahi ek larka mila tha? Tere jiju iss rishte ke liye KABHI nahi maanenge! Yeh mr.Shergill hi toh unki saari problems ke jarh hai!" Nupur tried to explain!
"Di Main Samrat se pyaar NAHI karti!!" gunjan said in anger!
"Toh uske saath kya kar rahin thii??" she asked.
"Umm.. ermm.. woh.. di.. aise.." she stopped. Sighed. And gave up! She had to tell nupur the truth now! But not here.
"Di Main tumhe baad main sab kuchh samjhaungii!" she said. "bas Jiju ko mat batana!" gunjan pleaded.
"Jiju ko kya nahi batana?" Mayank said from behind gunjan.
Gunjan was horrified. She turned around to see a smiling mayank standing with his arms on his hip glaring at the two sisters!
"Mujhse kya chhipa rahe ho tumlog?" Mayank asked.
"Hum kyun bataye?" Gunjan said. "Yeh hamari beech ki baat hai!"
Nupur & Gunjan Hi5-ed!
"Achha. Theek hai bachu. Dekh loonga tumhe baad main. Ab chale?" he said.
They nodded & all of them left for Bui's house.

Later that evening when they reached home, gunjan went to her room and laid down. She didnt know how to tell nupur about this? How would she react? Gunjan was very confused. Nupur came in her room & locked the door.
"Gunjan, Chal mujhe bata? Kya chal raha hai tum dono ke beech?" nupur asked.
"Di. Pehle aap promise karo ki jiju ko kuchh nahi bataogi?" gunjan said sitting up in bed.
"Kyun? Aisa kya hua hai?" Nupur asked.
"Di.. pehle promise."
"Gunjan main mayank se kab tak chhipaungii?"
"Jab tak main nahi kehti!" she said
"Achha bata toh sahi ki kya hua?"
Gunjan told nupur a story
"Di.. I love Samrat" she took a deep breath, "We met in MBA classes. Samrat had come for a special seminar & we became friends. And after that even I didnt realise when i fell for him.. We love each other di.. but main abhi jiju ko nahi bata sakti!"
"Gunjan.. Main samajh sakti hun.. par mayank ko plz bata do!"
"Haan di.. bohot jald bata dungii!" Gunjan said.
"Aaj toh tu bach gayyi.. Mujhe toh laga ki aaj mayank tera aur uska kachumber bana dega!.."
"I knoww. Thank god!" she said. She sighed. Another lie. Gunjan was getting burdened with the lies. She didnt know what to do anymore! She just had to go on lyingg!!
"So.. woh kaisa hai?" Nupur asked with interest.
"Di.. woh bohot sadu hai.. gussa bhi karta hai.. but phir bohot help karta hai!" she said.. but this time it was the truth..
"Ohh.hayyee!!. You mean Mayank types!" & both of them giggled!
Gunjan nodded!
*KNOCK KNOCK!*
"Kaun?" Gunjan screamed.
"Arrey bhai.. agar private baatein khatam ho gayii ho toh kya main ander aa jaoo?" he said.
Both teh sisters laughed and nupur opened the door. Mayank came in & looked at both of them.
"Kya baatein kar rahe the?" he said.
"bas jiju, di keh rahin thi ki aap bohot sadu ho!" gunjan said laughing.
"Haaw! Gunjan ki bachi! Tujhe main nahi chhodungii.."
"NUPURR!!" Mayank glared at her. " tumne aisa kaha?"
"Waise.. kuchh galat toh nahi kaha!" nupur said.
"Ao.. main tumhe abhi dikhata hoon ki main kitna sadu hoon! Chalo." He said pulling nupur out with him as he winked at gunjan.
Gunjan giggled and then shut the door behind her.

The Next Day. Office.
Gunjan reached BANG on time & entered Samrat's cabin.
"Good morning sir." She said.
"Good morning Madam." He said.
"sir?" she asked confused.
"Main toh aapka personal driver hoon right?" Samrat said.
Gunjan felt ashamed. But it wasnt her fault! He had said he would drop her! How rude could this person get!
"Sir, Main kuchh samjhi nahi!" Gunjan said.
"Kal maine tumhe lift di & you just went. Ek baar mudkar "Thank you" tak nahi bola!"
'What? Shit! Di ke chakkar main bhool hi gayyi!!' Gunjan thought.
"Sorry Sir." She said.
"Fine. Get back to work now! Today I have a Meeting with Mr.Sharma." he said. "In Oberoi Hotel. Gr8 I will have to tolerate his non-sense All alone. Wonder how his wife bears him"
"Sir. Mr.Sharma is a very sweet person!" gunjan defended her jiju!
"Ohh yes! He is your neighbour na!!" Samrat said sarcastically!
Gunjan was silent. He was much more than a neighbour.
"You have to come with me. You can sit in the cafeteria until we have our meeting!"
"Hmm.. ok" Gunjan said.
"Any problem gunjan?" he asked looking at her. 'He called me Gunjan?' gunjan thought.
"No sir. Its fine." She got up & left the cabin.

The drive to the hotel was awkward and uncomfortable. No one spoke. No one had anything to say! Gunjan just kept stealing glances at samrat to see what he was doing and samrat.. he didnt even look around. Just straight at the road. As they got out of the car, Gunjan saw mayank's car in the parking lot. He was already there. She would have to be careful.
Gunjan didnt enter the hotel with Samrat. What if Mayank was at the lobby. If he saw gunjan there he would get suspicious.
"Sir, Ill sit in the cafe. I just need to make a phone call." Gunjan said.
"Okay." Samrat said as he went inside.
And gunjan went to a corner and waited for both of them to enter the restaurant.
Samrat & Mayank sat down and they looked at each other. Hatred & Competition was only what they thought about.
"So Mr.Shergill. Is your presentation ready?" mayank asked.
"Yes. It is. Here." Samrat switched on his laptop & showed Mayank the presentation made by gunjan. Gunjan knew what mayank would like so shockingly Mayank admired the way the presentation was made.
"Very Well, Mr.Shergill. I liked the presentation" he said.
"You had to. It was made by our company. And its the best."
"Yes it is. Thats why we are dealing with you! We want nothing but the best!" Mayank said proudly.
Samrat gave a smirk & concentrated on his paperwork again.
"This time your presentation & paper work is very neat & amazingly perfect. Just the way I like!" Mayank said shocked.
"It has always been Mr.Sharma. this time you need this project more than we do. Thats why your liking it!" Samrat said with full attitude.
"Atleast it wasnt made by you! Or it would be as turning off as you are" Mayank commented.
"Can you mind your own business!" Samrat said. "Be a little professional. We were in college together but this isnt college & we cant create a scene"
"Look who's talking." Mayank said getting up. " & I guess my work is done here." He said as they shook hands & Mayank left.
They both hated each other! Knowing each other too well, they knew that this hatred could never change! They were once rivals in college & now things hasnt changed much. Life has bought them back to the same path!

Gunjan waited as Samrat approached her. It was almost lunch time.
"Shall we leave sir?" Gunjan asked.
"No, lets have lunch here. I dont feel like going back to office now!" he said.
'Another side of Samrat Shergill. I dont understand this fellow. What is with him? His moods change everyday.'
"Ok.. Btw, how was your meeting sir?" she asked.
"he liked the presentation you made. You sure know him well. We really needed this project & we got it!" Samrat said with a smile.
"I am glad he liked it sir!" she said.
As they had their lunch, both behaved awkwardly. Having lunch with ones boss wasnt alot of fun. Samrat finally said something, "So Ms.Bhushan, Who all are there in your family?"
"Umm.. Sir, I live with my sister and jiju." She said. "& you can call me Gunjan..." she realised what she was saying.. it didnt sound right, so she added, "If you want!"
"Oh! Ok." He said.
Silence again. Gunjan enjoyed the food. She was very hungry! Samrat also concentrated on the food.! They returend to their office... They worked very hard. Everything was normal & things didnt change much!
"Gunjan woh Mr.Khana ke project ki file chahiye mujhe!" samrat said.
"Ji sir." Gunjan got the file.
Gunjan looked at her watch. 10:30pm. She had to go home! It was getting VERY late!
She didnt tell Samrat anything! She just quietly worked. Samrat was working on his laptop.
"Gunjan, please check this document I am just coming." He said bluntly. He got up & went out of the room. Gunjan frowned once he left & she went & sat on his chair immitating him.
"Ms.Bhushan , your 5 seconds late! What is this?" she said in the samrat way!
& then she heard someone clap. It was Karan. He stood there laughing & applauding for her performance.
Gunjan jumped up from the seat. "Umm.. sir.. i was just.. sorry!"
"haha! Gunjan.. its ok! But you gotta show samrat this! You did it so perfectly!"
"No sir. I am sorry!" she said embarassed!
"I know that my brother is very Sadu types. But trust me he is very nice at heart!"
"I know sir." She said a lie again. Now she didnt take much effort to lie. It had become a routine to lie now. She could lie perfectly, without any hesitation! She had mastered the art of lying but she was not happy! She resented everything she said.
"But why arent you home yet?" he asked.
"Sir, Samrat sir hasnt asked me to go yet. He has some work!"
"Ok. But dont you have to get home?" he asked.
"yes sir, but.."
"No buts, I am going home now. I will drop you!" he offered.
"But Samrat sir.." she asked
"He will come home when hes done. If he says anything tell him that I told you to leave!"
"Ok" she said leaving with him.

Samrat was coming back to the office when he saw Gunjan sit with Karan and drive off! He didnt know why.. but he didnt like to see them together.
"Gunjan left? She didnt even think it was necessary to tell me? Great! & bro is dropping her home. I could hv done that! She is my PA not his!!" he said arrogantly!
He was annoyed & furious! He couldnt concentrate on his work so he left from there. He went home & thought about his changing emotions but was still confused. But little did GUNJAN know what was in store for her the next day!

Next Day.
Samrat sat in his cabin in the morning. 8, 8:30, 9 & Gunjan hadnt come yet! He was becoming furious! He called the reception.
"Hi Maria? When Ms. Bhushan comes to office tell her she has been fired!" he said angrily, not being able to control.
"Sir, she is here since 8!" the receptionist said.
"What? Where is she?" he asked.
"She is having a meeting with Karan Sir."
"Why? What is this abt?"
"I dont know sir. Karan sir said it was personal!"
"WHHAAT?"
"yes sir."
Samrat kept the phone. He couldnt believe what was happening. Why was gunjan with karan? Why wasnt she with him? Why the HELL was he so irritated with this!
He kept thinking about this when Gunjan rushed into his office.
"Sorry sir, I am late!"
"Your not Gunjan, dont lie. You were in Bro's office, ryt?"
"ermm.. Sir.. yes.."
"Why?"
"Nothing sir. He was just talking about Mr. Khana's project!"
"But he doesnt even know about it!"
"Oh. But he was talking about that. You can ask him!"
"How do I care? Just gi and get to work." He said rudely.
"Is everything ok sir? You seem upset."
"Stop It Gunjan! Your my PA not my friend that i will tell you all this!" he said
Gunjan felt very bad. She marched into her cabin and sat down throwing the file on the desk!
"What does he think of himself. I sit & plan his Surprise Birthday Party with Karan Sir & I get the shouting also! I dont know why I even Agreed to help him! Great! As it is the whole party is my responsiblity! All the guests are to be called!"
Gunjan wrote down everything she needed & some details. She kept it in her purse & she started doing her work. She was pissed off with Samrat. What was his problem. How could he be so RUDE & INSENSITIVE! Arghh.. she Hated him!
