Chapter Two A

Nupur loved her huge family but, had come to hate family gatherings as they all seemed to be centered around one topic. Her own marriage. This was one such family function. All her relatives had come together to celebrate her oldest brother Adhiraj's twin girls 12^th birthday party. Nupur had gifted them each a make-up-kit with matching vanity bags, which they fell in love with. Aanya one of the twins exclaimed in delight when she tore open the wrapping "Nupur Bua! Thanks a lot! I love it!" and Ananya the other twin matched her excitement. "Yes bua! Now we can look pretty just like you!"

"Looking pretty has not done a thing for your Nupur Bua, has it?" Said Amit, Nupur's cousin with a big grin and Nupur groaned "By God, Amit not you too!" as if Nupur hadn't said anything he continued "She hasn't been able to find herself a husband." Amit said raising his voice.

"Stop harassing my baby!" said her mom from behind her and Nupur stuck her tongue out at Amit. "Yeah Amit stop it."Nupur exclaimed.

Though Nupur knew he was just teasing her, it was hard to continuously put on a brave face to cope with all the jokes. She saw Daadi across the room playing with one of her several great-grand-kids and she remembered the conversation she had overheard. I wish I could go upto her and say –Daadi you know that guy Dhruv I have been dating? He asked me to marry him and I said yes! Thought Nupur.

It was true. She had thought about it hard. Weighed all the pros and cons. The only con was that she wasn't crazy in love with him. But she would get to love him over time right? All arrange marriages are based on this concept and they work just fine. But what was really stopping her was knowing that Mayank didn't approve. She valued his opinion the most, as she knew he would always be honest with her. Not to mention discreet. By God! Though she was very close to all of her bhabhi's and sister they would tell tell their husbands and in no time it would be public knowledge. She needed to figure this one out on her own. And she did'nt want to look back after a few years and regret her decision to not marry him.

Her train of thought was brought to a halt as her jiju called for an announcement.

"Hey everyone, Gunjan and I would like to make an announcement. We have some big news." He said wrapping Gunjan in a side hug and grinning so much that I thought he would split his jaw. "there is soon going to be another addition to this family. We are going to have a baby!"
With that the room erupted in a cry of excitement, with everyone hugging, squealing and congratulating them. Nupur after adding her sincerest congratulations, couldn't help but feel a little wistful. She looked over at the happy couple. Samrat with his arm around Gunjan, supportive and ecstatic. They looked so happy. Like they could take on the whole world. I want that. I want to be half of a couple. Be someones whole world, want someone to be mine. Be a wife, a mom, a family. She thought. And I could have that. I just have to say yes to Dhruv. Looking at the happiness on her Daadi's face she knew she wanted her to be there at her wedding. To give her that happiness before she passed on.

I will go and tell Dhruv yes tomorrow. And just like that she had made her decision.

Awww...SG thing was so cuteee! =D Why is she sayin yes to them? :( Hope Mayank comes in the middle! :P Niceee parttt🤗

Amazing update...But nupur should say a biiiggggg 'NO' to dhruv...
Mayank loves her though he couldnt understand his feelings...But atleast he cares for her and nupur also loves him...
