Sorry guys, could manage to write only a short part.
Part 148
Akka and Kaka came to welcome them at the gate. Akka was extremely happy to have her "kutti paiyan" (little boy) back. She cuddled him and kissed him and he was also happily pulling her hair. But she was sad to see that he had pulled down in a week. When they told her about his infection because of which he was not able to eat properly, she became sadder still. Kaka went and brought water for all of them.
Bua stood admiring the beautiful house. And the first thing she said on entering the house was "Armaan Riddhima, tumhara ghar bahut sunder hai."
A: aur bahut lucky bhi. Humey hamari har khushi is ghar mein mili hai. Isliye main isey kareedna chaha aur luckily I was able to.
He told her how he came to get the house. Kaka asked them if they would like some coffee, but when they answered in the negative, he said "aap log fresh hokar aajao, main khana lagata hoon." Akka handed the little one to Armaan and offered to show bua the guest room upstairs.Riddhima had informed the Guptas immediately after landing that they had reached Kochi. Now, she called them up to say that they had reached home.
Meanwhile Armaan changed and washed the little one and Akshat went into his room to freshen up. When all of them came to the dining table, akka took Ani to feed him his khichdi. She was determined to get him back to normal soon. And he even ate without any fuss.
"The trip was good, but kal duty join karna hai. So boring." Armaan grumbled making a small face.
A: Mujhe bhi to school jaana hai. Pata nahi miss ne kya kya karvaya hai. Sab kuch copy karna padega. At least aap ko woh to nahi karna padega.
R: Thank God, mujhe kahin nahi jaana. Me and bua have a lot to catch up with.
Soon after dinner they all retired to bed because they had to wake up early next morning and start their routine. Bua noticed that before going to bed Akshat set his books in his bag according to the timetable and also kept his uniform ready for the next day.
A week went by. While Armaan and Akshat were away, bua and Riddhima had a lot of heart to heart chats. In the evening bua would help Akshat with his school work. Thanks to her dictating he had been able to clear the back log in a couple of days. That gave Riddhima time to read her course material which had be mailed the previous week. Then when Armaan came back from work and they would all sit in the hall. Bua would tell incidents from Riddhima's childhood which Akshat and Armaan loved to hear.
Akshat couldn't believe that his mama had been so mischievious when bua told him that as a kid she had a habit of hiding things. Once when Dr. Shashank had come to drop her at Lonavala, she asked him to stay back for a day or two. But he said he couldn't, as he had some surgeries scheduled in Mumbai. She had been very upset about it, so she hid his wallet, which had his driving licence, under her bed. So he couldn't leave that night. All the children played different indoor games and had a wonderful time with him.The next morning everyone was shocked to see the wallet on the dining table. Dr. Shashank never found how it landed there, but after he left bua cross examined Riddhima and got the truth out.
Bua enthralled them all, with many such anecdotes. One evening Akshat innocently asked his dad "dad aapke bachpan ke baare mein mujhe kaun batayega?"
A: mera koi rishtedaar nahi hai jo bata sakta hai. Shayad bi hoti to bata sakti thi.
When Akshat asked him about who was bi? He explained that she was an aunt who had brought him up, just like his athai. Akshat knew that his dada and dadi had expired in an accident, but he also knew his dad became very sad whenever he questioned him about them. So he never did. His mama also didn't seem to know much about them.
That weekend, they took bua to their favourite spot, Pothamedu. She also loved its scenic beauty. While his mama and nani were admiring the place, Akshat quietly took his dad aside to remind him that they were into December and had to plan for the event of the month. (or was it the event of the year?) They both agreed to think and discuss if they got some good ideas.
The following week was Akshat's half yearly tests. Bua loved taking up his lessons and he also found it very challenging. He had begun to love his bua nani very much because she was so affectionate and lovable. She knew what to say to make him on top of the world. She never said a harsh word and always appreciated every little thing he did. That made him even better behaved and mannered than he usually was. He tried not to lose his temper even when Ani scribbled in one of his books, saying it was his mistake to leave it where he could reach it.
Bua on her part found this child too good to be true. She had brought up so many children from so many different backgrounds, but hadn't found many like him. He had inherited the best qualities from both his parents. Both his parents were very affectionate and helpful people and he was even a step ahead of them. He was extremely understanding and cool tempered like his dad. And like his mama he was very much academically inclined, hard working and methodical in all his work. He was very rarely naughty. It was as if the things he had seen his mama go through in the first six years of his life, had made him grow up before time. He was a kid with an adult mind.
The following week the two interns from Sanjeevani arrived at MSHC, as DR. Mohan had agreed to Dr. Shashank's request. In keeping with Sanjeevani's policy it was a girl – Dia and A boy – Varun. Armaan had arranged for PG accommodation for them in his colony. Actually he had wanted to let them stay in his house itself, but bua made him understand that it would be an intrusion on their privacy. So he had done the next best thing he could, so that they could travel back and forth with him.
He had gone out of his way helping them settle down. He had taken them shopping, showed them the restaurants which served north Indian food because he knew they would soon tire if they ate only south Indian food. When bua asked him who had helped him when he shifted here, he replied that since he had lived in Chennai for 3 years before coming here, he had picked some tamil, which came handy. He had also bought a book which had translation of Hindi phrases in Malayalam.
A: I had a tough time getting people to understand me. So I want to help them. Someone coming from Mumbai will surely feel out of place here. They need friends.
"Ok, ok point taken. Help them all you want, we have absolutely no objections," joked Riddhima, but don't forget us in the process.
Riddhima kept a hawk's eye on father and son but was unable to get any hint on what the duo had planned for her birthday. Even bua seemed to be genuinely unaware of any plans. They would surely give her some surprise, she had not doubts. The evening before her birthday, when they sat chatting Armaan casually asked her "what do you want tomorrow? I thought you would prefer to have a dinner with family so I'll make reservations in your favourite restaurant. Do you want to invite any friends?"
Riddhima looked wide eyed at him and asked "what's with you Armaan? When did you become so unromantic?"
A: I'm sorry, do you want to go on a candlelight dinner with me? That's fine too. I'm sure bua won't mind.
B: Why should I mind. It's your day. Celebrate it with the person you love the most. I'll help your akka and kaka in taking care of the kids. You may not get such opportunity every year. So make the best of it when you can.
R: Candlelight dinner par to hum last year bhi gaye the. I didn't mean that.
Then she described to bua the wonderful surprise Armaan and Akshat had given her by taking her to Thekady and all the other surprises they had showered on her.
A: Riddhima, that was your first birthday after our marriage, so naturally I had to give you some surprise. Surely you are not expecting it every year. I'll never ever forget the date, that's one promise that I can make.
Riddhima was flabbergasted, she couldn't understand whether to be happy or sad. Trying to hide her disappointment she said "Nahi hum kahin nahi jayenge, ghar par hi family ke saath achchese dinner kar lenge." Armaan agreed instantly saying "Theek hai but I'll order food from outside. Just tell me what all you would like to order.
