Part 21:

The picnic turns into a nightmare when everyone has to rush back home and the doctor tells them, they have to do a few tests to see if the baby is okay…

NT: (cryng) hum apne bacche ko bachaane ke liye kuch bhi karenge…dadi ma please … aap inse kahiye .. ke mere bacche ko kuch nahi ho sakta…

Dadi: Dev NT ko sambhaalo beta … uspe bahut bada sadma laga hai…

Dev goes to NT hugs her and tries to control her but she is totally hysterical.. Maan tries to keep Geet out of this, but Geet being the person she is, decides to make something for NT to have … she brings the soup in a tray. Outside, she hands it over to Nakul and asks him to take it inside.

NT throws the soup away and says …. " hume kuch nahi chahiye … hume bas apna baccha chahiye …"

Dev: NT doctor abhi aatey honge … maine unhe call kar dia hai… baby look at me .. tumhare baby ko kuch nahi hoga ….

Dadi is really worried, but she decides she would leave Dev alone with his wife and she comes out.

Dev: baby .. please mere liye .. rona band karo… you know I cant see you in this state … aur phir .. tum theek ho .. that's most important …

NT: aapko … shayad… iss bacche se kabhi koi lagav nahi tha … par … yeh humara baccha hai Dev … aur .. mere bacche ko agar kuch hua toh kya hua … aapke paas toh ek aur baccha hai na? jo aapka hai?

Dev is really hurt .. but at that moment .. looking at the state in which NT is, he stops himself …

Dev: NT … tumhe aaram ki sakt zaroorat hai… tum let jao… yeh lo… ye tablet khalo …

NT: kya hai isme Dev … neend ki goli? Jisey aap mujhe pilake … uss Geet ke paas waapis jaana chahte hai… jaise aap pichli baar chale gaye they?

Dev: you know what? Mujhe lagta hai .. ab mujhe yahan se jaana chahiye .. jab tak main yahan hoon.. tum aisi baatien karti rahogi…. He comes out of the room as NT throws the tablets on the table after him …

Dev comes down and he is sitting in the hall. Geet who is passing by see's him totally hassled. She wonders if she should say something, she walks away, but then she changes her mind again comes back and offers him a glass of water.

Dev looks up and see's Geet .. He takes it … has a sip and as Geet is about to leave …

Dev: Thanks Geet …!

Geet: khayal rakho uska …. Bahut pareshaan hai… bahut bada sadma pahuncha hai usey…

Dev: I guess …..

Geet again turns to leave as he says ….

Dev: Geet please … paanch minute ke liye yahan pe baithogi? Agar bro hotey toh main unhey poochta .. par …please …

Geet hesitates … but since she cant say no.. she sits down tensed …

For moments there is awkwardness as both of them don't talk .. finally Dev speaks …

Dev: kaise lagta hai?

Geet: huh?

Dev: mera matlab hai… apne andar ek jaan ko paalna … I don't know what that feels like ….

Geet: main jaanti hoon…

Dev: Geet I am very so…

Geet: agar fir se wahi sab baatien daurani hai .. toh… mujhe jaana hai…

Dev: nahi Geet … tum itni kathor kaise ban gayi ho… tum toh aise nahi thi…

Geet: kuch logon ke liye main abhi wahi Geet hoon.. jaise ke Maan sir … dadi ma … par kuch log bas ab meri zindagi main koi mayne nahi rakhte .. aur unse main pehchaana badhana nahi chahti ….

Dev: waise dekha jaye .. toh you are right .. aur yeh sahib hi hai … lekin iss sab main .. agar tum bura na mano toh main ek baat kehna chahta hoon

Geet: mujhe tumhare kisi bhi baat se ab koi farak nahi padhta ….(coldly)

Dev: ( a little hurt but straigtens his face and says) I really love my wife …

Geet: yeh toh bahut acchi baat hai…

Dev: aur main usey iss haal main nahi dekh paa raha hoon… pata nahi usey kyun lagta hai.. ke abhi bhi, tumhare aur mere beech kuch hai … toh main chahta tha … ke .. if you don't mind… agar tum usey kehdo .. ke … tumhe mujhse koi lena dena nahi hai… I mean….

Maan: (from behind) kya zaroorat hai usey yeh sab karne ki Dev ?

Dev turns around too see maan standing there with folded hands …looking at the two of them seriously… even Geet looks away ….

Maan: geet aisa kuch nahi karegi ….

Dev: bro .. aap kab aaye …

Maan: that's not important Dev … tum yeh kya kar rahe ho? Maine tumhe mana l=kia tha na .. geet se Baat karne se?

Dev goes to Maan and hugs him .. and says …

Dev: I don't care bro … my marriage is on the rocks … meri biwi mujhpe shak karti hai … usey lagta hai .. main usey pyar nahi karta … aur agar yeh galatfaimi koi door kar sakti hai toh wo sirf Geet hai …

Maan: (still looking at him in cold anger) aur .. tumhe aisa kyun lagta hai …explain…

Maan: Geet tum ghar jao ….

Geet goes away from there slowly ….

Maan: Dev! Dekho … tumhari umr ab samjhaneki nahi rahi … tum baton ki aur complicate kar rahe ho … jab tum dono yahan se chale jaoge .. sab khud ba khud theek ho jayega …

Dev: nahi bro …! Jabse maine Geet se… ( he hesitates to complete the line) and says… wo mujhpe yakeen hi nahi karti …

Maan: yakeen karne layak tumne kaam kiya ( sarcastically)

Dev: Bro … mujhse galti ho gayi … nahi .. guna .. par … uske baad .. I swear bro .. maine kabhi bhi .. kisi ladki , ya fir Geet ko bhi uss nazar se nahi dekha …

Maan: Dev … iss baat ko tumne bigaadi hai .. isey tumhe hi sudharna hoga ….

Maan places his arm on Dev's shoulder and walks away from there ….

Geet is in the garden watering the plants … Maan goes from behind slowly and blows air into her ear and calls out her name … But she freaks out so much, she turns around falling into his arms in the process wetting all his clothes and a little of hers as well…. Maan tries to manage the pipe and turn it away.. but .. the water splashes onto the two of them… Both of them are real close .. all wet … Geet starts shivering… Maan's eyes first fall on her eyes first … and then her lips …she catches him gazing at her … and she blushes …as he moves closer … she moves a little away … he moves closer …she moves away … but an arm strongly holds her from behind pushing her forward .. and she comes springing right back upclose to him… they could kiss any moment … an eye lock happens and Geet moves her eyes away, and slowly loosens Maan's grip over and turns away to the other side … smiling to herself…

Maan: places his arm on her shoulder …

A chill runs down her spine… she would be able to resist it this time she is sure … but … he asks her …

Maan: geet tum theek ho na?

Geet: kya yeh aapka favorite sawaal hai sir?

Maan: kya?

Geet: nahi aap har baar mujhse yeh sawaal karte ho na … issi liye …

Maan: nahi .. main bas … yehi jaana chahta tha .. ke tumko .. wo … kahin… bura toh nahi laga ke…

Geet: maan sir … aap har baat pe itna ghabra kyun jaate ho …

Maan: geet aaj se … agle hafte tak .. tum haveli main nahi aogi …jab tak…

Geet: Dev aur NT chale na jaye?

Maan doesn't say anything….

Geet: Sir …Dev aaj bahut ghabraye hue they .. aur .. wo NT se bahut pyar karte hai … mujhe nahi lagta mujhe ghabrane ki koi zaroorat hai … aur aapko bhi … samjhe aap?

Maan: nahi nahi … fir bhi….

Geet: maan sir … wo aapka bhai hai … aur main jaanti hoon.. aap unki bahut care karte hai … aur main nahi chahti ….
Maan: Geet tum mujhe yeh lecture already de chuki ho….

Geet: meri baatien aapko lecture lagti hai?

Maan: nahi ussey bhi boring … lecture main kuch seekhne ko milta hai … tum toh be wajah shuru ho jaati ho ….

Geet: theek hai toh main jaa rahi hoon…!! Mere students mera wait kar rahe hai …

Maan calls her out but she walks away as maan smiles to himself …

Else where …

Dev after talking on the phone to the doctor … comes into the room.. he notices NT is finally sleeping…

Dev: yeh to so rahi hai … ab mujhe iske purane reports kahan se milenge.. she opens the shelf … and starts ransacking… and finally after looking here and there he manages to find a file… that says… " Naintara Rathod- Jaya Hospital…"

He opens it and stares at it in shock….

Dev: college ke accident ke baad, Naintara ka uterus nikaal dia gaya tha? Iska Matlab …..

Precap: NT crying and begging Geet … hum apna baccha kho chuke hai… aur aap toh vadde veerji ke saath kushi khushi shaadi karke fir se bache paida kar sakte hai .. please … humare Dev ki nishaani hume dedeejiye …hum zindagu bhar aapke aabhari rahenge ....
