aww thats sweet, thanks, n because of ur comment i've started writing the part, though its not going the way i had wanted it to...

Im finally updating, and this is the longest part i've written for the ff so far. I put AR scenes in here, though i personally dont know how they turned out, so do tell me what you guys think.

PART 9

While the girls were busy gathering their painting supplies and shopping, the guys were discussing an important topic in their apartment.

"Rahul you better not hurt Muskaan, she's like a sister to me so commit to her only if you're sure of your feelings," Armaan said seriously.

"Take it easy Armaan, the poor guy is already nervous and you're freaking him out even more," Abhi tried to help Rahul.

Rahul was quietly sitting on a chair after telling Armaan and Abhi that he was in love with Muskaan. He wasn't nervous because of his friends' comments, but it was Muskaan's reaction that made him restless. He knew that Armaan was concerned about Muskaan and the fact that he knew her for so many years made him a little protective. But he also knew that his friends would support him throughout the way if he was sincere towards Muskaan, which he was. The only thing that was keeping him from confessing his love to Muskaan was her reaction. A part of him was sure that she loved him as much as he did, but another part of him was apprehensive. A sense of uncertainty engulfed him and he felt that maybe his love was one-sided. And if that was the case then he wouldn't only loose his love, but also a great friend and comedian in the form of Muskaan. Just thinking about her Bollywood craze brought a smile on his face.

Breaking out of his reverie, Rahul assured Armaan and Abhi that he was very serious about Muskaan and that hurting her would be the last thing he'd ever do. As soon as Rahul had uttered the words Armaan was satisfied. He knew from the moment Rahul had expressed his feelings that his friend wasn't interested in a fling with Muskaan, but a serious relationship. But he wanted to be assured once again, and Rahul's words had given him the assurance that the protective brother in him needed.

To lighten up the mood and help Rahul get rid of his worried state Armaan said, "Now that you are committed, seems like I'll have to party all by myself and handle extra girls."

Abhi couldn't help but saying, "You used to handle them all even before Nikki and Muskaan came in our lives."

"Seriously Armaan, why aren't you interested in commitment and having a girlfriend?" Rahul asked.

"Because luckily I haven't been bitten by the love bug like you two and I'm very satisfied with dating and spending time with different girls instead of having the same one hovering around me 24/7."

Abhi rolled his eyes at Armaan's well-rehearsed and typical answer. Rahul shrugged and believed Armaan, though Abhi was skeptical like always. He'd known Armaan for a longer period of time than Rahul and something told him that there was more to the reason why Armaan wasn't interested in relationships than he let on.

After calmly replying to Rahul's questions Armaan started winding back into his past and thought about the last serious relationship he'd been in. He'd started going out with her in the first semester of college itself. They'd met at a football game and were instantly attracted to each other. As time went on they got to know each other and soon started going out. For Armaan she was a great girl and they both were very similar. She was pretty, outgoing and fun-loving. Sometimes she became a little immature and behaved like an annoying girl, but she was a girl after all so Armaan tolerated it. Life was fun and games until he faced reality again. It was during winter break of his second year that he felt extremely embarrassed and annoyed at the same time.

Despite Armaan telling Saha that his relationship with his parents wasn't great, she insisted on meeting them. Saha was a stubborn girl and Armaan's resistance to letting her meet his family made her want to meet them even more. A week before Christmas Saha showed up at Armaan's house and when she walked in the open door, she was greeted by lots of shouting and a very chaotic scene. Armaan's parents were arguing in high-pitched voices, and this scene caught Saha's attention so quickly that she didn't even get a chance to admire the beauty of the Mallik house that many admired and envied. No one had noticed Saha entering the house, though she saw Armaan rushing towards his parents. Armaan's father was boiling with rage and was about to slap his wife when Armaan came in the way and got slapped. His mother grabbed her purse and walked out of the house completely ignoring Saha at the doorstep. Armaan turned around to leave his father alone as well when he saw Saha's shocked face and she saw slight tears in his eyes. As he quietly walked to the garden, Saha followed. When they both were seated on the chairs, Saha started, "Armaan are you ok? I can't believe your father slapped you! That's horrible, what kind of a man is he, he tried to slap his wife and wasn't even bothered when he slapped you instead. I was shocked to see them fight like that, they treat each other like animals. Now I know why you didn't want me to meet them, its so sad that you come from such an ill-mannered and violent family."

That was the end of it, no matter how many problems were in his family, no one had a right to criticize them like this. This attitude from Saha made it clear for Armaan that she was another selfish girl who would never be able to understand his situation and his pain. Instead of making him feel better, Saha's comments released the emotions in him and he ended the relationship with her then and there.

That was it, after that Armaan never bothered to get into another relationship because all the girls he'd come across were the same. He knew that at some point they'd be persistent about wanting to meet his family and they would react the same way in which Saha did. He knew that his long-term relationships would lead to similar events, and all the girls would react in the same manner, which is why he took the easy way out and distanced himself from clingy girls and relationships. Perhaps one day he'll find a girl who he'd want to take to his family, and who would support him and understand him, until then Armaan was going to relax and enjoy life without any girl drama.

Coming back to the present Armaan saw Abhi giving tips to Rahul on how to propose to Muskaan. Seeing Rahul's confused expression and his indecisive state Armaan advised, "Just take her to some Shahrukh Khan movie and then propose to her right there. Just make sure a lot of people notice you proposing because that girl indulges in attention,"

Abhi and Armaan laughed at Rahul's brightened face, and Abhi asked, "Rahul are you serious about Muskaan? I mean you love her? She's a freak," Abhi laughed as Rahul tried to throw the remote at him. Rahul's aim wasn't perfect and the remote hit Armaan's shoulder instead and he said, "Im already heavily injured because of my interactions with Riddhima, I've fallen on the floor twice, and hard, so can you please be a little considerate and aim at the right person?'

Rahul nodded and went back to thinking about Muskaan, and Abhi said, "I don't know what you said or did to her Armaan, she seems like a nice girl and Nikki always told me that she was shy and quiet. I still can't believe she got you, the Armaan Malik twice in one day," Abhi chuckled.

Armaan smiled thinking about how she was unintentionally the reason why he had to take Tylenol when he returned home and was still slightly bruised. "You don't know her Abhi, I knew her in high school and she is anything but sweet and nice. We used to fight everyday for illogical reasons. She just used to come and fight with me for no reason, and something made me fight back with her, and I rarely knew why I was fighting with her. Though she is a nice girl, deep down she's simple and sweet."

"Oooh, I see someone had or has a crush on someone," Abhi teased Armaan.

"Nah, we were just good friends," Armaan smiled and headed to the bathroom to get ready.

The girls had finished shopping for their apartment and were waiting for the guys at the food court in the mall.

"I'm starving, if the guys don't come anytime soon, im going to go get my food and eat. We told them to be here half an hour ago and they still haven't showed up," Nikki said frustrated.

"Yeah, I'll eat with you too, why do we have to wait for them?" Riddhima said, fixing her dress.

"But I think we should wait for Rahul and the guys, I'm sure they'll be here any moment," Muskaan said in a meek voice, which surprised both Riddhima and Nikki.

Riddhima smiled and nudged Muskaan, "Aww are you missing Rahul Muski? Isnt it sweet Nikki that Muski wants to wait for Rahul?"

"Yeah Muski that's so sweet of you, I'm sure Rahul would be happy to know that you are so considerate," Nikki winked at Riddhima while Muskaan turned red.

"I didn't say lets wait only for Rahul, I was talking about all the guys, and Nikki you love Abhi, don't you want to wait to eat with him?" Muskaan said trying to divert her attention.

"Pshh, I've eaten with him a lot of times and when im hungry I don't wait for anyone, and Abhi knows that."

"You guys can wait, Muski you can wait for Rahul and Nikki you can wait for Abhi, I'm not waiting for anyone so im going to get food," Riddhima said getting out of her chair and walking towards the food counter.

While walking back to the table after getting her food tray, Riddhima bumped into Armaan who was kneeling on the floor, tying his shoelaces. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal if Riddhima's tray wasn't overloaded and the cup of water wasn't placed right on the edge. As soon as she bumped into him, the water tipped over and fell all over Armaan's messily organized hair style.

Armaan was not happy.

He looked up with an annoyed look but a pleasant memory flashed through his mind when he saw Riddhima's expression. Her shock, surprise, and apology were all evident in that one expression. Seeing Armaan, she slightly smiled and said, "Sorry."

While Armaan's ears heard Riddhima's apology, his eyes were pleasantly surprised to see that the Riddhima from high school now actually could be called 'hot.' Riddhima wasn't oblivious to his gaze, and even though she was very happy with this reaction from Armaan, she didn't want to let it affect her so she added, "That was payback for the time you spilled water on me in high school."

Armaan looked at her face and with a mischievous smile he said, "Are you sure you want to recreate the high school scene, because that would mean I'd have to throw pasta on your hair which you probably spent an hour on this morning."

Riddhima had her mouth open in indignation while Armaan took her tray from her hands and walked back to the gang.

Rahul and Abhi came back with two large food trays as soon as Armaan and Riddhima sat down. She knew Muskaan and Nikki wouldn't let her take Rahul or Abhi's seats, so she had to sit next to Armaan. Riddhima looked at the guys and smiled, "Aww you guys are sweet, you brought food for Muski and Nikki, I had to get my stuff myself."

"Do you want something?" Armaan asked, surprising Riddhima.

"Uh no, I was just saying how cute they are for not letting their girls get the food," Riddhima said playing with a strand of hair.

"Fine, but I need something from you," Armaan slowly reached over Riddhima's chair and was almost leaning on her. He was close enough to smell Riddhima's hair and for a split second he closed his eyes to take in her fragrance. Riddhima wasn't any more comfortable than he was, his cologne was strongly overpowering her senses, but right then Armaan moved back. It took a few seconds for Riddhima to realize what had happened, Armaan had bent over to grab her purse that was on the floor on the other side of her chair. She was looking at him open her purse, and suddenly she realized that her purse was in his hands. She roughly pulled it back from him, and he looked at her confused. Riddhima looked at him, waiting to get an answer for his actions, and he said, "What? You messed up my hair and now I need a mirror to fix it," Armaan said taking her purse again.

"Ok ok, I'll give it to you," Riddima said exasperated and after shuffling through her purse for a minute she finally found it.

Armaan took the mirror and started fixing his hair, the mirror was small so he had to move it around, and from one angle he could clearly see Riddhima sitting to the side of him. She was smiling at Muskaan and Rahul's awkward conversation, and them being extra polite to each other. Armaan smiled looking at her unconsciously move her loose strand of hair behind her ear every few seconds. He kept gazing at her until she turned towards him and asked for her mirror.

"Are you done fixing your hair, or is it going to take another hour," Riddhima asked remembering his comment about her spending time on her hair earlier.

Trying to act normal, and get the image of her out of his head, he shook his head, and said "Yeah, im done, thanks."

Riddhima looked at him with a weird expression again, she wasn't expecting a thanks from him, especially because his hair was ruined because of her.
