Benji Dia FF: Is it meant to be?|Chp1-pg5 - Page 4

Here's the chapter one of the FF. Hope you all will like it. It' s a pretty short update, but I promise to give longer updates from next time onwards :)

Chapter 1:

The bell finally rang, indicating the end of another tiring day. Dia walked up to her locker, and slowly took out her books from there. She looked around everywhere, but she didn't see anyone around. That's funny, she thought, Benji is always near my locker at this time.

But it wasn't so, this time. Dia tried to pretend as though it made no difference to her, whether Benji was there or not, and continued removing her books from the locker. She suddenly heard footsteps behind her, and she instantly turned around, but immediately frowned when she saw Uday standing there.

"Dodo, what are you doing here?" she asked indignantly.

Uday scratched his head, asking himself the same question. "Why am I here?"

Dia let out a scowl and walked off from there with her books.

"Dude, weren't you supposed to be with Dia now?" Samrat asked Benji.

Benji simply shook his head. "Why do you guys think I like to be with her 24/7?"

"Because you do" Samrat responded. "Is everything okay?"

"What do you mean?"

"You don't seem yourself today," Samrat said. "I mean, you aren't your usual self today."

"I'm fine dude," Benji sighed. "I'm absolutely fine."

"You don't seem fine," Gunjan butt in, as she came and stood beside Samrat. Samrat looked at her and smiled, and lovingly placed his arm around her. "Is everything okay Benji?"

"Why can't you guys just give me a break?" Benji yelled, and stormed off from there.

Gunjan was shocked. Benji had never ever yelled at her. She was upset at his strange behavior. The last time she remembered, Benji was extremely happy, and wanted to confess his love for Dia. Dia. Maybe she was the reason for this sudden change in behavior. Had she rejected him? Why wasn't Benji telling her anything?

"Samrat, has this got something to do with Benji asking out Dia?" Gunjan asked.

Samrat looked thoughtful as that possibility suddenly hit him. "You're right. That could be the reason."

"I'm going to speak to Dia" Gunjan said and then left from there.

"Nupur!" Dia called out to Nupur, who was just about to leave for home with her beloved husband, Mayank.

Nupur turned around and saw Dia calling out to her. "What's wrong Dia?"

"Nothing" Dia replied. "I just wanted to know if you've seen Benji anywhere."

Nupur shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I haven't."

Dia looked upset. "I wonder where he went."

"Maybe you could try the canteen. He might be with Samrat and Uday." Mayank spoke.

"Thanks" Dia said.

Just as Dia was about to leave from there, Nupur called out to her. "Dia, how are you going home?"

"Of course by car." Dia replied and smiled. "Bye Nupur, bye Mayank."

Dia then walked off from there, hoping to find Benji somewhere.

"Benji!" Dia called out to him, as she saw him walk ahead of her. "Benji!"

Benji stopped in his tracks. Dia was calling out to him. He couldn't ignore her, as he had planned to. He gave in, and slowly turned around to look at her.

Dia was slowly walking towards him, looking rather relieved to have found him finally.

"Where the hell where you?" she asked him.

"I was in the canteen," Benji replied. "With Samrat."

"Why didn't you meet me near my locker?" Dia asked him.

"I forgot. Sorry." Benji replied dully.

"Forget? Benji, you never forgot to meet me! What is wrong with you today?" Dia asked him.

Benji didn't respond. He just looked down at his feet silently.

Dia noticed his expression and suddenly realization hit her. "Is it because I said no to you?"

Benji still didn't answer.

"Look Benji, I know you're hurt because I said no to you. But that doesn't mean that we end everything that's there between us. Look at us; we used to be best friends before you loved me, and we still will remain best friends, although I know you love me."

"Easy for you to say, Dia." Benji sighed.

"I know it isn't easy for you Benji, but I promise, our friendship will remain unaffected." Dia said, trying hard to convince Benji.

"It won't Dia! I know you'll end up breaking friendship with me!"

"Benji, I won't. Please trust me. But please don't behave strangely with me." Dia pleaded.

Benji looked at Dia.

Dia looked back at him pleadingly. "I want this friendship Benji."

"On one condition," Benji replied.

"Anything" Dia agreed.

"You'll still consider me," Benji said.

Dia looked thoughtful, but then nodded.

Benji smiled at her. He slowly brought his hands forward. "Friends?"

Dia smiled back, and instead of shaking his hand, she hugged him tightly. "Forever."
