Part 16

Nupur came out of her thoughts which gave nothing other than pain.....& went back to her mother in law as she was they only reason why she came back.....& she had to be with her

Mayank was searching for his love in the hall.....& soon found her talking to someone…he could easily make out the smile on her face was fake.....deep down inside she was hurt....The most painful thing for Mayank was he couldn't ease her pain coz he himself was the reason for it…

Mayanks Pov

I'm sorry Nupur I took away your happiness I took away your smile.....But I promise I'll bring it back ....take as much time as you want my love for you have & will increase with every phase of time…and I'm sure it will be my love which will heel your wounds...... As I look back on those days, I realize how much I missed you .....he closed his eyes & said in his heart... I love you Nupur.... if only his heart can convey what he wants to say.....

Nupur who was talking to one of the guests paused & looked around the moment she felt she heard something .....not just something ..she heard her love calling her

It was the heart beat she wanted to hear in these 5 years she looked at Mayank as her eyes could read his hearts confession ...... her heart yearned & she wanted to forget everything for a second & run & hug him .....and tell him even she loved him.....but she couldn't.....

Mayank looked at her ....his lips curved into a smile thinking she can still hear his hearts voice .... She still loves him ..... though she is not near him .....he was happy at least she was with him .....

Soon the party got over all the guests left ….Nupur helped Shilpa to her room she gave her medicines….& then came back to her room….

Mayank entered the room to find Nupur already changed & sitting in front of the mirror & brushing her long silky hair .... she looked so heavenly.... Nupur looked into the mirror she saw Mayank standing at the door with Arjun sleeping in his arms.....she could see his constant gaze towards her.....the moment their eyes met she lowered her eyes & started looking here & there.....it was only then Mayank realized he was staring at his beautiful wife...... he quickly looked away & walked towards the bed & placed down Arjun , removed his shoes ....ruffled his hair & kissed his forehead he slowly placed the comforter over him & went to the washroom

All this time Nupur was watching Mayank from the corner of her eye he had so much concerned & love for their son she thought was she unfair in keeping him away from his son for 5 long years….but then he himself was responsible for this....wasn't he?????

Next day morning

S-Mayank beta Arjun ka school mein admission kab karwa rahe ho

Nupur dropped the plate which was in her hand & Mayank looked at her

S-kya hua Nupur

N-nai kuch nai….she said picking up the plate

M-Maa wo…

A-Dadi mera school toh London mein hai…..

S-hai nai beta tha …abh toh tum yahi rahoge na…she said as she kissed his forehead.... don't you want to go to school

A-No Dadi I love going to school…but shome timsh I don't like…..ashk Mamma…to which Nupur just nodded her head

S-theek hai Mayank aaj hi Arjun ko school mein enroll karwa do….

M-theek hai Maa….office jaane se pehle school hi chalte hai….he said looking at Nupur

Arjun get ready…… Mayank said & went to his room….

In the room

Nupur got Arjun dressed up after which he ran downstairs

Mayank was wearing his shirt

M-Nupur wo Arjun ko school….agar tum nai chahti toh…

N-koi baat nai Mayank waise bhi jab tak hum yaha hai Arjun bekaar mein ghar mein bore ho jaayega toh school mein admission karwana hi better rahega

Mayank felt sad hearing that she was still very firm on leaving

M-theek hai chalo….

After Arjun's admission they were coming out of the school Arjun yelled

A-Daddy look Lati is here…..

M-Ya Rati studies in the same school

Arjun was in Rati's class soon he got used to the new school Rati was his first friend she was a bit akdu but sweet and Arjun was not less naughty he liked to tease her & irritate her a lot... both played together & they became good friends

One day in Morning….

A-mamma can I go to lati's house… please

N-Ajun beta you woke up early today she must be sleeping now you can go later

A-but Im feeling bored without her…….pleashh mamma let me go na

N- but if she is sleeping don't disturb her….

A- ok ill back soon…….

Arun went to Rati's house it was just beside their house………

But soon he was back within no time

N-kya hua Arjun back so soon

A-wo….Rati was sleeping……he said with a giggle

N-I told you na….common now have your breakfast ….

Arjun had a wide naughty smile on his face Nupur observed that and asked him

N-Arjun beta why that naughty smile on your face…did you do any mischief?

Arjun laughed & said kuch nai mamma I'll tell you aftelwalds he he he…

N-shaking her head…. Yeh Arjun bhi naa….. she ruffled his hair & went to the kitchen….

Aftrer sometime Mayank came down Nupur was in the kitchen….while Arjun was sitting at the table having his breakfast…

A-dad why you got up so late..???

M-Arjun today is Sunday na …..Ahh….I'm still feeling sleepy …he said stretching his hands….

A-bad mannels daddy you should not do like this on breakfast table

M-Ok baba sorry …where is your mom……

A-in the kitchen….Mammaaaaaaa….. daddy is calling you …he shouted

M-aare when did I call her I just asked where is she???

A-Ok….. Mammaaaa daddy is not calling you …..he is just asking whel are you ??.....he shouted again

M-Oh God .!!! he hit his head…..wat will she think….

Nupur came out of the kitchen…..

N-kya hua Mayank

M-nai wo …wo…..tumne breakfast kar liya ….????

N-wo…..she was about to say something when Arjun said

A-no no she didn't have… when dadi asked Mamma said "nai Maa mai Mayank ke saath kha lungi"….he imitated in Nupur's voice

Mayank & Nupur both looked at Arjun

Nupur's mouth hung open while Mayank had a huge smile on his face which he was trying to hide…..

N-Arjun tum….she glared at him

A- he he he …………… he jump of the chair & ran away…

N-(thinks) jo nahi sunna hota hai wo sunleta hai aur jisko nahi bolna usi ke samne bol deta hai… wo tou maine maa se aise hi keh diya tha….pata nahi Mayank kya soch raha hai…

M-Nupur …..

N-coming out of her thoughts … haann….

M-breakfast karein …..tum waise bhi mere liye hi ruki thi na……

N-nai wo…. Kitchen mai thoda kaam tha isliye…

Though Nupur didn't agree in front of him….. he knew she was actually waiting for him…which made his day......

Nupur sat on the chair beside him & served the breakfast….

Both were eating silently …. Glancing at each other time to time…

As Nupur was serving some curry to Mayank.... the spoon kept at the end of the table fell down.....instantly both bend down to pick it up.....& their hands brushed Mayank caught her hand instead of spoon…Nupur felt her heartbeat increase as his fingers touched her skin… she raised her head & found Mayank staring at her loving though she tried hard not to look in those deep brown eyes but failed as her eyes met his…& both were lost in each other.......

A-mamma …… Arjun came running towards her…

Still Mayank & nupur were lost ....they could read the depth of love for each other in their eyes......

Arjun came near them…aalle mamma I want to go to toilet…Jaldiii… he shouted…They came out of their thoughts .. Mayank left her hand .. she quickly adjusted herself back on the chair..

N- kya hua Arjun….???

A-allle mujhe susu aallii….. he said jumping….wat wherl you both doing down….

Nupurs' cheeks turned red & she fluttered her eyelashes rapidly looking to the other side

Though her eyes were looking down she knew Mayank was staring at her in order to hide her blush she quickly got up& took Arjun with her…

Mayank simply smiled his heart was elated seeing his wife blushing & turning red …she looked so beautiful when her fair cheeks took a pinkish turn..& her big brown eyes conveyed all the feelings she wants to hide.....he shook his head & ran his hand in his hair.... God I lost myself to her.....

In the evening

Rati came to Arjun's house…she was wearing tee & Capri jeans with two ponytails looking cute obviously…

She saw all the members sitting the hall

R-hi uncle hi aunty…..

M&N-hiii beta….

Then she went towards Shilpa

R-Namste dadi...... she said & touched her feet…

S-god bless you dear…..she kissed her cheek

Arjun was watching this he made faces when his dadi kissed Rati…

Rati turned & said hi Arjun….

A-Hi …La…he thought.... she will again correct me I'll not say her name only he just said HI…

Rati was too smart she understood he is not taking her name coz he couldn't pronounce it properly…

Mean while shilpa wanted to rest so Nupur took her to the room

Rati went & sat besided Mayank….

R-uncle why cant Arjun say "R"

Arjun raised his eyebrows….& turned red in anger…

A-I can say it….

R-ya ya you can say "it".. but not R….

Mayank was laughing watching them…

M-yes Arjun say R….

Nupur came back…

A-why should I say…. He sounded irritated

Nupur took him in his arms and made him sit on his lap…

N-why are you troubling my son…. She said kissing his hair..

Both Mayank & Rati laughed…this made Arjun even more angry…

A-mamaa see them na..

N-leave it na Arjun.. smile like you were smiling in the morning..

A-alllee…. Yesh…..he jumped down from her lap

N-what happened ??

A-mamma you know this girl na…. he said pointing towards Rati..

N-hmm.. while Rati widened her eyes to listen what he was gonna say…

A-thish girl na….

R-excuse me I have a name….

A-Oh…. leally…..

Rati laughed yes really …….

Mayank & Nupur looked at each other & laughed at the way both of them were fighting…..

N-Arjun tell na what you were telling

A-she sucks her thumb while sleeping……..he said laughing uncontrollably

R-no I don't …

A-yesh you do

R- how do you know that??

A-I saw it when I came to yourl house in morning…you were sleeping and…..he started laughing again

Even Mayank & Nupur laughing but they controlled seeing the change of expression on Rati's face

A-Lati is baby baby…lati is baby….

R-don't cal me baby…….you are a baby….you can not talk properly

A-I can talk plopelly

R-he he he you cant….. ok say roller coaster ride….

Arjun frowned & stared at her..

Both Mayank & nupur were quite ….. all were silent and were waiting for his reply… Rati was having a winning look on her face…

All eyes were upon him…

Rati –bolo na….

A-Lolla costal lide ………… he shouted.. …& the three of them burst out laughing…

Rati was rofling on the sofa beside him

Mayank was holding his stomach & laughing…

Arjun was going red in anger….

Nupur was trying hard but couldn't control…. Even she was laughing like anything….

Mayank saw Arjun he was standing Mayank stopped laughing he caught Arjun's hand & pulled him but he was stubborn and was not moving at all.....

Mayank got up lifted Arjun & made him sit on the sofa beside Rati….

M-Arjun beta its so easy ill teach you how to say…..

M-say "Roler"

A-Lolel

R-say "Arjun"….

A-Arjun….

R-wen you can say Arjun then why cant Roler…. Try once more….

A-loler….I don't know…

R-not lo…. Say Ro…

A-RLo….lo rlo rrllo… he was trying so hard mixing R&L…. Roler…finally he said it…Yippee I said it I said it….

M- see I told you … you can do it….

A-now who's the baby…. He said raising his eyebrows….

R-you still have more two words to go.... she said placing her hands on her hips…so you are still the Baby Arjun….

A-no waysh ….

R-ok tell me roller coaster ride in one go

Arjun knew he cant say he was again left bewildered as how to say it….

Nupur saw this and she changed the topic

N-chalo bohut ho gaya tum dono ka… now stop this & come & have dinner… its already 8….

R-no aunty I'll go home my mom will be waiting….

N-you have dinner & go…. I'll call & tell your mom about it…

R-ok aunty….

All of them had dinner…. then Rati & Arjun played for sometime…then Rati left.....

As Arjun was very tired he immediately dozed of as soon as he hit the bed

N-Yeh bacho ki gadbad mein aaj ka din kaha chal gaya pata hi nahi chal…

M-haan per bada maza aaya….

A-loler…roler…costle lide…rll lrllr ll

Both looked at Arjun he was deep in sleep but was blabbering

Mayank saw Nupur he raised his eye… ab yeh janab phir se shuru hogaye…

They both laughed…

Nupur went & sat beside Arjun she placed her hands over her knees resting her back on the bed post……

N-pata hai Mayank jab yeh chota tha..

Mayank also came & sat on the other end of the bed….

Nupur continued…

N-mujhe isse Alphabets sikhane itni mushkil hui thi na By god

M-kyu wo R mai atak jata tha kya…he said running his hand in Arjun's hair…& smiling

N-aare R mein tou atakta tha per LMNOP ke jaga MNLOP bolta tha….

Mayank laughed …

N-aur tab bhi neend mai aise hi bolta rehta tha… he is much like you jo ek baar sikh lene ki thaan leta hai tou kar ke rehta hai….

M-aur nahi tou kya after all he is Mayank Sharma's son....

N-Pata hai jab wo play school mein tha London mai….. he won First price in running race ….God jab tou uski khushi ka thikana nahi tha…you have to look the smile on his face when he wins something…..

Mayank was smiling but soon his eyes filed with tears….remembering he missed the most memorable days of his son…

N-and you know what… she said looking at Mayank…but to her surprise found him in tears…

N-Mayank…tum….

M-I missed so much na Nupur…. I wasn't their when he opened his eyes for the first time ….. I didn't hear the first word from his mouth…try to understand his baby language ….. I dint see him crawling…… I wasn't their to hold his tiny hand & to teach him walk…to hold him when he falls… he was not there in my life you were not with me….and …I was so unlucky that …… he couldn't speak more…. Words got stuck in his throat… and tears flooded down his cheeks… his heart ached …. He lost this only because of his mistake of not trusting his wife…

M-excuse me…. He got up & went to the washroom…

Nupur was shocked she was the one who kept him away from all this he had every right as a father to see his son.....a guilt built inside her heart seeing Mayank in this condition.......

As she heard the voice of the knob she slide under the sheet …pretending that she was asleep……Mayank came out & saw Nupur sleeping peacefully….he walked towards her side to switch off her bed lamp .. but stood still seeing her lovely face glowing in the dim light of lamp...Nupur could feel his presence near her.......

He was getting attracted towards her.. he was away from his love for a prolonged period of 5 years only he knew how he spend those years....but now he wanted to erase those painful memories take her into his arms & hug her feel her.... he wanted to live those moments which they missed …… fill those 5 years gap….. A strand of hair lay on her face caressing her soft cheeks…..he raised his hand to tuck her hair behind her ear

Nupur could sense the warmth of his palm engulf her face …she already had goose bumps thinking about the feel which she would get when his fingers touch her....he was about to touch her face but then he drew back his hand....he switched off the bed lamp & went to the other side of the bed....

Nupur felt his hand move away....she opened her eyes she could sense the pain in his heart......

This was the first time she spoke to him so openly after her return & unknowingly said many things which hurted him ….

And she felt sad…..why did this happen to them …why did fate bring that day in their life….. their happy life which took such a turn…..though they were together but still so far…. in one room but miles apart…..her mind couldn't get over what happened 5 years back…..but today seeing the love he had for her & their son.....she felt her heart had forgiven him but then her mind was still playing games reminding her the pain of 5years.......
