Prt1-pg 1

(Part 2)

"We could have spent more time outside" I said as I also leaned against the wall, just like mayank did. It was 6.30pm and we were waiting for dia and Rv, in the station, for the last half an hour.

"You enjoyed the day?" mayank asked me, turning his head to face me. I also turned to look at him but as soon as I met his gaze, I felt shiver rushing through my spine. He had a very intense look in his eyes that was making me blush for no reason. For a second, I stared back deep into his eyes but gazed away quick enough as I felt a dangerous attraction towards him at that moment. I smiled, hoping I wasn't blushing and stood properly, off the wall.

"I did, very much" I responded with full honestly. I truly enjoyed my day with mayank, especaily since I saw him after such a long time. In fact I always enjoyed any day or any time I spent with him. I like, no, I love his company. And today, for the first time, I felt that he also loved my company. Loved? Maybe not'

Mayank stood properly and stepped closer to me "I also did, in fact I loved today" he said in his softer tone. I looked up and realize he was only inches away from me. "I need to tell you something" he almost whispered. This time, there was no way I could stop myself from blushing hard. I don't why I felt like he wanted to tell me something I would like to hear. But how is that possible? He would never tell me what I want to hear. I brushed off all the messy thoughts going into my mind.

I swallowed and tried to behave casually "What?" I asked him. I saw him hesitating so I joked, "Since when do you hesitate before telling me something?"

He smiled, a bit uneasy. "Since I decided to tell you this". My heart skipped at this instant.. Maybe I was right, maybe he did want to tell me what I wanted to hear.

"Tell me what?" I murmured. He again inched closer to me, as I had unknowingly stepped back while speaking. He reached my hand, gently. I looked down at my hand in his and then up at him. "Nupur" he started .

"Mayank,Nupur" I heard someone yell from behind. Mayank dropped my hand immediately as we turned around to see who was calling us. It was dia .

She paced towards us. "Am I missing something?" she questioned, her brows raised. She probably saw mayank holding my hand. Forget holding hands, she is no blind to see how close I and he were standing. Mayank stepped back and ran his fingers through his thick hair. "Hey you're finally here" he told her.

"What happened?" she asked him, looking at me, then at him. She could somehow feel we were tensed and a little bit annoyed that she turned up all of a sudden, breaking our moment. Well at least, I was annoyed.

"Nothing, let's go we are already late" I said. I needed to divert her attention so she doesn't ask any further question. I don't even know what happened or rather what mayank wanted to tell me so how was I supposed to explain what happened. "Where is Rv?" I suddenly remembered of his existence.

"He took his train home" She then pulled me closer to her for a girly talk "I have so much to tell you,gosh Rv is sooo romantic" I faked a smile. Romantic my foot! I can laugh out loud just imagining Rv trying to be romantic in his hanging jeans and two meter long silver chain around his neck.

Mayank cleared his throat "Erm, let's first go home dia, then you can tell her how romantic that boyfriend of your is." he smirked, letting her know he heard what she told me in my ears.

"The name is Rv" she snapped.

"Yeah, whatever. Let's go" he said and lightly pushed her towards our train platform. He uncomfortably smiled at me and gestured me the same way.

During the whole way home, and up until after dinner time, mayank and me had some awkwardness lying in between us. We talked, but not as freely as we usually do.

By eleven in the night, we were in dia's room, joking around about random stuff.

"Hey nups you remember our prom night. I still can't believe mayank came with us" Dia said. Mayank wasn't from our college, yet he managed his way in our high school prom night. Actually that night, mayank was staying over dia's place and we had challenged him to sneak inside if he could since he wanted to come along. He surprised us by easily getting access into the party and till date we didn't know how that happened.

"Come'on, you have to tell us now, how the hell did you managed your way in?" I asked him.

"No!" he shook his head "That is top secret"

Dia threw a pillow on his face "Mayank tell us" she ordered. "Nups, ask him, he listens to you" she told me and I blushed a little. He listens to me' he does actually. He always does. But why does he listen only when I tell him.

"Mayank tell us" I said with a fake stern voice.

"Ok but you girls will kill me if I tell you" he laughed. And if I'm not wrong he secretly glanced, lovingly, at me or a spit of second.

"Speak up!" dia said.

"Chandni was my way in"

"WHAT?" dia and I shouted in echo. Chandni was the most popular girl of our college that year. She had a longer boyfriends list than ever thinkable.

"Yeah, but no more questions! Ok?" he warned us in between laughs.

"You dog,I can't believe you went out with her! I hate that girl" dia screamed, throwing another pillow at him.

I stayed rather silent; I didn't know what to say. Mayank was going out with chandni that night? Strange, how didn't I notice that? He was with me all the night; we even danced together on the slow dance. In fact that was the time I first started to feel more than just friendship towards him.

"I didn't go out with her you freak" he snapped "I knew her and I also knew she was the main organizer of the event so it was just a friendly setting" he clarified.

"How the hell did you know her?" I asked. I wasn't jealous, it was a genuine question.

"Girls like Chandni are known everywhere, not only in their college" he explained" One of my mate had a fling with her, that's how I knew her" he further added.

"I swear, I don't recall you being with her during the party at any time" dia said and I wondered the same thing. "You were with nupur all the time" she pointed out..

Mayank slightly looked towards me and vaguely smiled. I don't know why I felt millions of butterflies rushing inside my stomach. I gazed away and continued to pretend as if everything was normal. But really, nothing was normal. Mayank wasn't his normal self and I still didn't know what he was about to tell me at the station.

"Ok, I'm bored let's play truth and dare" dia suggested out of the blue. She was always a very random person every now and then but I have to admit, this time her randomness was pretty advantageous for me since she started a new topic of conversation and it forced mayank to divert his attention that was on me.

"Ok" mayank mumbled and I also nodded.

"Cool, I start. So nupur truth or dare" she asked me.

I lay my back comfortably on the head of the bed and thought cautiously. "Truth" I chose.

Dia smirked mischievously. "What should we ask her?" she questioned mayank. He shrugged, having no idea. "Ok since its valentine day then I'll ask something according to it" she said. I hated her question already although she hadn't asked it yet. Me and valentine's day have never been a fascinating story.

Just then mayank interest in the game seemed to grow "I have a question" he said. Dia let him ask me the 'truth-. He looked at me with concentration "Has anyone ever wished you on Valentine's day?" My heart skipped. Why was he asking me this?

I startled because of his intense stares. "Not really" I murmured. Dia looked at me and then at mayank, just the way she did at the station since once again tension raised between ma and him. It looked like he asked me this question for a particular reason. Oh god, was that text for me? Argh! What if he is only teasing me about it! I was confused big time.

"What do you mean not really? You never told me anything!" she attacked me curiously.

I smiled at her "It was nothing, someone wrongly sent me a valentine wishing" I managed to tell her. I had no courage to look towards mayank. This was the first time I ever mentioned this in front of him. I could sense mayank intensely staring at me and it was making me nervous as hell. At that point, Dia celled buzzed and she quickly went out of the room answering her phone: it was Rv's call. I swallowed hard, fainting a smile at mayank. Great, I was left alone with him. Awkward. Awkward .Awkward. "So" I said, attempting to break the silly silence that had filled the room.

Mayank shook his head and breathed defeated, as if he had lied for a long time but had no more energy to do so. He looked right into my eyes and I became trembling of uneasiness at the atmosphere. "It was meant for you" he then whispered. I didn't react. It was meant for me? What? Why? When? What is he talking about? I couldn't understand anything. My brows furrowed in confusion by a natural instinct.

"Nupur" he said and I came back to reality. I slowly got off the bed and stood up.

"Wait" he rushed to my side and stopped me from going outside. I composed myself stronger and looked up at him. Bad idea it was! He was looking at me too much intensely, too much passionately. "Nupur, I have fallen in love with you the night of the prom" he confessed. The night of the prom? It was more than two years ago. It was the time I fell for mayank too. How is that possible? I thought I was dreaming about it all. But I wasn't, I realized I wasn't a dream as I felt mayank's warms hand brushing my forearms. The room temperature seemed to increase to its maximum degree and I could feel myself melting on the spot "I don't know if you feel the same way about me but ever since our dance that night, I could not take you out of my mind. And I still cant.". His tone was soft, loving and especially sincere. Single tears formed in both of my eyes, as I understood I was eventually being loved back by the person I loved for so long. "I know I've never showed it before but trust me all I do is to think about you and only you, I'm madly in love with you nupur" he simply added. I shyly smiled ultimately. How could I not smile? He was confessing his love to me. This was what I always wanted him to do.

I nodded a little and blushed before saying "I thought you would never feel this way about me". The tears that were lingering in my eyes slowly slid down my face.

He cupped my faces, wiping my few tears with his thump "So does that me you.." he was scared. He didn't want to complete his sentence in case I didn't feel the same way.

I blushed again "Yes" I nodded shyly "I feel the same way about you, I've always have mayank"

In next to no time, he wrapped me tightly in his arms and I finally got to know how it feels to be in his arms, hugged so passionately. My arms went round his waist automatically and I could sense shiver running through my spine because of the new sensation.

"I love you" he confessed another time "And the text, two years ago, wasn't wrongly sent to you. It was meant for you" he murmured in my ears.

I slowly broke off the hug and gazed up in his eyes "I love you too" and this confession of mine was enough for him to take me in his arms, tighter than the first time.

"Happy Valentine's Day honey" he whispered to me.

I jerked out of his embrace and narrowed my glittering eyes. "Don't honey me" I warned him playfully. He chuckled, understanding I was messing around with him. He was looking way too cute and irresistible. I grabbed his face and planted a big fat kiss on his cheek "Happy Valentine's Day to you too" I softly said against his cheek.
