Fame Gurukul, one of India's most popular reality shows, continues its search for the Fame 'jodi', keeping the audiences on the edge of their seats. This week's result has brought the competition down to the top six contestants. The phenomenal response and participation of the audiences can be gauged by the number of votes polled in this week, which were more than 34 lakh votes.
The now evidently loyal viewers have religiously started voting for their favourite contestant Qazi Touqeer. The contestants have unanimously brought back Sandeep Batra, their favourite for this week. Last week's top student, Arijit was once again in the spotlight for his decision to not vote for Monica Gadgil.
Last week, Arijit voted twice for Monica, eliminating his friend Shamit from the race. On being asked why he took this stance, he explains that he was confident of everyone voting for Shamit and he thought Monica deserved a fair chance too. However, this week he continues to shock the audience by changing his choice for the week to Sandeep, thus eliminating Monica Gadgil from Fame Gurukul. Despite her outstanding performance this week, Monica had to walk out after being in the Gurukul for just three weeks. Monica admitted to having developed a special bond with Arijit over a short span of time.
Meanwhile, the faculty and jury were very pleased with the contestants' decision, as they believe that Sandeep is good competition for all the contestants at the Gurukul. Ila Arun, along with faculty member Prashant Samadhar, continued a war of words with Javed Akhtar, arguing that he was encouraging politics in the Gurukul where talent needs to be the biggest consideration.
Now the pressure on the contestants has doubled, anticipation and expectations have increased and the unexpected turn of events continues to surprise and astonish the nation as the hunt for the Fame 'jodi' inches towards its grand finale. This week's theme for the Gala is 'The Retro Age', promising some exciting and fun-filled performances by the six talented contestants, who will be judged by Bollywood actress Sarika. So tune in to find out who will be in the line of fire and the target of the jury this week on Fridays at 8 pm, on Sony Entertainment Television.
