I have written on Arpita critically before, but I feel within myself a sudden surge of sympathy for this girl.
To be sure, Arpita has made serious mistakes. For instance, it was inexcusable on her part to vote out Arijit. True, the foolish Arijit, too, had gravely erred in ousting Shamit, but why should Arpita - this pretty and intelligent girl - why should she have followed Arijit?
Let there be no mistake about it: Arpita is NOT a bad singer or performer. She is good and in fact has great potentiality within her to admirably succeed in in the world of film music.
Then, what's wrong with her? Mind you, Arpita is not very strong or aggressive within. See how she cries at the drop of a hat. And see how Roop was able to floor her in the boxing match! It shows Arpita is very VULNERABLE, and also insecure.
Maybe, it is because of her insecurity that she has been desperate to win the competition. There is nothing wrong in being ambititious and competitive. Roop too wants to win. But Arpita has been DESPERATE.
Her desperation has had two consequences: On one side, she became manipulative, and, on the other, she did not concentrate enough on her art, on her singing. To IMPRESS others became her chief concern, not singing or performing. In consequence, she often failed to give her best.
Arpita needs to learn something from Gita - the lesson or theory of disinterested action. We human beings should try to perform well and leave the rest to God. Desperation to achieve can undermine one's competence and performance.
I love you Arpita. You have something to learn from Qazi and Roop. You are equally good and I am sure you can emulate them, even excel in the game.
I invite ye all to comment on this write-up!!
