These type of women had undergone throu' such disguisting rules and regulations,they didn't had their share of freedom ever. So they had 'kuntha' (i don't knw english meaning,try to understand) in their innerself. They didn't have their share of happiness in married life. So obviously,they can't be happy,that their daughter in law had happiness,freedom. They get sadistic pleasure in such things,r u getting my point! @bold: If it is about their daughters their MIL decides. But this tradition is very much old fashioned. I guess that Manjeet didn't like Veera from the time she came so she wants to torture her as long as she is staying in that house.
