Ranvi the rockstar? Why?!

I posted this in the VeeBa thread...but I thought I'd post it here too:


Wasn't Ranvi's dream the agricultural school? and he did absolutely shit all for it...everyone made such a ruckus about Veera abandoning her pops dream by going off to England for school, but nobody says anything about Ranvi's lame ass attempts at becoming a rock star, which, mind you came out of left effin field!!!

How is a rustic sufi singer going to become all rock'n'roll??

It's a joke amongst Punjabi peeps that almost everyone and their momma has a demo tape out cuz everyone in Punjab can sing...first they make it big in Punjab then they become hits in the Uk/US/Canada and only then does Mumbai/Bollywood come knocking...just ask Yo Yo Honey Singh!! LOL

Why are the cv's trying to push his whole struggle to become a big singer in Mumbai?...it's not the most natural transition for a Punjabi Jatt farmer...it's nonsensical...he doesn't have a Punjabi hit song how the heck is he going to make it big in Bollywood with a Hindi song...why would they take him serious...why does he have to struggle..the SS fam jam seems to have enough money and his momma's the sarpanch can't she pay a bit to get his first record off the ground in Punjab? He can become a proper Punjabi sufi singer or even folk singer and make a killing...

he was supposed to be a sufi singer post-leap but now he's becoming a rockstar and maybe tomorrow he would be singing raps with yo yo sing 👏

Nothing in this track makes sense. It doesn't even make sense for Ranvi to become a pop star, it goes against his very persona. I honestly don't think the CVs know their own characters anymore. Pre leap Ranvi used to be very creative and would dabble in pottery. They could have shown Ranvi become a successful artist or something. That would have been more realistic. The guy can't even grip a guitar correctly, and they want viewers to believe he's capable of becoming apop star! Lol who are they kidding?

Bloody hell, this ranvi being a rock star is so irritating, just having to watch him in fast forward while getting to baldev annoys me.

Sunny ... I just so 200% agree with you on whatever you said it out in second & third para.

Not just Yo Yo Honey Singh but other hits Punjabi singer who has made entry to Bollywood be it RDB, Jazzy B, Jassi Sidhu, Sukhshinder Shinda, Gippy Grewal & so many more - All have first started off their music in Punjab & made it hit in their Punjab Di Dharti. Then they made their music go international & make their album hits in UK/US/Canada ... Then if their music are blockbuster & liked by Bollywood industry after that they settle their music in Bollywood. It's so not easy for any Punjabi folk singer to get into Bollywood straight away without having even one proper album of his/her own.

If you look at all Punjabi channels - Be it PTC Punjabi , ETC Punjabi. MH One & so on ... Each & every person of Punjab gets up & record their album - Shows that every person in Punjab can sing ... I'm not a fan of Typical Punjabi folks or Jatt type songs but I see in TV that how Punjab people just crops up & make their album with all Jatt type songs and make their song a superhit in Punjab ... After that they get a chance to work with the big singers in Punjabi singing industry.

But in this show - Something else is being shown !!
