Mahabharat and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein both have awesome ensembles. They both are good contenders, in my opinion.
See, an ensemble does not imply just having a horde of characters played by good actors. It also means using their potential well, and developing their tracks along with that of the main leads, thereby enriching the story. To me, the mark of any good show is how they utilize and balance the entire bunch of actors/characters to enhance the dramatic potential.
I am sorry, but Veera does not have an ensemble in the right sense of the term. It solely banks on its two lead couples. All the other characters are merely props. For eg, Kapil as Nihaal was introduced after the Poland track and is merely being used as a filler nowadays. His potential is being wasted. No progress on his and Ratan's story. They should at least show them interacting more.
Pre-leap, however, all the actors/characters had a chance to show their prowess- be it Kartaar and his wife, Chaiji, Ratan, or WantSuri.
YHM will and should win, I think. All the actors who play the good, bad or grey characters, are equally impressive. Second choice is Mahabharat, because of its awesome and out-of-the-world actors. I don't watch DABH and BV, but from what I have seen of them, they too utilize the ENTIRE cast well.
