Digangana Suryavanshi is elated to have bagged the role of grown up Veera IN Yash Patnaik's Veera aired on Star Plus. The actress, who looks totally different from what she looked in Qubool Hai!! talks about her experience and the brother-sister bonding on the show.
You look so different now. What has been the response to your new avatar in Veera? It's very positive, people are liking me and the way I look in the show. It's so different from my real life looks and it's highly appreciated. I like the look as it defines my character and maintains it individuality.
Is this your makeover? Yes, I love my get up, it makes me feel like "Veera" and not Digangana. It's different from what my real personality is.
How is the mood on the sets of Veera? It's so much fun! I have very caring people around me. We are like one big family, the production is really very caring too. The mood on sets is really ncie and it makes me comfortable and encourages me to work more. Producer Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik are fantastic producers. They have worked hard on every character and the complete look of the show.
How was the Delhi shoot schedule? It was just wonderful. I had so much fun, I've been to Delhi a lot of times but couldn't really go around and have fun but this time I really went to different places, ate at all the awesome places and had a blast.
How do you feel playing the title role? It's a huge responsibility and the show is on my shoulders now. I'm trying very hard to be responsible and do justice to the role. I'm working really hard and putting in my 100%.
How it is bonding with Shivin Narang? It's amazing, he's like the brother I never had. I love spending time with him and we have gelled really well. It's so lovely how we are getting along just like siblings. We have become good buddies.
What are your interests other than acting? I love to sing and write.
The show has a Punjabi backdrop. How do you manage to speak the accent and particular Hindi dialouges especially when your English is impeccable? I have loved languages since I was quite young. I love learning and speaking languages the way they are. That's the reason I speak differently. I'm putting in efforts and speaking Hindi just like the Delhi people and I'm really trying to put in all the reality to my character.
You are the only daughter and are pampered so how do you feel having an on-screen brother like Ranvijay? It's like a dream come true, I've always wanted a brother or sister and it was an empty void in my life. I'm happy that I'm living my dream and it's extremely close to my heart.
Singer, actress writer which one of your quality do you love the most and why? And in the future what do you want to pursue? I'm good at all the three things and they're all close to my heart. It's like the relationship between body, heart and soul. I'd like to pursue and balance all three.
What has been your parents role in your career and life? They have been extremely supportive and encouraging towards me. They started encouraging me in the field of media as they realized I was a talented kid. They've had no apprehensions and entirely support me at whatever I am doing. They are the reason I'm grounded today and have my limitations and innocence intact.
Are you reminded of filmi brother and sisters while playing the role? No not really, there's nothing filmy about the relationship that we portray. It's a very sweet and realistic relationship and the love between siblings is without any filmy tadka added to it.
