The show started off pretty decently but has slid downhill at an accelerating pace. The male lead, Ranaji, seems to have not an iota of common sense let alone the elan and sharpness required to rule a kingdom. He comes across as a dummy king, used as a puppet, first by his mother then by his step grandmother. The man has not learned, you do not nurture a snake close to your bosom, it will strike again and again. Once bitten, twice shy, but he has been bitten a couple of times yet allows Badi Ma to dictate his actions. Marrying Rageshwari was nonsensical, treating Gayatri badly was appalling. This latest in his string of trespasss against his wife, the rightful queen is despicable. He appears a mere puppet at the hands of Badi Ma and now Rageshwari.
So, in an effort to infuse him with some much needed spirit and chanakya's raj neethi tactics, I am indulging in a far fetched flight of fancy. What if Rana has turned puppeteer from puppet? When Rana walked in the squelchy mud near the river bank, did the dirt have some magical power and rid him of his intoxicated hosh? Does he pretend to be in the clutches of the vashikaran mantra to catch Rageshwari red-handed? Was him making Gayatri drink that dirty mud an effort to rid the poison from her body? Did he do that to surreptitiously make sure she took that antidote while making it seem he was still enraptured by the vicious Rageshwari?
I told you this is just a flight of fancy and if I did not kid myself into believing this reason behind Rana's behavior, I could not have tolerated watching Gayatri being belittled and disrespected all over again. The epi was pukeworthy. And as someone posted, I do fondly hope that Gayatri lands Rana several kicks in his shin. Sorry if I have offended anyone.
