such a disappointment!

but the show had nothing new to offer, it was just the same love story with vamps and her plots to create discord among the couple in love, who just happened to be raja and his wife.

at times i even forgot that Ranaji was a raja, coz it was only in words. he is never shown interacting with people. re-entry of ex-wife who turned out to be an actor wearing mask (no dramatic surprise even there, i wonder if anyone expected her to be sulakshana!!), a man who was shown intensely in love with hs dead wife falling for his present wife with superfast speed with now groundwork for it being laid! now i hear he who loves his present wife is about to get married again!!!( i have long since stopped watching the show, at times doesn't even read WU).

the era the show is supposed to depict had so much drama to offer and the makers can't take the trouble to create something original. i remember Buniyad, a hindi soap that held the veiwers captive which had in it a love story, a family drama and made the veiwers step out to feel the thrills and tension of the political scenerio of the time it depicted.

just the other day i happened to read the history book presenting the national movement of the 1942, the Quit india movement and how our leaders were put in jail to suppress the movement. where is that spirit which was the most dominant sentiment of the time? where is the love for the swadesh? the king speaks English, and the manners at his dinner table is more English than Indian. wasn't there a hint of derision in gayatri's inability to understand the language?

i am disappointed. when the show could have been so much more, it turned out to be nothing special just the usual stuff presented in what the makers CLAIM to be is happening in 1942.(ladkans and such open blouses in 1942. SERIOUSLY!!)
