Raageshwari!

Raageshwari was not supposed to be faking it. She was supposed to be a wounded tigress. She has lost her brother and BRM had planted the idea into her head that she should avenge his death by marrying RNJ and destroying the happiness or RNJ-G.

Yesterday, all I could think of was how fake it all was! I should not have felt that way! I should have been able to feel for Raageshwari, because she was as much a victim there. She had lost the person dearest to her and was thirsting for revenge. Unlike BRM, hers was no coldblooded drama.

However, I just could not connect to Raageshwari. This was a huge scene for a character/actor to score. It should have been her day y'day! Often times, even negative characters manage to gain the empathy of the audience because of the power and impact of the performances.

Yesterday was very disappointing because the show suddenly looked like one of those very ordinary shows on desitv, complete with shrieking/ smirking vamps and helpless leads. The scripting, the acting, the editing, it was all text book desitv.

ETR2 stood apart because of its class. Yesterday, I found that class gone, completely gone!

I am not sure about TRPs. The top TRP earners are all dramas full of characters that shriek. So maybe this track will earn them TRPs. Maybe Raageshwari will undo the damage that her brother did.

However, I really wonder if ETR2 will ever be the same again!

Berts, since I'm watching Maangchi's eggplant Gaji namul, i can only guess what could be going on.

IMAO- this looks like fake Sulu's track where Jayna made the masked Jhumki too real and failed to show the underlying "fakeness", that the CVs cooked up.

Here, Rags, i guess had the heats for RNJ. I'm assuming from her ketchup eating scene( which i didn't watch). Now her feelings had turned to revenge and shez trying to make him suffer, only if someone displays a range of emotions, grief,revenge,passion,hate and glee as shez getting closer to her goal & drawing blood, this track will look different ,otherwise it'll be like any other track on any other show with shrieking vamps and cornered leads.


P.S- Hope there's no harm in mentioning Maangchi here.shez a cute woman who cooks with her heart & gives clear instructions.I love her.

^^ Sim...Jayna made it all too real...and this girl is making it all too fake...that is the problem...there has been a role reversal..!

But frankly, Jayna proved to be a decent actress with that track...this one was a disappointment at least y'day..! I really don't think any such range exists for it to be put on display..!

Her grief was so fake...that was her brother's corpse...and her crying and mourning looked like an act...!

And then, there were cus of BRM enjoying her act...so it kind of made it seem even more like an act..!

Checked it out online...had to keep skipping because it was quite cringe worthy..!

Like I told Lady N, a show that once oozed class has turned into a B-grade drama !

you know I had half a mind to contribute to the neighborhood y'day...keep the TV on and walk away from the room sort of...I can't bear to watch dummies either...lol!

Frankly speaking bertie, anjum was not bad in her previous show, i found her good compared to others in that show.But, here she has been disappointing so far.Yesterday's whole episode was dedicated to her, but, i couldn't feel any grief , i mean the girl who lost her beloved brother didn't even show the grief properly, there were no expressions on her face.It just looked so fake.This made me feel she is as bad as avdy.

And regarding sula, even she was not a good actress, she never gave appropriate expressions be it as real sula or fake one.And most importantly i hated her big nose, it was kind of a distraction for me.but, i have to agree, she was far better than these people, atleast she was not a psycho😕

I don't know why but i am feeling it's going to shut down post ipl.I don't think there will be any trp raise for this show .

^^Have seen bits and pieces of the earlier show...she did seem decent there..!

Yesterday, she was quite bad...her emotions appeared very fake and superficial...if Abhiram went overboard, Anjum is coming across as lacking in depth and intensity..!

Jayna was bad in the FBs...but in the fake Sula track, there were a few scenes where she did quite a decent job...the lake scene was quite well done in fact..! Since we had no clue if she was real or fake then, she came across quite convincingly as a wife who has lost her memory and is trying to reach out to her husband..!

Don't want to take other examples but in the new mytho, the antagonist is doing a very good job and winning a lot of appreciation from the audience...!

Ultimately, good or bad character, it is up to the actor to convince an audience and make them see his/ her pov...you may not agree with the pov but at least you can feel for the character..!

Berts, I've watched many shows just for the antagonists.

ETR seems to be failing repeatedly to create a villain I can root for.

BRM,Sulu,Rags,Avd every one fall flat and there is nothing much the leads can do to prop up the tracks,when the villains hog the screen space.

IMO, they should stop trying to create larger than life villains & concentrate on Swarna's story & bring out the conflicts from there.

Even BRM has been turned into a caricature when she could have been a real classy and strong villain. Some of the expressions that Surekha Sikri is made to give make me cringe really..!

There is an inherent conflict in the story itself with regard to succession. They could have simply played with that instead of bringing in one new stooge after the other of BRM. Why, is she so weak that she needs these puppets to play games for her? She has her son, daughter-in-law and grandson besides..At least, the fake Sula track made sense since RNJ had been obsessed with his first wife. This Avdesh- Raageshwari track makes no sense.

You don't need artificially propped up villains to generate conflict. Not when the conflict is inherent to the plot. This whole Sartaj-Avdesh- Raageshwari drama makes no sense to me!

Also, the other neighborhood show that is 1000+ epis old is proof that you don't even need a strong antagonist to run a show successfully...not when there are other plot points to drive it!

ETR2 had it all...and then they went and wrecked it!
