I've been quite busy with my studies for the past 2 months & I haven't watched since BRM's exit. Can anyone briefly tell me what's going on now? I'm clueless.

Ranaji befriends a strange character called Avdesh who claims amerkot belonged to his ansestors. Initially Avdesh fights for amerkot but losses being distracted by gayatri. Gayatris beauty catches on to Avdesh like an obsession and he decideds he wants her as his at any cost.
He befriends Rana with a sob story of not having a family or anyone to care for. Rana brings him into the raj mehel but doesn't realise his intentions.
Avdesh talks Rana into a game of dice where Rana looses amerkot to Avdesh. At that time Avdesh Tries to make an advanced on gayatri but Rana beats him up and throws him out of the mehel.

Later on Avdesh finds out that raj mata is hiding some raaz with a man named Sartaaj and uses it it to get back into the mehel.
Along with him comes his even stranger sister rageshwari.
We find out that raj mata looses her child at birth and replaces it with Rana who is the son of Sartaaj and a prostitute. That is the raaz raj mata has been hiding for years and paying for Sartaaj to keep his mouth shut.
Badi Rana re enters at this time as if she is on on her death bed and gayatri pleads with Rana to let her stay finally he agrees.

On the other hand rageshwari accuses Sartaaj of rape at the New Years party and Rana sentences him to death. But it's all a plan against Rana by rageshwari and badi Ma. False accusation.

Gayatri makes out that there is more to Sartaaj than meets the eye and ends up getting the truth from raj mata and decides that she can't let her husband kill his own father (paap/sin).
She frees Sartaaj against the verdict of death which angers Rana. When Rana goes after Sartaaj to re capture him Sartaaj cleverly puts avdeshs dead body (killed by brm) in the forest in a way that it looks like it is him and Rana shoots. Rana now thinks he has killed Avdesh by mistake returns to the palace with Avdeshs body.
Rageshwari goes mad at Rana and badima who is responsible for the whole scheme tells rageshwari that the way to make Rana pay is to make his life a living hell and suggests sindhoor. 😊 😆
