About the whole Ranas feelings on Avdesh i think Indravarden at heart is really noble and accepting of differences like a king should be he probably doesn't want to begrudge someone merely because they are different and in my opinion that's how someone of his stature should behave also he's seen a 'lonely' side of Avdesh too so maybe that's why his views are different.
