We know that Gayatri is not dead. That it is all an act, a front to bring Badi Rani's truth but Dear Lord, those few seconds when Swarna Lekha cries her heart out to Ranaji, those few seconds when Ranaji refuses to believe that his Gayatri is no longer alive, those few seconds when Gayatri showcases herself as a lifeless corpse has to be one of the most gut-wrenching sequences in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani and undoubtedly one of the top 5 scenes this week.

Had there been no spoiler or on location videos of the scene; which is something that kills the thrill of scenes such as this, what the makers attempted to do here is to show the lead protagonist of the show dead and it's aftermaths. If the truth was withheld from the viewers, if the suspense was intact this could be tagged as quite a risky move. Imagine the uproar?

Anyways the reason the scene stood out is because of the innumerable emotions it evokes. Like I said we know all this is a charade yet the idea of evil winning over good is repulsive. Swarna's heart wrenching wails that her only friend, her sister had left her alone definitely gets at you. And what tops the list is Ranaji and the rage of emotions he goes through. Ranaji apologizing to Gayatri hoping that it would wake her up, the way he goes to the others and asks them to ask Gayatri to wake up etc undoubtedly leaves a mark. The denial, the pain Ranaji - a man whose broken heart was just mended days ago by the very woman who lay lifeless before him, the way he recollects his moments with Gayatri and screams out her name while holding her close to him leaves you emotional.

To sum it up the performances and the emotions attached to the scene is what makes it one of the best scenes this week. Kudos to Priya Tandon, Siddhant Karnick and Drashti Dhami for such brilliant performances. I know you all are wondering what Drashti did except for laying still. Well she was laying still alright but she was the catalyst that out the whole scene into motion. The lifeless body of Gayatri is what triggered Ranaji and Swarna Lekha so it's kudos to all three.
