Tv actress Drashti Dhami shares her love for Jaipur's "pyaaz ki kachori" life after marriage & why she won't participate in Bigg Boss
'Can't stay away from close ones for long'
Drashti Dhami , a popular face on television , who was also seen shaking a leg in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa & briefly hosting it later , is not keen to participate in the now on air Bigg Boss . In Jaipur to inaugurate the third outlet of Shopper's Stop , on Thursday , Drashti said that reality shows were good but she did not want to be in Bigg Boss house . " I can't stay away from my loved ones for long . No matter how busy my schedule is , I still have to meet my mom , friends and all close ones"
BOLLYWOOD PLANS
While a lot of TV actors look to grab a chance for a dream debut in films , Drashti is happy doing just television . " I never dreamt to b e an actor in the first place . I casually auditioned for Dil Mill Gaye(her debut show), and got the role , I then did Geet followed by Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon . It is because of TV that I got to do a variety of roles and even my character in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is very different . I am content with TV . It has given me recognition and popularity . If a good Bollywood offer comes my way , it is fine . But if it doesn't I am fine with that too, " she added
ON LIFE POST MARRIAGE
Drashti tied the knot with Mumbai-based businessman Neeraj Khemka in February this year.Talking about how life has changed after getting married , the actress replied , "The only thing which is different is that I sleep next to my husband and not my mom." She added , "Marriage has been a smooth transition for me . I am really happy to have signed Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani , which I believe is a perfect comeback for me post Madhubala " Drashti took an 11 month break from work post Madhubala which went off air in August 2014 .
A COMPLIMENT FROM KIRRON KHER
For someone who gained her ground in the industry despite being an outsider , a compliment coming from a veteran a compliment coming from a veteran is something Drashti hadn't imagined ." I still remembered the day when Kirron Kher ji appreciated my work in Madhubala . She used to religiously watch the show and when I met her , she said ," Drashti , when you cry , I cry,' That was a big compliment for a newbie like me . I will always cherish that moment , "she shared
DREAM ROLE
On her dream role , Drashti said, " I would really like to do a a role similar to what Priyanka Chopra did in Fashion and Kangana Ranaut in Queen"
SHOOTING IN BIKANER
Drashti shot for her show Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani in Bikaner . Sharing her experience , she sad ," It was fun to see palaces on the first day of my shooting . The weather was really hot so we just wanted to finish our shooting and come back to the hotel . But it was overall a nice experience."
PYAZ KI KACHORI FOR FAMILY
Drashti wanted to shop in Jaipur but this time it was busy schedule that didn't allow her to pamper herself with retain therapy . Though she did manage to take some time out and buy Jaipur's famous Pyaz ki kachori for her husband and family ." My mother in law had told me about the delicious Pyaz Ki Kachori that you get in Jaipur . So I made sure that I buy some for my family , " she said
