Okay, so this is not a defense of the bigamy track! The minute Sula enters, I am going to follow the show only via the forum and maybe come back once it ends! Because end it will! In terms of sheer star power, Drashti Dhami is the biggest crowd puller this show has. So they are not going to give some random actor more screen space and the possibility to upstage the protagonist!
Anyway, much as I hate it, I can honestly understand why the hurry and why they are doing this! The hurry is because they needed RNJ to be in love with G and ready to consummate their marriage before the Sula entry. So they wrote the script in such a way that the dramatic turn of events sort of kick started RNJ's feelings or better still, woke them up from a state of dormancy and forced him to start acknowledging and accepting it!
I think they are pretty much doing the same with the show! They are playing their ace right up front or close it! Whether we like it or not, the potential for drama is huge with this track! It is a proven TRP track. Given this, they probably decided that they should play this upfront to gain a captive audience so that they can consolidate their position. With rural markets also coming into play, this track might again hold appeal. I think it is the elitist urban audience that is squeamish about this track. The TRP audiences, both urban and rural, love this kind of crappy drama as seen from the kind of shows that top the charts!
It is not just about RNJ's feelings. It is obvious that he is going to feel conflicted because somewhere he does owe allegiance to Sula's memories. But that is it! It is to her memories. In his present, he has moved on and committed heart and soul to G. She is his queen. Now, just because a former queen chooses to resurface, does the present queen just vacate the throne? More importantly, vacate the place she has found in his heart? But he is a kind and a fair man! And there is no way he is going to be able to throw Sula out either!
Maybe it might help him to gain some clarity vis a vis his own emotions. What he felt for Sula vs what he feels for G!
There are legal issues here besides and Kunwar Chacha and the Britishers are going to use it to their advantage.
If Sula is coming, then it is obvious that the black veiled woman has something to do with her. It could be her or an ally. Why has she delayed her arrival for so long? Am sure there will be an accompanying sob story but how true would that be? And even if she is genuine, why is there an attempt being made on G's life and an attempt to tarnish her image in RNJ's eyes using Sula's memory as an excuse? So the chances of her being negative are high. So also the chances of G finding out the truth about her and fighting to protect RNJ from her evil designs and those of her co-conspirators. I think something similar is playing on the channel's top TRP show. I don't watch the show but based on the two-three minutes lead time before ETR2 starts, I think this is the case.
So, there is going to a drama associated with her entry and then her exposure. The makers want to generate all the drama they can in their pursuit of TRPs. I really don't blame them given that almost all TRP toppers have bigamy tracks as part of their arsenal!
Sick it is! I shall abstain! But simply because I have enjoyed the show till now, I wish the makers well. Hope they get their TRPs. I will come back maybe after this track ends and pretend it never happened! If this track fails, the show may indeed fold up! In a sense, it appears a last ditch attempt!
