Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani 24 August 2015 Written Update

The epi begins with Gayatri anxiously pacing the courtyard, worried if Ranaji would reply to her letter. GovindSeth comes home. Gayatri runs to him & asks if he is performing her engagement today. GovindSeth recalls Rajmata's proposal to approve RaGa alliance and forgive all debt as dowry. He doesnt say anything so Gayatri tells him, even when you dont speak, your eyes do. And your eyes speak that you love me a lot & want my happiness only. Then do you really think I'll be happy in this marriage. GovindSeth says, yes I want to see you happy & doing all that it takes to bring you happiness. Today your marriage will definitely be fixed. He asks her to get ready. Gayatri is in tears thinking of her engagement.

In the evening, Gayatri & Damodar's engagement rituals are taking place. Nirmala asks her to give them a babyboy by next year. Gayatri is sad & looks at her father. GovindSeth looks at his watch that shows 2 min. to 6 pm. Nirmala taunts Gayatri & praises her badi bhabhi Ambuja. Ambuja replies its your bigheartedness that you accepted Gayatri else no one would have married this unlucky girl. Gayatri recalls her brother's harsh words and how she wanted to earn herself respect from her family. GovindSeth recalls his convo with Rajmata where she had told him that his answer can change his daughter's fate & make her Queen of Ameerkot. In reply, GovindSeth had told her to first prove her words of giving a dignified life to his daughter. He had asked her to come to his house before 6 pm today and ask Gayatri's hand for Ranaji then only he'd get her married to Ranaji else will fix her engagement with someone else. He anxiously looks at his watch and it shows 1 min to 6 pm. Gayatri's engagement rituals continue & right then Rajmata's arrival is announced that leaves everyone stunned.

Rajmata walks in imperiously. Everyone stands up to pay her respects. Damyanti is tensed & asks if they made any mistake which made Rajmata herself arrive there. Rajmata says, GovindSeth doesnt make any mistake even by any mistake. Yashoda asks the maids to bring in Shagun. Nirmala says, its a great honor for us that Rajmata herself has come to my Samadhi's place to grace the ceremony where my brother's engagement is taking place with Gayatri. Rajmata says, engagement was taking place. Nirmala is confused. Damodar stutters, some rituals are still left. Rajmata says only Bidaai (farewell) ritual is left. Mukund says, marriage hasnt happened yet. Rajmata says, am not talking about Bride but Damodar & his family as one who is part of royal family cannot be part of any other family. Damyanti is happy but still perplexed at Rajmata's words. Rajmata announces that she wants to make Gayatri her DIL. Everyone's jaw drops hearing this. Gayatri is flabbergasted. Rajmata asks her if she'd marry her son Indravadan & accept to become King's Queen. Gayatri is completely astonished & unable to speak. GovindSeth folds his hands & replies that it would be an honor for them to accept this proposal. Seths minus bhabhis are elated. Rajmata asks Damodar & his family to leave. Tears glisten in Damyanti's eyes. She says, all including me considered my daughter unlucky & cursed her fate but she is real gem.

Yashoda feeds sweets to Gayatri & admires her luck. She says, your life is going to change from hereon. May God give you strength to embark on new journey. Damyanti asks Gayatri to touch Rajmata's feet. She seeks her blessings. Rajmata puts her hand on Gayatri's head & says, fate plays biggest enemy when it doesnt favor you but when it smiles on you, all good things happen to you. She blesses her that may her luck always favor her. Gayatri isnt still able to believe that her dreams are getting realized. She thinks, not even in my dreams I imagined Ranaji to reply to my letter this way!


Rajmata gets up to leave. She stops in the doorway & looks at GovindSeth. He nods & goes to her. In a hushed tone, she says, I did what you asked me to do; now its your turn. GovindSeth agrees with folded hands. She asks him to organize a grand wedding and bear all the expenses. GovindSeth promises her that wedding will be never-seen-before splendiferous event. Rajmata reminds him that even when the onus is on him to perform a magnificent wedding but he has to make sure that Royalty's pride & dignity is always maintained higher. GovindSeth agrees. Rajmata then returns him the letter written by Gayatri to Ranaji. She says, am returning you your daughter's honor untarnished coz her honor now defines Royalty's honor too. GovindSeth nods. Rajmata leaves.

Tears of happiness well in Gayatri's eyes. Servent chacha says, your hope proved true! Gayatri tells her mother Ranaji replied to my letter & happily rushes inside. GovindSeth is very happy to see Gayatri happy.


Ranaji is in rage. He asks Rajmata why didnt she ask him before taking this decision. Rajmata says, I asked you about Princess Sharmila and saw the upshot too. So this time, for the sake of Ameerkot I did what I deemed right w/o consulting you. Ranaji says, am the King of Ameerkot & take all decisions. Rajmata says, all decisions by King may not be right. Ranaji says, its my life and you have no right to decide about my life. Rajmata says, a King's life doesnt belong to him but to the residents of his kingdom. You would have had the freedom to love & sacrifice your life in love, if you were just Indravadan not Rana IndravadanSinghDev. She asks him if she is talking to a King or a lover. Ranaji replies, I want to know if a mother is asking this or Rajmata of Ameerkot. Rajmata gets sad. Ranaji says, if a mother is asking this then I ask her to give her son, his right to live his life and if Rajmata is asking this then I would like to ask her why punish me for her mistakes. He accuses her that when he left Ameerkot, there was no debt on state but she took loan & rendered the state in such hefty debt. He looks sad & helplessly asks why doom me & my late wife's memories. Rajmata looks at her husband's portrait & says, mine and Bade Ranaji's marriage was also a loveless one. Politics decides relationships for Royals, not their heart. King cannot follow his heart. You're very fortunate that you got Sulakshana as your lifepartner. Sadly she is no more but you cannot mourn for your love forever & avoid fulfilling your responsibility to your kingdom under this excuse. Ranaji asks her to not insult his love by calling it an excuse. Rajmata says, Time is changing. Its very difficult to save the kingdom when ppl are fighting for freedom from British rule. We ought to make Ameerkot debtfree & wealthy state otherwise GovindSeth would file lawsuit against us in British Court & Britishers would throne your KuvarUncle instead of you. You very well know what would be plight of people of Ameerkot in that case... So now its your time to fulfill your duty. You will make even great King than your father if you can pass this test. Now you have to decide & choose between your heart or your kingdom. She leaves. Ranaji looks on.


Ranaji is burning a letter (seems to be Sulakhana's letter) and thinks I can never allow myself to be disloyal to you Sulakshana. Gayatri is looking at her reflection in mirror & thinks I'll become Queen of Ranaji. Ranaji says, Sulakshana was, is & will always be my Queen; no one else can be my queen.
