The epi. begins with Gayatri's Bhabhis trying to convince her mother to let Gayatri visit the palace. Gayatri is overhearing their convo. Damyanti (Gayatri's mother) says, Gayatri isnt going anywhere. Badi Bhabhi says, Gayatri deserves to be happy. She isnt married but she isnt alone; we're with her. Champakali says, I cant see Gayatri's pain. We wont let any harm take place to her. Badi Bhabhi says, Gayatri will be heartbroken. Champa tells Damyanti, you're so loving & caring. How can you go to palace leaving Gayatri alone at home. Damyanti sarcastically asks her if its she who churned the butter today. Champa doesnt understand the sarcasm & says, I didnt churn any butter today. Yeaterday's leftover butter is there. Damyanti says, then save that leftover butter; dont try to butter me up! I have decided that Gayatri wont go anywhere. Gayatri is disappointed hearing this. She mutters, Ranaji has invited me & I wont be able to go... How would he feel? She prays God to help her.

In palace, Rajmata is resting. Her lady-in-waiting Yashoda comes there & asks, you seem worried today. Whats the matter. Rajmata says, Ranaji refused to get married again. Yashoda exclaims that Ranaji refused to obey Rajmata's wish. Rajmata says, only people of Ameerkot are under my command not Ranaji's heart. Sulakshana (Ranaji's late wife) still rules his heart & mind. He doesnt want to meet anyone with marriage perspective. I pray to God to have love bloom in his heart again and have him ready to marry again.

Gayatri's father arrives home & Champakali calls out to him. Gayatri gets happy hearing this and thanks God. Champa requests her FIL GovindSeth that she wants to stay home than going to Palace as Gayatri will be alone at home if they all go to Palace & she wont be able to see Gayatri's pain. GovindSeth asks why Gayatri wont come? Badi Bhabhi says coz Damyanti isnt allowing her to go. How can she come then? GovindSeth says, Gayatri will go to Palace. We all will go with such great dignity that Royalty will also be shocked & then they'll realize who is like air & who is like straw. Both Bhabhis & Gayatri are elated. Gayatri thanks God. Her nephew & niece tease her if she is asking for a prince from God. Kids say, you'll meet King in palace. Gayatri smiles & says, yes. I will thank him as well. Kids ask why thank him. She covers it up as Ranaji is their king & is so kind so they ought to thank him. Her niece asks her to be decked well as she is going to meet the King. Gayatri blushes thinking of decking up for meeting Ranaji.

Gayatri helps her Bhabhis get ready & they order her to fetch them things like a maid. Damyanti comes there with a lovely saree & asks Gayatri to get ready. She chides her DILs that even Rajmata wouldnt be taking this much time in getting ready. Scene shifts to Rajmata getting ready & proudly looking at herself in mirror.

Ranaji's assistant Bhanu brings a suit & asks him if he'd like to wear it for the party. Ranaji is lost in Sulakshana's thoughts & reminisces happy moments when Sulakshana helped him put his blazer on. Bhanu understand and gives the suit to servant for ironing.

Gayatri is getting ready. She happily puts on all jewelry & smiles admiring her beautiful self in mirror!

The servant accidentally burns Ranaji's handkerchief while ironing it. (It's the hanky given by Sulakshana) He gets scared that if Bhanu comes to know about this, he'll punish him severely. He picks another hanky with matching color & irons it. It's the same hanky that Gayatri had embroidered with horse image & secretly put in the coat as gift to Ranaji!

GovindSeth's family is all ready & excited to go to Royal party. Gayatri asks her father to come as both cars can start together. GovindSeth announces we arent going by car. He says, my daughter will go to palace in "6 Ghodo wali baggi" (Chariot drawn by 6 horses). He looks at Gayatri indulgently & says, you like such chariot! Gayatri is elated & others are stunned. Her brothers try to reason with GovindSeth that acco. to law, only King can ride such grand chariot; not commoners. GovindSeth asks them to not worry as only Gayatri, her mom & he will go in Chariot and the Brothers & their wives can come in car. Gayatri is excited & leaves with her parents.

Bhanu helps Ranaji get ready. Ranaji takes hanky from him w/o looking at it & recallls Sulakshana romantically putting hanky in his coat pocket. He feels sad & puts the hanky in his pocket with horse image visible on front. Flashback scene shows Gayatri lovingly caressing the horse image that she had embroidered on hanky.

Gayatri & her parents arrive at palace in chariot with 6 horses. There are fireworks & welcome tunes start playing on Royal Band. She looks at the fireworks mesmerized! Hearing the band playing, KuvarUncle thinks some Royal guest has arrived. His assistant Sumer informs him GovindSeth has come in royal chariot with 6 horses. KuvarUncle asks him to call guard & tells his son Lakshraaj that in Ameerkot, only Royalty can ride chariot with 6 horses then how dare GovindSeth come in such royal chariot. Lakshraaj says, they might be belonging to royal family. KuvarUncle chides him for talking such stupid thing. He berates the guard for playing royal band when there was no royal guest. Guard says, seeing the royal chariot we mistook them for royal guests. KuvarUncle pulls him up for not recognizing Royalty properly and says, royal band must be played only to welcome Royals not shopkeepers.

Gayatri's Brothers & Bhabhis also arrive at palace. Guard stops GovindSeth & his family at entrance. GovindSeth chides him for stopping them & behaving rudely with them. He gives him the invitation card & proudly enters the palace with his family.


GovindSeth & family enter the royal hall where party is going on. The Brothers & Bhabhis are dazed at the opulence of palace. Gayatri is excited & looks at the grandeur of palace mesmerized. Her father tells her, this is the royal palace! Savor the view to your heart's content! She recapitulates her encounters with Ranaji & gets all dreamy. She mumbles, Will look at Ranaji to my heart's content but for that need to catch his glimpse! Her eyes search for Ranaji amongst the guests. Both Bhabhis follow her.

Munimji greets GovindSeth. The latter sarcastically praises the lavishness of party & recites a line of Mirza Ghalib's poetry about debt. Munimji gets the cue. GovindSeth advises him to not be extravagant & in repartee Munimji says that Royals will always remain above him despite being in debt. He assures GovindSeth that Rajmata will repay all his debts. GovindSeth says, you said & I heard but I want the same assurance from Rajmata too.


Gayatri is searching for Ranaji & her Bhabhis are following her. She turns back & her Bhabhis pretend to be looking at chandelier. They joke about Gayatri looking for her prince & think of catching her red-handed. Gayatri sees a man wearing same suit as Ranaji; she sees only his back not face and tries to touch his shoulder. The man turns & he isnt Ranaji but some royal guest. Gayatri gets embarrassed & leaves.

Ranaji comes before Sulakshana's portrait & sees the candle lit off. He lights it again & promises her that noone can take her place. Screen freezes on him promising his dead wife & his eyes filled with pain & sadness and Gayatri looking for Ranaji & her eyes filled with eagerness & excitement to catch a glimpse of him.


A British officer taunts Rajmata for throwing such lavish party & says you shouldnt be such extravagant when affected by drought. Gayatri gets back at him that in our country Guests are treated like Gods & we dont consider how much money is spent while serving the God. Rajmata feels proud at Gayatri's repartee to British officer. Ranaji is playing piano. All guests are mesmerized but Ranaji's face reflects pain & sadness so he must be thinking of Sulakshana. Gayatri looks at him hiding b/h a curtain. Ranaji sees her & she hides again.
