Ashish has a close-knit and loving family consisting of his parents; wife "Samita Bangargi; and his children. He has a son named Agasthya; twin daughters named Salara and Sammah; and his deceased sister's children Kanishk and Ananya.

He'd started his career as the first anchor of Disney Club Show in India. He has also been a successful model and was associated with several popular brands. Ashish was also the brand ambassador of Onida TV.

Along with being a successful model, Ashish also forayed himself in the world of acting. "Apne Jaise Types" on "Sony Entertainment Television" made by well-known Bollywood Director Vikram Bhatt and "Star Bestsellers" are some of his initial successful ventures on Television as an actor. Though it was "Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye"(2001), a show again on Sony Entertainment Television which triumphantly placed Ashish in the limelight; and also opened the gates of more opportunities for him.

His next step was films and the movie "Qayamat: City Under Threat" (2003) instantly brought Ashish in the right focus. Starring in a multitude of movies henceforth, Ashish's role as Boman in "Dhamaal"(2007) and "Double Dhammal"(2011) is still fondly remembered.

After remaining inactive for a period of about four years from the glamour industry on account of personal issues, Ashish Chowdhry returned to his first love acting again in late 2013. As his comeback vehicle, Ashish chose a television show "Ek Mutthi Aasmaan" produced by DJ's Creative Unit; and aired on Zee TV. He played the role of a stern and authoritative businessman called Raghav Singhania in the show. It was the role of a man who had returned to take revenge for the injustices meted out to his late father, but who finds true love on way to his aim. This role catapulted Ashish's fame to heights and earned him a strong fan following for the perfect portrayal of every emotion required by this role. Be it a rude Raghav, a stern businessman, an angry person, a dejected Raghav, or a deadly romantic person; Ashish portrayed each and every emotion to perfection. One look from his eyes, one word from his husky voice and his one lip-bite were enough to make an entire female population faint. Even though Ashish's stint in the show was of a mere seven (7) months period, but Ek Mutthi Aasmaan would always remain a landmark in Ashish's career.

In February of 2015, months after Ek Mutthi Aasmaan ended Ashish Chowdhry returned to television with Indian version of American stunt/dare based reality show- Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 6. A variety of daring stunts were performed by him on the show Along the way of his journey as Ashish made new friends, he also established a new record. Ashish Chowdhry became the first ever contestant in the series who never came into even a single elimination round. In April 12, 2015 episode Ashish was announced to be the winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi: Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns (Season 6).

With Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 8 Ashish is again back on television as a contestant in this prestigious dance reality show. This time he wants to win his fears of dancing and once again he is proving himself to be a focused, strong-willed and determined person; a winner always.

Apart from all other hats, one important hat donned by Ashish is his association with Masoom, an NGO running 30 night schools in Mumbai. He is the torch bearer of this organization with the commitment of extending a helping hand in eradication of illiteracy and poverty.

Personification of Love and Kindness; like the fulfillment of an unreal dream, Ashish Chowdhry is the Sunshine of millions of fans' life.
