Chapter 3
Her eyes stared intently at him through her delicate lashes. He was broad & fine & well built. A broad forehead , pointy nose & a squared jaw so perfect, as if every single detail was carved on his face with extra precision. His clothing was somewhat like hers ...as he too had worn a loose white shirt & black jeans. If made to stand together they would look like school going kids who were dressed in their uniforms.
M : Raghav , why weren't u at ur table ?
R : My apologies Sir ! Was helping my partner fetch her table ...(turning to look at kalpi) who SEEMED a bit lost.
His loud husky voice made many heartbeats skip , naaa...not kalpana's , but the girls of the remaining class. Kalpana's case - her heart was pumping more blood than usual due to the anger that was slowly forming within.
Firstly he corrects me... But then he was right ,she self-thought. Then he arranges the table this well ...what's the prob in that , her subconscious mind questioned. And now he calls me lost ... Errr kalpi , u were lost !! Grrr...why was her subconscious mind continuously lawyering this brat against her. She was pulled out of the court session that was going on in her mind when Mr Mathur's voice fell on her ears
M : Ofcourse... ur partner ! (Looks at kalpi & then back to Raghav) Ms Jadhav has always been a problem creator ... Hope she succeeds in learning something from a gold-medalist like u Raghav !!
Raghav merely smiled at that. Then giving instructions to take the readings Mr Mathur left. Once he had left , Raghav who had his back facing Kalpana so long turned. He found his partner all red , fuming in anger as she looked at Mr Mathur who was now busy on some other table. Then hurling the same look at Raghav & finally the curcuit she grumbled
K : I am dismantling this circuit, i-shall-recreate-it-again & prove myself to that Mathur ! (My sister has always been a namoona with high self-respect 😆)
She then forwarded her hands abruptly to destroy the arrangement & redo it , but was met by resistance. The new guy had held both her wrists in a tight clasp thus preventing her from doing what she aimed to.
R : You cannot do this ! I have set it all with great efforts ..
This newbie ?? How dare he ? It was the second time he was speaking against her ! That was something which nobody had ever dared to do with Kalpana Jadhav ...the entire college was under her wrath , even the guys of her chawl were scared of her including her elder brother. & this man !!😡😡All right-wrong moral thoughts were out of the window for an anger-blinded Kalpana as she pushed his hands away
K : Stop me if you can !!
He held her wrists again , this time tighter.
R : You are not doing anything to this setup.
K : (smirkingly as she tried to get her wrists out of his grip) I-am !!
R : No you are not !
He had countered with equal fervor as he refused to let go off her hands , eyes boring deep in the arrogant girl in front of him. But Kalpana wasn't giving her resistance. Finally frustrated at her stupidity
R : For god's sake stop being foolish partner ! (jiju yet calls my sister partner sometimes ...actually wohi toh reason tha coz of which we forced her to narrate her story 😳)
But the partner didn't stop. Instead , she somehow dug her nails in his skin causing him to wince thus loosening his hold.
R : (in an involuntary yelp as he looked at the bruises on his hand) Bloody ...
Saying so he grabbed her hands again , a bit roughly this time at the right moment . Kalpana glared at him & barked on his face with her struggles yet on
K : & that's why I hate guys !! Now leave me...will youuu...
CRASHHH !!!!! Supposedely Kalpana's ultimate jerk was too strong as it knocked the circuit arrangement off the table & had it crashing on the floor. This crash had managed to capture every single student's attention, who first stared at the broken circuit & then Ragna & then their hands twined with each other. Well their hands were not exactly twined ...but who can think straight when the hottest guy of class & not-so desirable yet beautiful girl were standing in that position ?
Poor ragna were just trying to figure out as to why people were staring at them when a roar echoed throughout the laboratory
"Both of you... In my cabin , now !!"
They gulped. Then looking at an angry Mr Mathur who was staring at the damaged apparatus on the ground... Then each other & ...then the not-so-zyaada distance between their respective bodies. Er...when did they get this close ?
Then as if a sudden jolt of current had passed through them they jumped apart , a bit embarrassed as they looked around.
What next ??
