Part-4
Raghav and Kalpi were standing at the entrance of Chawl. Softly Raghav slided his hands from her waist and clasped her palm tightly. Sammy and Maya were lil nervous. They didn't expect Gauri to be here. They thought her reaction will come in phase -2 i.e. when they reach Singhania Mansion.
To say Pakhi was shocked will be an understatement. She felt she got 440 watt shock from Raghav and Kalpi seperately. Never in her wildest dreams or scariest nightmares she thought Kalpi and Raghav will get married. She was unable to cry. It seemed as though her whole body got paralysed. She was looking at them without blinking her eyes even once.
Neetu and Sahil were horrified looking at Raghav and Kalpi as a couple. They were about to hit a jackpot and it felt as though all the numbers of lottery ticket matched except the last one. Already they were going under crisis though it wasn't that problematic as situation was still under control but they were counting on Raghav's wealth to pass their future leisurely. They felt as if somebody took away the ground beneath them. The fall was painful since it carried the shattered pieces of their willfull dreams, it marked the beginning of their ending. They were equally speechless like Pakhi to react to the scene which unfolded before them.
Raghav felt peaceful looking at their state. He didn't show it on his face but his heart felt that the wounds given to it are finally healing. He smiled inwardly. He noted to himself "This is just the beginning.Get ready to pay more."
Pakya and Vitthal were way too happy to see Kalpi as bride. For them they were looking as the perfect couple. Truly made for each other. They were happy but knew once they come down they will be under scanner. They had to think before reacting to this whole scene. It shouldn't look like they were well aware of it before handedly. Sammy had already messaged them to keep their emotions in control.
FLASHBACK:-
"Raghav where are we going? This route does not lead towards my house." Kalpi asked inquiringly.
"I know jaan but we are not going to your house or mine we are going to Maya's house." Raghav answered apprehensively. He was sure she will ask why and so before she could ask further he continued
"Lets reach there and I'll tell you everything" Raghav locked his fingers with Kalpi's thus assuring her not to worry.
Once they reached home Maya opened the door and four of them got in.
To divert Kalpi's mind Maya asked "Kalpi How did you find my house? I mean you have come for the first time so..."
"Its nice Maya" Kalpi said but her tone reflected her disinterest. She didn't want to change the topic at all.
Once they were settled she looked at Raghav expectantly. Raghav after huffing said "Okay I know you want answers and I will give them"
He went more closer to Kalpi, she felt shy since Sammy and Maya too were seated but when she saw their plain expressions and seriousness on Raghav's face tension override the shyness. He continued..." Kalpi we will reach chawl only when Kapoors are present. I want to see their faces when they receive their first defeat from my hands. I want Pakhi Kapoor breaking down before us for today our marriage will burst her bubble where she has been staying since long."
Kalpi was numb. She couldn't believe to her ears. She thought "Did I hear wrong?Or I am interpretting it wrongly? How can he think of a possible move for his revenge from our marriage." She looked at him with moisten eyes that were reflecting the hurt.
"Raghav we are going to start our new life today and you want us to witness pain, cries and curses of people who cannot think good for us under any circumstances. Already we are going to face wrath of Aai and possibly of Tai too. Raghav don't you think we deserve not happy but atleast a descent start for our journey."Kalpi was almost in tears while expressing her hurt.
"I know jaan but remember we are not breaking somebody's heart intentionally. We love each other and how can Pakhi even assume that I am interested in her when I never did anything which makes her believe that I am interested in her."
Kalpi cut his pont of view in between and said "Didn't you take her out for dinner, invited her specially for the party??"
Raghav lowered his eyes when he heard that coz he knew she was right. He took some moments to sink in the realisation and said "Kalpi I agree I asked her out for dinner but that was not a date!! I specially invited her for the party but I didn't enjoy it with her!! Before that I confessed my feelings to you and when you left the venue I went behind you but she stopped me in the mid and confessed her feelings. I didn't even answer her Kalpi and thought she will take my silence as rejection. Post that even you know I never did anything which makes her assume about me having feelings for her."
"Kalpi I know that my intention has hurt you but do you really think curses of people like Kapoors who have never think good about anyone will ever come true?? May be you don't know but Pakhi was never interested in knowing who I am, she was just interested in my name that carries a huge status in society. When I had gone for dinner with her she didn't even try to know me once. It was just brands, high society life thats it. If she claims to love me then somebody should aks her what does and how much she knows about The Real Raghav, Nothing!! Kapoors won't be hurt rather they will cry or curse us because of the loss they have to suffer due to Pakhi's so called heart break."
Kalpi looked at Raghav, his point of view did make sense to her. "It wasn't that Raghav knew prior to Aai's revelation that Pakhi loved him. He was equally shocked on hearing that. She remembered how everytime Aai had placed Pakhi's needs and wishes over her, that for Pakhi Aai was ready to make her sacrifice her love. And Kapoors coz of them they were on the verge of loosing their house. Raghav has every right to find all the possible moves to give it back to Kapoors what they have given to him PAIN." Kalpi thought to herself
"Raghav, I need a promise from you" Raghav nodded his head in a Yes...Kalpi continued "You will not use any wrong means to take Revenge from them. You cannot stoop as low as them. Remember you are a Singhnia. Yor father was a gem you cannot let down his name." Saying so she extended her palm towards him.
He immediately placed his on hers and said "I promise Kalpi I'll take Revenge by using all fair means. My father won't feel ashamed of me" Raghav hugged Kalpi tightly and thanked her for understanding him so well. He knew if at all he deviates from his path she would be there to guide him.
They informed Pakya and Vitthal that they have to be silent supporters and also they cannot show their happiness overtly as it will only worsen the situation which at present they cannot afford. They need to act practiaclly instead of being emotional.
PRESENT:-
Vitthal and Pakya came down. They looked at Raghav and Kalpi admiringly. They were looking perfect with each other. If there was any word better than perfect they would have used that word to describe their feelings. They immediately controlled their emotions and behaved like others 'shocked' and waited with baited breaths for Kamla to react. They knew their first reaction will only raise doubts in her and therefore they remained mum and patiently waited for Kamla's reaction.
Raghav and Kalpi together started walking. Sammy and Maya were right behind them. As soon as they were to step in the chawl a loud voice stopped them from entering.
"Stay where you are!! Kamla shouted at the top of her voice.
"Kalpi why did you do this?? You are my daughter I told you to back out from this relationship. You know very well Pakhi loves Raghav." Kamla questionned her with anger filled voice.
"Yes Aai I am your daughter and thats why I supported truth just like you always do. Raghav loves me not Pakhi and I too love him. This is the truth which you are not willing to accept coz this truth will shake your Pakhi baby's life." Kalpi answered defiantly.
Kamla was shocked to hear this. She without thinking even for a moment raised her hand to slap Kalpi but Vitthal stopped her.
"Kamla since the time you have come to know that Raghav baba had asked for Kalpi's hand and not of your Pakhi you are unable to accept this relationship. Why are you after your OWN daughter's happiness?? They both love each other and marriage is the next step. Yes, even I didn't like the way they married each other without informing anyone but that does not give you the right to slap Kalpi. It isn't that these two didn't try to persuade you, you were adamant on your false assumptions. No Kamla, I won't allow you to hurt my Rajkumari for something which she wanted to do in a simple, genuine way but you forced them to take a different turn."
He turned towards Kalpi and Raghav since his face could not be seen by anyone except Raghav and Kalpi it reflected his joy, he silently blessed them through his eyes. They bent down to take his blessings which he denied saying "Kalpi I know what you two did was something that every lovers will do when they face denial from their parents but dear you have broken your Aai's heart and for that it won't be proper if I bless you."
Raghav and Sammy were stunned. Earlier Kalpi answered her mother and now Vitthal is acting as if whatever he is saying is truth. If they were not aware of it they would have fallen into his words and with the depth with which he spoke to them. He walked back where Pakya was standing.
Raghav and Kalpi again tried to enter into the chawl when Kamla said "Kalpi you have lost all the rights to come here. Don't cross the line you don't belong to this chawl anymore. Get out of here." Anger was evident from her voice.
Neetu who until now didn't utter a word came in between "Didn't you hear what Kamla said Get out Kalpi. My Pooka always considered you as her sister and what you did instead of being greatful to her for what all she did you took away her happiness."
"For what I should be greatful to her?? For snatching away my Aai?? For taking away her love and affrction on which Dada and I had the right or for sending me away from her??"
Neetu was shocked to see the rage in her eyes and anger in her voice.
"Wow Kalpi you are too much. You snatched my love and now you are defending your mistake. You know you don't match him anywhere. You have always stayed in chawl what do you know of high society nothing just nothing!! I love him and I know you have brainwashed him since he respects Kamla maa a lot. Wow what a short cut you have used to achieve your fistful of sky!" Pakhi yelled at her. Tears were flowing from her eyes continously.
"Get out Kalpi you have no right to stand over here. You are no longer required here Get out before I drag you out of this place. This is Kamla Maa's house Just get out!!" Pakhi screamed.
"Don't you dare to touch her. This is Singhania Chawl and she is rightfully the owner of this place.You lay your hand on my daughter in law and I shall take not a single second to call police for getting you arrested on the charges of insulting and getting physical with my DIL. Don't forget Pakhi Kapoor this is Singhania Chawl and you are insulting Mrs. Kalpana Raghav Singhania." Gauri said calmly while coming forward. She had not uttered a word till now and what she said stunned Raghav to the core.
He found his mothers behaviour suspicious. "Till last night she was determined on not making Kalpi his wife and now this sudden change. Its kinda U-turn. But why?? What is she thinking??" Raghav quickly hid his expressions but Sahil who was silent spectator to all this chaos noted it. He smirked inwardly
"Ahan!! Something is not well between Raghav and Gauri. The sudden change of expression from anger to shock to suspicion proves in itself that there is something more than what meets the eyes." Sahil went to his family and said "Enough has been said and done C'mon lets go nothing is left over here for us, everything is finished. Lets move. Its their family matter."
Neetu was confused on listening this and looked at Sahil but his one look was enough to tell her that they have to leave from here right now. She went towards Pakhi who was crying inconsolably and held her from the elbow and took her out of Singhania Chawl. Before leaving she glanced back at the couple and vowed to hersef that she will get back to Kalpi and will show her, her right place. She has to pay for Pakhi's tears.
Kamla too without uttering any more word went to her room. Vitthal and Pakya looked at them once more, Vitthal silently communicated through his eyes with Kalpi and assured her that everything will be fine and followed Kamla and Pakya.
Manda came towards the couple and started buttering Kalpi "Haiee Kalpi you are looking so nice. I knew if somebody has the guts to make it big from chawl its only you. You are looking beautiful in this bridal attire and you two look good together." Manda looked towards Gaui and seeing her look she understood its better for her to stop then and there. She ran away to her room.
"Come Kalpi and Raghav we need to go to our home. I have to carry out the Grah Pravesh Pooja and the riruals after marriage. Come and Sammy and you girl (pointing at Maya) you both also come with them." Saying so Gauri left in her car and left four shocked faces behind.
The Game has begun. Lets see what turn it will take.
