Why am i unable to connect with any character in EMA,save Kalpi.Is it because they lack depth? Is it because they change their colours everyday? Is it because they are unable to portray what they are supposed To?Or is it because,basically the entire plot has become flawed?
To begin with it was the story of kamala ,who dreamt big and wanted her daughter to reach out for the stars..Using her mothers support as the biggest staff,the girl should have climbed higher and higher...a great tale on mother daughter bonding.But what did they choose to do? They brought Paaki into the picture and subsequently a mothers partisan attitude...in the course of this,kamala lost her place as the protagoist
Agreed that people employ nannies,also accept that sometimes,children do tend to get attached to their nannies,but at the expense of hating their mother ,repeatedly insulting her and getting over possessive of the nanny?The nanny ,in turn ,showering more affection on the ward than the daughter!!!!!
So we have Kamala who loves Paaki more than her blood and Kalpi,who initially after the leap did not take too kindly to it.in fact,she was quite cold to Pakhi, Everytime Paaki was effusive to her.Somewhere along the line,paakhi became one of us and her pain became understandable.
Kamala ...she is like a pendulum.never stops swinging as far as her decisions are concerned.a person with a more wavering mind ,i am yet to see.while it is clear that she will in time,ultimately choose Paaki,the creatives are also simultaneously attempting to beatify her...vague explanations to justify her biased attitude
Vithal...a person who knows that time over his daughter has been wronged...but everytime he attempts to voice it,he is drowned by the love for his wife.So in a way,he too has wronged Kalpi and is spineless,well at least partially.
Pakhya...an elder brother...should rightfully be the man of the house after his father,responsible...but what have they portrayed him as...a clown who never loses a chance to fool around Manda.He should have been Kalpi's anchor during the storm...but he was nowhere to be seen or heard at that point of time.And why does his mother not have any dreams for him?
Raghav singhania...the self made business tycoon who comes with revenge in his mind...somewhere down the line falls in love,packs up his revenge plan.Did anybody not find that strange? It has been a sore festering in his mind for so many years...he has plotted and planned for it...yet he seemed to put in the back burner overnight and yes ,retrieve it just as quickly.looks like he has a one track mind...doing only one job at a time
Gauri...memory loss,memory gain,memory loss...?????the creatives have played with her brain like no one would
Neetu and Saahil...having found out that the daughter has been used,even the worst mother would,at least for a moment,pause and console her.Though they are the main villains,the creatives have shown us,that come what may,Neetu does like her daughter and keeps her welfare in mind.That is a mothers nature.However bad she may be...kamala ,of course is an exception.Yet ,what did they choose to highlight ...neetu s selfishness last night.No sorrow ,no consolation...just demanding her daughter supports her...Again they sullied a mother
Paaki...no further words.She has been transformed overnight from rampwalk Remo to sati savitri ,jai ho sita maiyya...Despite knowing raghav likes Kalpi,she is still professing her love for him...She has now been promoted to main lead...just keep forgetting it.
To date,the only consistent person has been Kalpi,who lives for her mother,swears by her and even wants her future life dictated as per her terms.She has been consistent in her love for her family,making their dreams hers.
It is just a matter of time before her character will be ruined.Of that I am sure,considering all the public love and support for her.On that day,it will be the end of the road for a show ,which at the present ,is already heading that way.
