How about KALPI being so hurt , actually concentrates on becoming successful ( trust me, there's nothing more than a broken heart to make you pass your exams in flying colors, at least it happened for me after 3 months of self pity & feelings of suicide, lol)...
Okay, back to the point...
One thing that actually annoys me with EMA is the celebration of poverty...
Am not saying being poor is bad but celebrating it?
I know poor people who are actually focused to get a better life for their next generation.
Started watching EMA based on this premise but it seems that's not the case...
We have Pakya that graduated from school, no job ??? But he is good with his hands , young , virile & loves his parents + sister dearly but has never tried to "get rich or die trying".
How about KALPI , who says girls can't be ambitious , striving hard to make it in life..
Going to a private school and all the sacrifices her mother made for her, really!
My best friend is Spanish , her mother and father stowed away on a canoe to the US, they lived in almost penury when the got here with evil employers exploiting them because they didn't have papers and paying them next to nothing , they own 3 chains of McDonald franchise now and live in a large casa, life is good, they didn't need a RAGHAV !
You don't make that much sacrifice for the child to be a lowly staff in a company!
KALPI is educated, work your way up in the construction/ real estate buiz, become a force to reckon with it, seat in a high chair (horse) like RAGHAV & tell him you did him a favor for loving him, I personally would love that. Attend meetings with him not as his staff but a colleague , presenting intelligent, getting contracts snatched from under his nose not because of revenge but because you deserve it..
Make him beg and crawl to have that love...
Hey don't hate me( of course she loves him but is in denial that she is made of stone & not capable of loving, blah blah , blah)..
I personally want to see a well established KALPI & Raghav marriage & a merger of her great buisness company before I start believing in their love & life sacrifices...

I couln't help but write something after reading your post.
Personally,I feel there is nothing wrong in rich boy-poor girl union.They really portrayed the jodi beautifully.The progression in their relationship was quite subtle and good albeit with a few minor glitches which I ignored,hopeless romantic that I am.
It wasnt love at 1st sight or anything they both fell in love with each other eventually.It was a gradual process.Raghav always believed Kalpi would grow up into a fine person beacuse she was Kamla's daughter who again is a great person.After the 1st leap Raghav senses the neglect and the pain which Kalpi had to suffer because of the greater care & attention which Pakhi received from Kamla.Hence he sympathised with her.After returning from the US.He gradually comes to know about Kalpana with every single meeting with her.I already made a post on it.Let me just copy paste it haha.
So here it goes.
Kamla was the connecting link between Raghav and Kalpana.Raghav loved his Kamla maa because she gave him the love and care which he craved for so much.That made him help Kalpana solve the maths problem or give him the abacus.Besides he took a liking to Kalpana,maybe from what he had seen of her,no matter how little that might be.He had faith in Kamla's upbringing,hence he trusted Kalpana to not have stolen money when Prem falsely implicated her.
He returns from the US and with every meeting with Kalpana he gets to know her a little bit more.
On her birthday he gets to know Kalpana suffering and in pain.Again Kalpi's self respect and confidence comes to the fore at the interview.Then again Kalpana showcases her courage in the way she deals with 4 boys from her college out on the streets.Her presence of mind,intelligence and will power reveal themselves when she comes all the way to Pune looking for Raghav,hell bent on taking him back with her to Mumbai.The day Raghav saves the day by putting a stop to the chawl demolition,he finds Kalpi in pain and neglected.Raghav gets to know her caring and loving side when she offers him the first aid box on her 1st day in office.Caring and loving she was,just like her mother in every possible way.He loved Kamla for that and he feared he would fall for Kalpi too and sabotage his revenge strategy.
Affection turns to love after the fateful "Uss Raat" .
As for Kalpana she respected Raghav for the way he helped them in more ways than one.Whether it be paying for the hotel bill or bailing out Pakya.Respected him for listening to him and coming all the way to save the chawl although it doesn't serve any of his purpose and then again for giving her the job just at the insistence of her mother.
But his erratic behaviour after that puts her off.Then when he comes with her to Kapoor's house to save Pakhi,even though he is at odds with the Kapoors,that and the emotional talk revealed another dimension to his character,.Kalpi gets to know the soft side to Raghav Singhaniya.But still his erratic behaviour confuses her all the more.
Kalpi realises Raghav's care and concern for her on the day she gets locked up in the office store room.
After Raghav's out of the blue confession of his love for her Kalpi takes her time to get to know him better and falls for him eventually in the process.
Kalpi realises Raghav is willing to change his ways for her(Holi Day),that he cares for the feelings of others(Raghav comes to the chawl although he had a fight with Kalpi).More respect for him after she realises how much of a self made man he is(Raghav shouting at Kalpana after the constable suspension fiasco),sees his benevolent,caring and helping nature and that he is willing to stand by her no matter what(Hospital incident).That day she finally realises she is in love with Raghav.
Now about Kalpi needing that much needed betrayal in love to steel her to become successful is not needed.Even without the betrayal Kalpi has got enough motivation to make it big.
To get out of poverty,to give a better life to her family.Not once,but twice she has witnessed how the rich and the powerful are favoured and how the poor have to suffer in silence and humiliated.That's more than enough to get her motivated.I remember the episode where her brother is put in jail and seeing her father begging to the officer in charge to let him go Kalpi steels herself and prays to God and says that "She is fed up of this inequity,humiliation,the poverty,the abject condistions of the chawl she has had to contend with.That she wanted to be successful and give a better life to her family,get them out of this vicious cycle of poverty."She got exploited by the Kapoors.That was enough to steel her which was beautifully portrayed in the very 1st episode after the 2nd leap.
Kalpi is focussed.But then again Kalpi has never craved for anything else in life other than her mother's undivided attention & love.She says it in the very 1st episode and in the promo for the 2nd leap where she says "I want to fulfill all the aspirations and dreams of my mother so that she can have her mother all to herself.".Then again she says "Everything I have ever done is for my mother.Even the dreams I have are more of my mother than my own."So I would say Kalpi was never that ambitious,quite a contended girl she is.Just needs a little love,care & attention.Hence her words for Raghav in Thursday's episode"You made me feel special which I never thought I was".
Yes,Kalpi should have got a better job,and taken her slow and steady steps up the ladder to success,but if I am not wrong,although the show's premise was depicted was to showcase the trials & tribulations of the house maids,their ambitions,still the show integrated a lot of things into one whole.
Along with Kamla's dreams,hope amidst misery and her struggles,the story also focussed on a Raghav Singhania out to avenge his father's death,Kamla's caring and loving nature,her beautiful relationship with Pakhi & Raghav,Kalpi's struggles to get her mother's love & attention,and Vitthal's undying support for Kalpi and Raghav & Kalpana's love story.They managed to weave a conspiracy track, a social issue,complex relationships all into one.
Besides no matter the plot which the producers want to show,as the show eventually progresses,channel starts to intervene,good TRPs or bad.In both the instances channel starts to intervene and the producers have to oblige.That's one of the downsides of your show being telecast on one of the so called "BIG CHANNELS".To what extent ZEE has intervened,it's difficult to guess but post leap,there has been a lot of inconsistency in some of the characters, major glitches in some episodes.It might be the channel,maybe not.
About the love story in the show,I have no qualms about the story now focussing on the love story.This is just 1 phase.Soon they will be getting to the major plot-Kamla's dreams & Raghav's revenge.
This love story was meant to be.They showed it quite subtly from the very beginning.12 year old Raghav sees both the babies Pakhi & Kalpana but decides to play with Kalpi.Post 1st leap,gifts the abacus & pen to Kalpi,sees her hurt because of the Kamla pakhi bond and deduces that Pakhi will pose trouble for Kamla in times to come.
Post 2nd leap,he knows Kalpana is the one who can achieve the things that Kamla has dreamt of.So he challenges her,ridicules her,humiliates her only to steel her determination,to make her stronger.
But he feared he might fall for her because caring and loving she was in every way just like her mother.
I love Raghav Kalpana love story.These 2 damaged people connecting with each other reminds me of House & Cameron of House M.D. Cameron relentless in trying to make House come to terms with his feelings for her bears resemblance to Raghav pursuing Kalpana,adamant on she accept her feelings for him.But Fox didnt go ahead and make them a couple,God knows why.But I am glad Zee did.
They have their demons of their past,both are craving for love & care.So similar in more ways than one.I for one would love to see them help each other heal their wounded hearts,and be happy.
They don't need to get separated to attain their own Ek Mutthi Aasmaan.They can be each other's support and achieve their own Aasmaan.And they can both get back at the Kapoors haha.After all they are Raghav & Kalpana's common nemesis.They have wronged both Raghav & Kalpana.
And lastly they both love each other enough not to hurt each other.
Phewww.That's quite a novel I penned down.Let me know what you have to say.I would be really upset if Raghav really married Pakhi but knowing Raghav and the weirdness of the episode,I can't help but feel something is fishy.Besides Raghv already had revenge on his mind but still decided that he wanted Kalpana in his life.So no more proof of Kapoor's betrayal or anything can make him change his mind.Dont think he owuld be willing to giv eup on all the love and care which Kalpi gave him and for which he has been craving for all his life.
