Prem starts having romantic feelings for Kalpi sometime during the time she is the surrogate for Raghav & Paakhi- right after she saves his life from a crazy Prem fan girl & although he feels embarrassed about being saved by a girl, he tells Kalpi after he confesses his love to her that he'll one day save her & he saves her in a big way by delivering his nephew on a stormy night not long after his car breaks down. It's only after this at this time of him saving her that she falls for him. Later on, they basically have conflict between them regarding marriage. This conflict really tears at them because they both think they are better off not being married to each other even though the feelings they have for each other are not lessening. One day while Kalpi comes to his house & tells him that she is not interested in being w/him unless he will marry her. She says that although she is has been keeping away from him lately- it's partly because she never fully felt that he's the one for her, partly because of their not so rosy past (I'm thinking about the show so far for example and that he already rejected her when it came to marrying her a few weeks ago in my ff) she is willing to be w/ him on one condition. She tells him this,

Kalpi: "Are you willing to give not just 1 dance, not just two secret dates, not just a few kisses & some warms hugs, help me get ready for a a big event not just a few times"

Prem: "I also gave u... Just 1 sari..

Kalpi: I don't care much for gifts (she interrupts). Besides, it was understandable that we didn't have too many of these moments. As weird as this may sound, I wouldn't mind feeling everything I felt with u & experienced w/u for the rest of my life. Like whatever emotions when through my head when u delivered Rajini if you're willing to marry a chawlwali girl who comes from a more poor family.

Prem had this sad look on his face, his eyes watering, he looked down, feeling bad about all that he put her family through in the past, then looked up & saw that Kalpi was gone. He pinched himself, to make sure her asking him to be w/her on the condition of marriage wasn't a dream & then called out her name. He went down the stairs still calling out her name, when he got to the foot of the stairs, Neetu asked him if he had too much to drink since he is calling Kalpi's name like this. He ignored her & got out the door, & called out her name again. Once he called out her name again he felt drops of water all over him. He stood out in the rain for moment, then went down on his knees crying.

One day, during a party at the Kapoor household, celebrating Rajini's birth. He takes her outside to a secluded place not far from his backyard

K: Why did you take me here? Although it's beautiful.

P: I know

K: Why? (groaning).

P: I want to give you more of everything u mentioned that day.

Kalpi thought to herself, am I dreaming right now?

Prem got down on one knee & popped out a sparkling diamond ring.

"Are you willing to marry a rich, kinda bratty businessman who you never thought u would ever fall for?"

K: Just kinda bratty...

P: Ya, I... I know

Kalpi put her arms around him, adding to the list,

K: spoilt, born w/a silver spoon in his mouth

"Okay, okay, so I am all those things"

"Yes, I will. I will marry you!"

Prem slipped the ring onto her perfectly French manicured finger & lifted Kalpi & twirled her in the air. As Prem slowly set her to the ground. Their noses touched & then their lips.
