Part 7 'Jhatka' (Shock)

As soon as the word's felt out of jeevika's mouth, maanvi rushed ove to her and stood next to her.

"But beeji main", Jeevika said helplessly
"Par var kuch nahi, you are old enough now jeevika, and its high time your settled, we will be coming tomorrow only, and the day after the boy's family will come to see you"
"Beeji, im not getting married, i need to look after mannu, you know that as well as i do" Jeevika's voice became muffled, as she tried to Held back the tears
"This will be discussed once we reach there, meanwhile go out and buy yourself and maanvi, a nice suit each, you need to make a good impression" and saying that Beeji put down the phone.

Jeevika put the phone down and looked over at maanvi, who was staring back with a just as shocked impression
"What are we going to do now" ,maanvi said, "You and viren"
"chup kar mannu, that is not what i am worried about, its you, i cant leave you and get married, i just cant" she Said as a tear dropped out of her eye.
"Shh,okay theek hai, calm down, we'll do something" Maanvi said a slow smirk came over her face, "Just let me think"

Maanvi went to her room and sat down on her bed wondering what to do'..5 mins later'' her phone vibrates she pick it up and sees a message from Virat.

"Hi, Whatcha Doin"

Maanvi Smiled as she looked at her phone, suddenly she picked up her phone and thought maybe Virat could help.

"Can u Meet me 2 day, I need to talk to you"

In less than a minute she received a text.

"Ooo Sound serious, Sure tell me where n ill be there"

"K Than meet me down by the lake"

"Purfect ;) "

At The Lake'''

Maanvi walked on the stones, She saw him standing a distance away, He looked at her n walked towards her, She Stood their waiting nervously.

He reached her, he grinned and then said, "Arre you could have also taken a few steps towards me"
maanvi looked at his face, trying to understand what he was saying, he saw her confused expression and laughed, "never mind yaar" "do u want to go on the boats"
maanvi nodded, "yeah but with you, i mean would it look right"
virat smirked at her innocence, " We are here as friends right" he asked maanvi nodded.

"I'm sure no one will get any ideas" he said smiling.

Maanvi wondered how he made things so simple and comfortable.."ok then let's go" she said to him and they both made their way over to the boats.

As the boat began to ride, maanvi breathed in the cool air, it was refreshing and she couldn't help but close her eyes and smile, virat who was sitting opposite, was lost in her beauty she looked quite a sight

After a while, maanvi opened her eyes and realised he was staring at her,"i...i wanted to talk to u" she said.
virat nodded, "yes but i dont mind, you can enjoy the air as much as you want, i am also enjoying", he said winking.
maanvi shook her head, "u Idiot, lets get on track" .and she told him what had happened earlier that morning in there house.
Onceshe had finished she sat back but instead of the shocked expression she was expecting, on the contrary he looked quite calm with a knowing look on his face he was quite for a few minutes, so maanvi kept quite too, thinking that he was thinking...however, after a while he spoke.

"There is only one way", he said smirking
"Haan bolo" maanvi asked relieved he had finally thought of something
"your beeji has told u to buy suits for when the boy's family come" he asked maanvi nodded, "then the solution is simple, you yourself have to make this boy's family run away by wearing indecent western clothes"
"Budhu, we're in the 21st century, all girls with western outfit are not evil you know",she said.
"pata hai but big family's in chandigarh would want there future daughter in law, to be dressed a little appropriately na" he said grinning
maanvi nodded, "that's not a bad idea, you know but how will i convince di" ..virat laughed out loud, "Tellher that's the only way she will get bhai" he said winking.
maanvi grinned and started Planning something brilliant in her head.

she looked her sister up and down, she hoped the plan would turn out right, however modern, her di looked stunning and she hoped virat was right, the boy's family didnt choose her di on just her good looks.

And as they heard a car outside, maanvi rushed to the window to see but all she could see was a big white car and nothing else.
Jeevika came and stood behind her, " " Uare also looking beautiful maanu" she said and they both hugged, nervous yet excited of what they were going to do.
'maanvi, jeevika, neeche chalo' said there beeji from outside the door.
'haan beeji, we're coming' jeevika called and they took each other's hand, squeezing it tightly and made their way outside.
