Chapter 1
"I fall so many times, it hurts every time, but I once fell so hard, but it didn't hurt'. it was when I fell for you."
(Manvi's POV)London, the last place I wanted to be. I didn't see anything special about the third largest city in Europe. The weather was extremely dull and drizzly, unlike Hrishikesh where the sun radiated constantly giving a sense of relaxation and freedom. I pulled on my cardigan tighter around me as I felt a soft breeze swipe past me. Damn this cold weather. I don't know how I'm going to survive the next three months living here.
When my sister Jeevika called me to give me the good news of her finally getting married, i wasn't expecting her to be getting married here in London. She had always wanted the typical summer wedding on a small warm island. Somewhere romantic and passionate. Maybe the Mediterranean or Madagascar. I had always dreamt of a wedding in Madagascar.
Nonetheless, I was excited that she was getting married regardless of where it was. As long as she was happy, so was I. It had always been a dream of mines to see her walk down the aisle in an elegant white wedding gown, her long hair rolled in curls framing her oval face and her neck adorned in our mother's pearls. Just three more months and she was soon off to be Mrs Vadhera.
I don't have much information on the Vadhera family. They are supposed to be a huge and renowned law firm in England.
Viren vadhera, Jeevika's fianc and son of the owner of Vadhera's met my Di at university and that's when sparks were ignited and the two fell in love.
So clich right? And sappy too. It all seemed so cheesy, like a scene from a Twilight movie minus the vampires.
But that was Jeevika for you. She was always the romantic one who loved those sweet and innocent guys and dreamt of having a life like Cinderella.
I've never seen Viren. Jeevika didn't want me to look at any pictures of him and judge him so soon. She wanted me to meet him in person and get to know him when I come over to London. I was extremely curious to know my sisters choice. Her previous ex-boyfriends never did seal my approval.
I took out my iPhone from my handbag and started to move my suitcase along as I dialled Jeevika's number.
'Manvi!' Jeevika squealed through the phone. I could just imagine her grinning like a little child as we spoke.
It was always the two of us. We sisters were practically inseparable. I don't know how I managed to live without her for two years.
The day she told me she was offered a scholarship to London at Oxford University, I ripped her scholarship letter and begged her not to go.
'Mannu, I have to go, I can't take you with me, but this scholarship is all I have to give us both a better future. I need to go to London so I can provide you with everything' she told me.
'But Di, I have everything. You are everything'
A small tear pricked my eye as I remembered her soft velvety voice that used to sing me lullaby's, her smooth fingers that massaged coconut oil into my hair and her emerald eyes that reminded me of our mother.
'Mannu? What happened?" Jeevikas worried voice came through the speaker and I wiped a tear away.
'Nothing Di, I'm trying to get this suitcase through the doors. I've just checked out, I'll meet you at the arrivals.'
'Great, I'm so excited to see you! Love you'
'Love you too' I tugged my suitcase along and smiled to myself. As I was about to place my phone in my jacket pocket, a hard shoulder bumped into me.
'Watch it' I snapped as I rubbed the area of my shoulder where I had just been hit.
'Why don't you watch it' my head snapped up as I heard a husky male voice.
I looked up only to be startled as a pair of hazel orbs which had golden flecks in them stared down at me. He had an angled jawline and his hair was slightly messy but in a hot way. I wanted to reach out and just caress the smooth locks that perfectly framed his face. He was dressed casually in a tight white t-shirt, dark black jeans, converses and a leather jacket casually draped on his arm.
'I know I'm sexy and all but you're in my way and you really need to move' he had a hint of amusement in his voice and he smirked as my jaw dropped to the floor.
'Oh, puh-lease, you're not all that, I've seen better' I retorted.
Okay, maybe that was a lie. He was extremely hot, but there was no way I was admitting that.
'Oh really, so then why are you drooling?' His smirk grew wider and I instantly placed a hand to my chin. There was nothing there. Gosh, why did I have to be such an idiot?
'Why you...'
'Save it princess, I have better things to do so move' he started to shove past me but I moved in front of him, blocking the way to the exit.
'You could at least have the decency to apologise you know' I said as I crossed my arms, trying to look intimidating.
'Apologise to you? Yeah right, I don't do the whole apology crap.' He raised an eyebrow at me and smirked even more.
'That's no way to talk to someone. Weren't you taught any manners?'
'And who are you to teach me manners. You're not my mommy so why don't you go and lecture someone else'
'You're an arrogant jerk'
'And your such a stuck up bitch'
I gasped and punched him on his arm. Damn, this guy had some hard muscles.
'Is that all you got?' He grinned; not even feeling affected the slightest bit.
I was about to make a remark when my phone started to vibrate.
Jeevika- mannu, where are you?
I looked at the text I received from Jeevika and then to the mysterious hot but annoying stranger.
I growled in frustration and shoved past him hard, rolling the wheels of my suitcase over his shoes.
I could hear him chuckle behind me and but mutter something, but I was too annoyed to turn back and glare at him.
Ignoring the jerk, I continued walking and exited the doors, scanning the huge crown to see if Jeevika was around anywhere.
'Mannu!' I turned my head to the left to see Jeevika jumping up and down waving her arms. I rushed towards her and embraced her in a warm hug. I breathed in her heavenly perfume and felt myself starting to tear up. Gosh, how I missed that vanilla scent of hers.
'I missed you so much Mannu'
'I missed you too Di.' I hugged her again and smiled.
