I can't believe while talking to his cancer patient, Maanvi, that a doctor could be so inconsiderate and refer to the illness as, I quote: "Yeh cancer waali baat" :|
What on EARTH was that? I'm seriously in shock. No doctor would ever do such a thing (I hope). It's equivalent to saying, in English: "That cancer thing you have"... Err... Seriously, I don't even know what else to say but if the writers read this forum, I hope they come across this - that was disgusting.
Dealing with the sensitive topic they are (cancer), they should be a tad bit more considerate and think things through before airing episodes.
It is to be expected. Initially I thought the show will treat the matter of the cancer seriously but ultimately till now,it is being treated same as someone has fever! When I saw the symtoms about cancer is truly wrong, the way Maanvi is not regular about her treatment, all what matters is rest and then the way she ran for her sister's life in the forest, I understood, the subject is only here as a fact that the young sister is weak and does not enjoy good health as others. Even in flashback, Maanvi was shown to fall ill often when she was a kid. I hope they are not relating that the cancer branch started when she was a kid that is why the reason she fell ill often because that will be another inconsistency on the show- there is no cancer patient who will live for a decade without knowing the gravity of the health condition and without being treated. Even if it is discovered now, it is incurable.
However, it is going the filmy way - the subject acts only to create more drama, just like early 1990s bollywood style.
I thought the show would have gone to the way of a brazilian soap way- where cancer was treated as a subject of awareness and how the character led all her treatments and had a happy ending. I have to watch more episodes to see whether it is going that way. I thought this was the reason that Jeevika was married - later in the show - to be pregnant and ready to sacrifice her baby to treat her sister's illness - and the show ends - the baby was not sacrificed to death but helped in curing of the illness.
We will see
