Though this rushed, raced ending was exactly what I had expected, I am still very angry. I waned the Goenka's not to swan off to jail in style but to have to give an account of each of their actions. But that we will never see, will we?
The writers and makers of this show are great fans of misogyny- they spent 10 minutes of Payal have to be mentally raped again in yesterday's episode. It felt to me that the writers take pleasure in watching a woman being totally at the mercy and power of a man. There were other ways they could have trapped Shaurya. But the one good thing was the Payal had tp face her demon and realise that it was only a fool full of ego and nothing else.
Yesterdays' epi was so reminiscent of Mahabhaat. Sakshi has always been a Gandhari like figure- blind to the faults of her children, yet protecting them in every way she can. Like in Mahabharat, before the battle, Gandhari asked her son to stand in the nude in front of her, so she could create a protective armour by gazing at him. The fool covered his loins and that was how Bhishma attacked him and destroyed him.
Duryodhana's shame did not let him reveal his loins to his mother. Shaurya's lust and ego (again totally related to the loins!) did not let him take the protection his mother had given him in the form of the ticket to New Zealand.
But then when the time comes, ego blinds one to everything, that is , was and will always be Shaurya's achilles heel.
I so wanted Goenka's to face teri victims and look them int he ey and feel remorse and regret for their actions. Right now they are defiant at being defeated and being arrested, their shame is because they have been caught and their plans did not succeed. They have no shame, regret or remorse for their terrible criminal actions had done wrong, their victims are still objects and tools they can use to further their lust for power and their need to be able to get anything they want.
Today they will have Durga/Nitya and Dev declare their love, Payal suddenly fall in love with Rishi and all will be well. The Goenkas will go laughing to the jail.
I will miss this show, the one and only show tat had so such potential and worth. The actors were fantastic, Simone and Vatsal will be unforgettable in their roles as mother and son.
